Quad Cities as a Transgender Woman.

Hello, I'm in the beginning stages of relocating to Moline/Illinois, but I'd really like some personal experiences. I just have a couple of questions.

Is Moline/QC reasonably safe for a transgender woman? I'm not asking about someone calling me "sir," i am asking if I going to get beaten for going for a morning run. Etc. Etc.

How's the queer community in general in the QC area?

What are some apartments to 100% avoid renting from?

I promise I'm 100% genuine in asking this. I'm not baiting, or trying to get engagement, just simply trying to find a place to relocate that is nearby family.

Here we go again with this guy

Hate giving this guy attention but man does this gimmick get old. Also the comments are about as cringe and boomer slop as you can imagine. Heaven forbid you disagree with him and him and his cronies will blast you all over their pages.

Chicago artist coming to Quad Cities 5/22

hey quad cities my name’s josh spinner. i’m an indie rock artist from chicago and i’m coming back to Raccoon Motel on may 22.

honestly not trying to make some annoying “buy tickets!!!” post lol. i care way more about people hearing the music first and deciding if they connect with it.

if you’re into bands like Pinegrove, Noah Kahan and John Mayer, i think you might like what i do.

i’ve been playing around chicago for a long time at rooms like Schubas Tavern, Lincoln Hall and Subterranean and every time we’ve come through quad cities the crowds have been insanely kind to us. genuinely one of my favorite places to play.

trying to make this next show the biggest one yet.

i’ll leave my music and the ticket link here if anyone wants to check it out

You know how Arby’s has a reputation of being gross but people still eat it. People online say who’s keeping Arby’s in business? That restaurant for me is checkers. Eating there feels like a sneaky link. Something about their hot chicken sandwich with the warm ass lettuce gets me.

Tips for a weekend summer bachelor party in QC

So there is a group of us going to the Quad Cities this summer for a bachelor party and looking for suggestions on things to do. We are planning on hitting up some breweries and casinos. I know the baseball team will be out of town that weekend, so just seeing if there are any fun or different interactive activities that I am missing or some bars that we have to go to? Thanks

Hosting a fantasy football draft in June, looking for a good bar/pub with a small event space in downtown Moline.

Pretty much as the title says.

I am the commissioner of a fantasy football league where half of the guys are not from the QC, but we’re all getting together in June to host our dynasty league’s rookie draft.

We’ll basically be larping, dressed to the 9s, and making a little ceremony out of it over beer.

As commish, I’m tasked with trying to figure out where we should host the damn thing, and Google hasn’t been too helpful thus far.

The criteria are as follows:

  1. Be in downtown Moline. We’re gonna bar hop a little after, so within walking distance at least of Broken Saddle and Take Cover would be ideal.

  2. Decent food and cheap(ish) beer. We’ll likely have dinner and a couple drinks while we’re doing our thing.

  3. A small(ish) event space that’s private enough to LARP the NFL draft with our dynasty rookies, but isn’t so large as there will only be 10 of us, maybe 12-15 if some mutual friends not involved with the league want to come out with us.

I know the River House has an event space, and I love their food and drinks, but their website says the space can fit considerably more than what we would need. I’m open to pretty much any recommendation as long as it’s downtown Moline, cheapish, and has the space!

Received our property tax bill for last year. They raised our taxes by $657. Every flipping year they do this. It's becoming un affordable to live in Rock Island county. With fuel, taxes, grocery cost's, Health Care, Prescription's and everything else going up like crazy you would think something would be getting done to help.

But apparently nobody cares because it just keep's getting worse and worse.

Where to learn how to shoot

How would someone who has never shot before learn how to shoot a handgun? I’ve seen places that let you rent the gun and buy the bullets with your range time, but that doesn’t help me much because I still don’t know how to use a gun. I have $100 that can be used for all of this, no more. Ideas?

I bet you complain about pride flags on peoples houses too. You get to deck out your yards, heads, bodies, cars, etc with Trump gear because of freedom of speech. Everyone else gets to parade their stuff too, even if it is anti-grown up garbage pail kid thats currently rotting in the white house. You just complained because you dont like what it says. Not because you think it looks "ugly"

Hey, just clarifying that Im not the complainer that made the post whining about a sign in someone's yard. I screenshot this post and shared it here. Here is link to original. yard sign complaint

What makes this place so popular? Genuinely curious how people have 30 minutes to wait in line for a coffee.

90% of the lot is blocked off and I there’s a heavy police presence. One red pick up truck looks wrecked but no other vehicles present. (None of the required flair seemed great, sorry about that)

Looking for recommendations specifically for contact eye exams. My insurance only pays for exams for glasses, so this will be all out of pocket.

In the past, I've used Eye Surgeons Associates and found them to have very long wait times, charge ridiculously high prices, and pushed "up charges" for additional tests that I kept telling them I had already had (I guess they thought I was lying?)

On the other end of the spectrum, I've used the doc at America's Best. There I found he couldn't find contacts that were my exact prescription (I have astigmatism in both eyes, one worse than the other), and so he would adjust the numbers to get a "fit." Did you know online companies will only allow you to order whatever brand the doc writes on the prescription? Not just the numbers, the BRAND? Ugh.

Please help. I'd like to find a decent place who isn't going to charge me $300 to look at my old ass eyes (I got progressives for the first time last fall😣), but who is going to find me contacts that I can actually wear and SEE! Tyia
