surf research student looking for housing June 1 - July 31

Hi I'm a surf research student looking to rent a room from June 1 - July 31.

Preferences:

Location: Within walking distance to campus
Budget: Flexible, but maxing out at $800-900/month (the cheaper, the better!).
Environment: Clean, quiet, and well-maintained living spaces.
Prefer a furnished room.
No need for parking.
Bus: Close to the bus routes would be a plus but not necessary.

I’ll be busy with research and internship back at my room for most of the day. I’m easygoing, clean, and respectful of shared spaces. I’m happy to room with other SURF students or join an existing group looking to offset their summer rent! I'm also open to solo studio/1BR subleases if the price is right.

💲 $800/month ($400/person) + utilities (electric, gas, and internet)

📏 900-950 sq ft

🅿️ 1 free parking space per tenant

⊞ High ceilings and large windows

🛠️ Leasing office is helpful and responsive with any apartment issues

📸 Pictures include the available bedroom; closet doors were removed, but can be reattached

✍️ Leasing office requires that all occupants be formalized on the lease, which should be easy to revise at any time

ℹ️ I am currently a fifth-year Ph.D student at Purdue (27, M). My roommate is moving out in July, but I am expecting to graduate in or around December 2026; I am looking for a new roommate for the Fall 2026 semester.

After this point, I'm expecting to move out and need a full lease takeover for the remainder of the academic year. You are free to take over the full lease yourself, or I can search for an additional roommate.
