Chhapparband community call themselves as Pardeshi or Pardeshi Rajput, sanskritised term. These people were "roof builders" and were never warriors.

According to the British-era Bombay Gazetteer (Khandesh Volume, 1880), Rajputs had a clear historical presence in Khandesh. The Gazetteer specifically mentions Rajputs, Maratha Rajputs, and Rajput clans such as Chauhan, Rathod, Pawar, and Jadhav in the Khandesh region.

The records state that many Rajputs in Khandesh were locally known as “Deccani Pardeshis” and were especially found in the Jamner and Satmala areas. The Gazetteer also describes them as people who retained their military spirit and warrior traditions.

Another important reference mentions Bhil chief Kajarsing of Sindva Pass, who proudly claimed “Rajput blood,” showing the prestige and influence of Rajput identity in Khandesh during that period.

The Gazetteer further connects Khandesh with Mewar, Malwa, Gujarat, and Rajputana, describing these regions as historically linked cultural and political zones.

These are official British administrative records, not modern claims. Therefore, the historical presence of Rajputs in Khandesh is clearly documented and historically established.

छत्रसाल सों लरन की, रही न काहू हौंस।।"

उत्तर में यमुना (जमना) से दक्षिण में नर्मदा तक, और पश्चिम में चंबल से पूर्व में टोंस नदी तक महाराजा छत्रसाल का राज्य फैला हुआ था। फर्श से अर्श तक पहुंचने का महाराजा छत्रसाल के संघर्ष और वीरता से बड़ा उदाहरण क्या होगा.....

महाराजा छत्रसाल वो पहले शासके थे जिन्होंने गाँव में ' 'अथाई पंचायत' नामक व्यवस्था दी थी, अथाई वह जगह होती थी जहां गाँव के सभी वर्गों के सात जिम्मेदार लोग न्याय करते थे....

छत्रसाल असल मायनों में सामाजिक समरसता के प्रतीक हैं हिन्दू मुस्लिम ऊंच नीच का कोई भेद नहीं, योग्यता के अनुसार सबका सम्मान करना और दायित्व देना ये उनके व्यक्तित्व की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता थी

महाराज छत्रसाल बुंदेला ने 44 वर्ष के राजकाल में उन्होंने 52 युद्ध लड़े और सभी में उन्होंने विजय श्री हासिल की वे अपराजेय थे और जीवन के अंत तक अपराजेय ही रहे।

उनके इसी काल के दौरान भारत में प्रणामी संप्रदाय उभरा, प्राणनाथ जी भारतीय समाज में व्याप्त ऊंच नीच और भेदभाव के कारण एक नए सम्प्रदाय की स्थापना करते हैं, बुंदेला महाराजा छत्रसाल के वे गुरु थे।

महाराजा छत्रसाल ने ही सुप्रसिद्ध एवं प्राचीन कुंडलपुर जैन मंदिर में पुनः भगवान आदिनाथ की प्रतिमा स्थापित करवाई।

आज महाराजा छत्रसाल बुंदेला जी के जन्मदिवस के मौके पर उन्हें चरणों में कोटि कोटि नमन।
