I have AA exp plat (OW emerald) status - after clearing customs and immigration and transferring to domestic terminal can I access any of the Qantas lounges?

BNE-SYD-LAX-LHR luggage allowance on AA

I'm flying the above route but I'm getting conflicting information about what luggage I'd be entitled to on the AA flight. I am bronze at the moment, but will be silver by departure.

I understand I'd get 3 x 32Kg on the BNE-SYD-LAX, but the rules around most significant carrier, OneWorld Status, and AA confuse me. Do I get the 3 bags at 32, or some other combination?

Can I select seats on rewards booking I make that’s for someone else?

If I book two seats for two family members (not linking bookings) can I as a platinum flyer who made and paid for the booking with rewards points move their seats into the economy rows up front that I can book for myself ?

Lounge access in Sydney on JQ and and qantas club?

Apologies if it’s been asked but I’m recovering from a broken leg so need to limit unnecessary walking hopefully.

I have Qantas club and JQ flight to Phuket on Friday can I access a lounge still and is there one in Phuket to access on way back in June?? Flying business rewards both ways. Is it located near the old lounge or is it a long walk at Sydney?

I believe the Qantas club lounge access may stop in July?

Qantas Award Flight Phantom

Curious how often Qantas award flights are phantom when it is a Qantas flight being operated and a Jetstar flight being operated. Was looking at an award booking and called the CS and they informed me there were no flights available that day. Pretty surprising for selling their own award and co owned airline award. Just curious others experience with this

Qantas Biohazard Incident (The Finale) ✈️

Appreciate everyone who shared advice and support on my original post — it made a real difference navigating this. I also want to acknowledge the role of the media in bringing visibility to the situation. Given some conflicting reports, I thought it would be helpful to clarify where things ultimately landed.

I proceeded with filing a claim through the New Zealand Disputes Tribunal, and following a recent hearing, the parties conferred and resolved the matter by settlement.

The core issue for me was never just the cost — it was accountability. In particular, ensuring that large corporations are held to the same consumer standards the rest of us are expected to meet — especially where safety critical aspects of passenger management is concerned.

To close the loop, I’ve personally donated the excess beyond my direct losses to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

More broadly, I’m hopeful the upcoming Aviation Consumer Ombuds Scheme in Australia will provide a clearer and more accessible pathway for others who find themselves in similar situations.

Thanks r/australian !

Business Class reward seats to Nadi (Fiji)

Found some reward availability from Sydney to Nadi across mid-November. Seeing Business Class from around 43,600 Qantas Points + $115 AUD taxes pp. Non-stop (4h) which is solid for a quick getaway. Found this using Gyoza Flights.

Perth Qantas Club lounge access

Hi everyone, I’m flying on the 23:45 flight from Perth to Melbourne on 7 May and I’m unable to link a complimentary lounge pass to my trip to use the lounge in Perth. Any ideas why?

App I vibe coded to help me track my card churn. You may find it useful

www.getinterval.app

Completely free. Made it because I was tired of using spreadsheets to track my spend and lockout periods. Maybe you guys find it useful

EDIT: you will need to make sure you enter the correct lockout periods when you add a card; its not coded in as banks keep changing them.

Points Club Plus worth it??

Hi all, gold QFF. I’m about 20,000 points short of a points club plus with about 2 weeks left.

I could get these points by bringing forward a iPhone purchase.

What’s peoples thoughts on Points Club Plus? Is this even worth bothering with?

I’m pretty underwhelmed with the Qantas lounge experience and I only travel with Qantas 2-3 times so seems like a limited benefit to me. Interested to hear people’s thoughts.

Hi Guys,

We are planning on getting a Qantas Card from Nab as they have free insurance and to take advantage of over 100k of points.

We would be settling on a new home and plan to purchase furnitures and appliances using the card.

Would these be eligible or counted as everyday spend?

Thank you!

Plan is use mine for furnitures and wife for appliances

Apple are doing coffee machines now?

…Well, okay, not quite. But I just thought this looked funny when I was in the Qantas App just now. 🤣

Credit Card Bonus Points Exclusion Periods

Are exclusion periods exclusive to banks/banking groups or is it across ANY QFF points earning credit card?

For example can you move from one CC at bank A, cancel and apply for a CC at unaffiliated bank B and be eligible for bonus points?

Loyalty bonus

Greetings fellow flyers,

Can a 50 SC loyalty bonus be put towards a subsequent membership year or does the bonus expire at the end of the membership year? I am aware the bonus must be claimed within 90 days of achieving the requisite SC.

Thank you in advance 🙏
