Questions on coolant smell

Hey guys had a question the other day I had a long trip and when I got close to home and started smelling coolant, I looked at all the connections from the radiator to water pump and I didn’t see any leak today I then drove 30 minutes after the drive. I placed a piece of wood underneath the truck to see if it leaked and still got nothing. I still see my temps getting a little high around 225 instead of 206. Has anyone else had this issue and might know a common place where they leak to target a possible fix? Thanks!!

Maxpeedingrods kinda bouncy

Just installed maxpeedingrods 2in leveling lift kit + 2-4in upper control arms. Truck rides kinda bouncy, itll ride pretty smooth on a good flat road, but its pretty bad once it starts to bounce 😂 any ideas? Should I just return these and get a set of RC's?

Also - should the UCA be touching the strut tower like that? Photo attached

Considering a RAM 1500 Laramie

I'm looking at buying an RV (~5000 - 7000lbs) to haul some dirt bikes or a go kart and am looking at a truck. The RAM 1500 Laramie has caught my eye over the Big Horn due to the additional luxury features such as the leather and ventilated seats and moonroof. However, getting an out the door price of $67k on a new 26' Laramie is eye watering to someone who loves sports car as that would buy me a sick Mercedes AMG, Audi, etc. so I'm also very open to used. That said, I've spent so much time researching that my head is spinning and I'm hoping there may be some RAM owners that could give me feedback or insight.

Is there a particular reason to go with a brand new over say a 24' or 25' other than "it's new, not used"? The savings are very significant, but I'm not sure if the engines or technology are wildly better in a new one for example. I do believe I read the 26' models come with a 10year / 100k miles warranty vs. 5year / 60k miles? That seems significant. Any engines to stay away from? My racing heart would want a V8, but is that the way to go? I do believe I'll need the 3.92 axle to get the 10k+ towing capacity.

Bra, clear bra, or ceramic coat

2020 limited with 35k miles. Dump truck in Arkansas with unsecured load shot blasted the front of my truck with gravel ruining the hood windshield and front fascia. I’ve already had the bumper off and repainted so I know how much that costs, and I’m glad I didn’t already replace the windshield because of a crack from the winter.

Enough is enough and I can’t afford to have my truck repainted every year so I need to protect it. I’ve heard wonderful things from YouTubers about ceramic coating but don’t know if it’s strong enough to prevent gravel from chipping through to the primer or not. Same with clear bras. It appears that all three options are going to run me $300-500 depending on which shop or bra manufacturer I use, so I’m considering all three. I’m also going to grab a mopar rock guard and bring back the 1990s. Any guidance, personal experience, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

2023 ram 1500 Limited

So I just picked her up. 2023 1500 Limited w/o etorque. Runs great, sounds great, and looks great. Also had the Rambox system so it's a nice addition. This is the only 23 non etorque Hemi I've ever seen. Very happy with it

Is this good or should I change it

I was thinking of changing my spark plugs because I haven’t since I got the truck and the previous owner didn’t change them since they owned it. It’s a 1995 dodge ram 1500 360 motor

New (to me) 2015 Rebel

I just picked up this 2015 Rebel 1500 is great shape for a really good deal, 140k miles and runs well. Previous truck was a 2010 1500 Big Horn that I loved like my own child, 2” lift, tires, wheels, flares, and switched out some Laramie interior on it.

Anyways, does anyone have any recommendations on things to look out for, or upgrades that are well worth it?
Or even some cosmetic or quality of life upgrades/mods that they have found awesome.

I’m already installing a CarPlay radio within the next week too. Thanks!

Rust on a new 1500?

Bought a new 2026 Ram 1500 two days ago. Was under the car to see how the spare tire was installed. Surprised to see multifocal rust on rear axle. No rust anywhere else…. Thoughts/suggestions?

Two big horns, both 2022, same price, mileage and same trim levels. One is the white sport option, one is in crystal black with traditional chrome accents. Which is better looking? What do you prefer?

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Bighorn 5.7 V8 with about 180K on her.

Everything feels like it’s running as it always has, no shifting issues, no power issues, nothing.

But here’s the catch a good majority of the time, but not always, when I’m hovering around 35MPH or 45MPH and at that sweet spot where it hasn’t shifted gears this noise will sometimes appear for a few moments. If I let up on the gas it picks up in noise, if I power through it subsides and goes away. But it’s always at that precipice point where it’s just about to shift.

The thing is everything feels normal other than that damn noise. It started about 2 weeks ago and is only ever at those two speeds. You literally don’t feel anything when that noise is happening, and if you had the radio on even at lower volumes you wouldn’t hear it. It almost sounds like something with liquid or gas sputtering, or something electrical, or vibrating? Best actual sound I can compare it to is if you were to hold a plastic grocery bag out the window at speed and that weird noise it makes when you do that.

Thinking about lifting my 3rd gen 1500…

So I’m thinking about lifting my truck, and wondering if anyone has any experience on lifting a truck with the method I’m trying to do. Ok so it’s a 4wd and it’s got 306k miles on it currently, I wanna do a 3 inch lift on the front with spacers. Then 4 inch blocks on the back. All I’m trying to figure out is if this’ll be safe and if I’ll face any problems that would affect the structural integrity of the truck. I’m trying to keep it cheap as possible, as this truck is kinda a POS (and just something for me to beat on in the city). If anyone has any advice or help I’d love to hear ANYTHING you have to say. Overall tho I’d say I’m looking to get around 3-5 inches on lift total on the front and back. I have the pics of the parts I’m wanting to do down below.

I tried to list on another group but some ah mod removed my post. I’ve had this noise for about 6 months. I need to take it to a shop I know but am tight on money. Can anyone tell me if it is sounding like lifters or a rod knock? It doesn’t go away once warm up but sometimes when I’m going down hill it’ll randomly stop till I touch the gas pedal again. Thanks !

What tactics did you use when buying your truck from dealer? Certified pre owned vehicle

I’m looking at a 23’ 1500 Laramie 5.7 L Hemi w/ e torque for $40k (25k miles). Looking on the market that seems relatively fair pricing wise. After more research I’m concerned regarding longevity. I am good about general maintenances like oil changes, etc.

While I’m negotiating on the truck, is there anything you all had the dealer do prior to purchase to your truck? Any add ons they threw in? Any internal changes you requested?

It’s been about 10 years since I went car/truck shopping.

Any advice appreciated!

Hello everyone, I just bought my first truck as an up and coming youngin. It’s got 135,000 miles on it with a few new parts such as tie end rods and ball joints and small things of that nature. I know about the typical manifold exhaust issues but I would like to know how to best maintain my truck and keep it running smoothly for as long as possible as I don’t have the funds to afford it breaking down on me anytime soon. I’ll be running Mobil 1 full synthetic.
If anyone has ANY tips or heads up I would be grateful!!
Thanks to everyone in advance!!
