Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen

What Xabi Alonso did at Bayer Leverkusen is one of the most dramatic transformations in recent football.

When he took over in October 2022, Leverkusen were 2nd from bottom in the Bundesliga. Within about 18 months, he turned them into one of the best teams in Europe.

They were unbeaten for a whole season in the league. In fact, they went 51 games unbeaten across all competitions - even Bayern didn’t manage to do that.

We probably never had an ex-player show that much promise in his coaching ability.

We can only say “what could have been?” now.

What's the plan with Endrick?

Everyone was whining about how Endrick should've never been loaned to Ligue 1, but what was the alternative? Mbappe is Perez's favorite boy which means he play 24/7. If Endrick stayed in Madrid he would've played once every 2-3 games for 10-15 minutes which is not enough to develop as a player.

And now that Endrick is coming back, I don't think Endrick will accept a sub role like that anymore, and Mbappe probably still want to reign as the absolute King. So why are we so hyped about Endrick coming back when they will not give him any minutes anyway?

Real Madrid conceded 46 → 25 goals in 2019/20 without increasing defensive volume. What actually changed?

Been looking into Madrid’s defensive improvement from 18/19 to 19/20 and the usual stats don’t really explain it. Defensive volume is pretty similar. Tackles, interceptions, clearances don’t change much.

The difference shows up more in how situations develop. In 18/19, one action could expose the structure immediately. In 19/20, similar moments still happen, but they don’t directly turn into clear chances.

Tried to break it down using a couple of sequences + some data:

Was It All Worth It ?

Lives were ruined, the most decorated and historic club was ruined, players were ruined, mental healths of everyone were ruined, friendships were ruined, Team balance ruined,Fans were divided, our most decorated coach got sack.

I am asking you once again ,Was it all worth it?

Team for next year

I don’t know if Vini will stay but I think we need to improve our midfield.

Valverde played a good game in box to box, I think he could be very strong in this position.

Then, we talk a lot about Rodri but he gets older and becomes slower and slower, while Nico has enormous potential and above all almost never plays City so may be an opportunity to sign him in order to solve one of our biggest problems, namely creative environments capable of destabilizing or finding between the lines.

Mbappe is overrated

I feel like mbappe is too overrated for what he gave us this season, cus we went another season with 0 trophies let alone international ones, and the problem can’t be at Bellingham or vini or the defense because as a proof before mbappe we still won trophies, but since mbappe came we won nothing, we won nothing and he’s behaving like he’s bigger than the club and tries to control everything and that’s ruining the club from inside out
