Contra Hard Corps (Sheena): Contra Anniversary Collection Part 8

Second playthrough of Contra Hard Corps., and this time, it's Sheena's turn. And for her Playthrough, I went and quickly uncovered the Secret Ending before proceeding with the ending where the villain escapes.

The Secret Ending can be achieved regardless of whether or not you pursue Deadeye Joe or rescue the Scientists. You climb up the wall just before you took on the Stage 3 boss, and accept the offer to take on the Secret Arena and win there. It ends with the player character traveling back in time and marrying a monkey.

The ending where the villain escapes is achieved by pursuing Deadeye Joe and refusing to surrender to Dr. Mandrake. With both Deadeye Joe and Dr. Mandrake prematurely dead in this ending, there's no one left to safely handle the Alien Cell, and it goes rogue, thus allowing for Colonel Bahamut to escape.

Contra Hard Corps (Ray): Contra Anniversary Collection Part 7

With Yugioh Early Days all but winding down, it's time to begin the wrap-up of the Contra Anniversary Collection with Contra Hard Corps. My aim is to beat the game with each of the four playable characters and to seek out all six endings. This Playthrough in particular goes for the Tragic Ending with Ray. This ending can only be achieved by chasing after Deadeye Joe and then surrendering to Bahamut's forces.

Jazz Jackrabbit Episode 1 – Authentic PII Hardware Capture with PicoGUS (Gravis Ultrasound)

Sharing a recent entry from my longplay vault. I'm focusing on capturing classic titles on period-correct hardware to preserve the original look and sound.

Technical Details for the nerds:

  • System: Pentium II 233 @ 133MHz (Downclocked to fix the "Runtime Error 200" / Turbo Pascal speed bug).
  • Sound: PicoGUS. Hearing Robert Allen’s tracker music with native Gravis Ultrasound support is a game changer.
  • Video: Pure DOS 6.22 capture via Nvidia Riva 128 + Voodoo 1.

No commentary, no emulators, just the raw 1994 PC experience. If you miss the sound of a GUS, this one is for you!
