I really hope the EWS income limit increases from 8 lakh to 10 lakh soon.

Last year my family income crossed slightly above 8 lakh, and because of that now I’m not eligible for an EWS certificate anymore. The problem is that our financial condition hasn’t suddenly become rich or comfortable just because income crossed the limit by a little amount.

I’m preparing for competitive exams, and losing EWS benefits is making me very stressed about cutoffs, and future opportunities. On top of that, I also have siblings whose education expenses are increasing every year.

Middle-class families are honestly struggling a lot with inflation, coaching fees, college fees, and daily expenses. The current 8 lakh limit feels outdated now.

Does anyone else feel the EWS income limit should be increased to 10 lakh considering today’s cost of living?

The term “Rajput of Maharashtra” feels too broad and geographically inaccurate. Historically and socially, Rajput communities in Maharashtra are primarily concentrated in the northern districts, especially in the North Maharashtra/Khandesh region. There are no Rajput in the southern parts of the state.

Because of this, the term “Rajput of North Maharashtra” would be more regionally and historically accurate than the broader label “Rajput of Maharashtra.”

This is not about creating division, but about representing identity more accurately. So adopting terms like “Rajput of North Maharashtra” would make more cultural and geographical sense.
