That's what happens when you look at yourself in old mirrors in ruined castles

All that to say that I’m currently finalizing Yalroc Island demo, and you’ll be able to play it soon on steam, along with kickstarter campaign.

From now on, only bug fixing

Did this game really come in 2008m

I'm a big Prince of Persia fan and have played the Games in Chronological order, starting from Sands Trilogy. But the POP 2008, is just a drop down gorgeous game. Anytime I look at the screen, I wonder if the game came in 2008 or by early 2020.

The Visuals, the Art style, the Healing and hopeful music, the Constant yet charming exchange between Elka and the Prince, the Bosses, and sometimes even the Parkour although very limited is satisfying. The prince and Elka have a lot of soul to their characters, that you can connect with.

The only elephant in the room is, collecting the light seeds post boss battle, repetitive boss battles and the AI generated Character expressions when talking. I'm seriously loving this game!!! I think the vibe they went for this game is for it to be an End to End Visual novel, which explains the lack of combat in the middle of each stage. But the light seeds collection, does break the immersion.

We can clearly see the early signs of Ubisofts slop in there, with Computer generated cutscenes when talking with Elka and also with having the Game play loop to ensure quantity (light seeds) over quality.

With the way modern open world gaming is currently, i couldn't help but notice , how fast I was able to complete an area and move, which further adds to the immersion. For those tight scheduled gamers out there, i genuinely believe these yesteryear games, are the cure to get your day today gaming fix. I mean you don't get distracted with a ton of side quests and minor collectibles like in the modern games. Adding some photos, as a love letter to this game.

PS - I'm yet to complete the game, there are still few pending areas still, and i know the game ends anticlimactic, I just don't know how, so plz no spoilers.

I sat on The Lost Crown for too long

I have just started on The Lost Crown this month when i saw that it was in the PS Plus catalogue.

I have loved PoP since the first entry showed up on my PC some how. I particularly loved Sands of Time and Warrior within on my xbox.

i never played any of the games after that due to lack of a system to play them on (i went from a xbox to a wii (which i as addicted to and pretty much only played rythm games on) to a ps4 and now a ps4)

I saw a new PoP game was coming out a while ago and saw that it was going back to being a 2d platformer and thought pfft, that sucks.

let me tell you, im loving it. at the start i thought it was a bit meh, but having gotten some extra abilities like the bow and the air dash, its really damn good. the combat is challenging without being impossible, the puzzles are great, even the map works really well.

it has reignited my POP fire. I was looking for a cheap ps3 to play GTA IV on but i think i will also break out some of the old unplayed POP games too.

Will I need a new (OLD) computer to play this Masterpiece?

I heard I will need to cap my FPS to actually play this game without getting softlocked. My PC is very overkill for this game. I am capping my framerate to 59FPS from AMD Software. Also I am on Windows 10 Pro. Hardware specs,

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, GPU: AMD RX580 8GB, RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz, Storage: 1TB NVME SSD

Concubine from Prince of Persia 2008

Wanted to draw some of the Prince of Persia 2008 stuff. I really liked the bosses in it, they had personalities. Just people who sold their soul to Ahriman.
For example Concubine had been beaten down cause of jealousy or something and had lost her influence in a court alongside her beauty. She sold her soul to gain shapeshifting and illusion powers to regain what she had lost.

She looks different in-game and on concept art, so I've mixed them up a bit.

This part of the series is special for me, because it was the first one I've played. Later I played through all trilogy and also 2008 reboot. I loved them all, especially the ost of the Warrior Within, but the dark prince conception is just too cool.

P.s. If anyone cares – I've got inspired by the artstyle of the Battle Chasers Nightwar game.

My favorite official art from WW. I found the highest resolution of this image that I could. (Not upscaled) Then I added the game's logo on Photoshop, finally got this printed at Fedex & bought the frame separately. Turned out exactly how I wanted, it's huge like a movie theater poster.

Prince of Persia-thon: The Forgotten Sands (finished)

I'm currently playing through every PoP game for the first time. Game #3 on this journey was The Forgotten Sands (Steam version), and I've officially rolled credits after about 7ish hours.

I loved how deliberate the movement in this game felt. Having a dedicated wall-run button was weird to me for a while, but I liked the extra challenge it provided. The design of these levels also rewarded thinking ahead. There were a lot of times I would charge into an obstacle without thinking about it (something I could easily do in PoP 2008) and have to burn through some energy rewinding time. Stopping, surveying the upcoming obstacle, then executing it was very satisfying.

The setpieces in this game are also phenomenal. In particular, I loved >! The final platforming segment where pieces of the palace are flying at you from all angles. It wasn't particularly challenging or mechanically intensive, but the spectacle of it had me smiling throughout !<

Unfortunately, this is where most of my praises for it end. The story is pretty boring, and the characters aren't interesting. The relationship between Malik and the Prince could've been better elaborated, and Razia's history with Ratash and the Djinn could've been better developed. Also >! was the post credits monologue trying to setup a sequel or something? That was a really weird way to end the game !<

The combat grew stale quickly, and the upgrade tree is ultimately kind of pointless. I played the challenge mode (defeat 8 waves of enemies) and beat it first try. Maybe there's some fun to be had trying to beat the waves faster.... but it's not for me. The best part of the combat was the dash move that let's you cover a gap/distance and plow over an enemy when you land. I wish that more of the abilities had both platforming AND combat applications.

This entry fell flat in quite a few places, but the platforming and setpieces were an easy high point for me. This must've been a hard game to "end" the series on before the most recent revival with Lost Crown. That wait must've been excruciating for those into the series at the time.

Thanks for coming on this journey with me! Which game should I play next on this marathon?

#1 The Rogue PoP

#2 PoP 2008

#3 The Forgotten Sands (Steam)

#4 ???

Copy X from MegaMan Zero series had a better pacing and conclusion than Thomyris from Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

In Prince of Persia The Lost Crown 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Thomyris was concluded within 3 minutes, >!Sargon walked into the throne hall with zero witnesses and evidences, he cried that King Darius was murdered then walked away!<

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

In MegaMan Zero series .💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥

>!Zero challenged Copy X twice before his death 💪💪💪💪, Zero actually organized an armed resistance to resist Copy X's tyranny and injustice🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪, Zero's rebellion against Copy X took 3 games, Copy X was concluded through a betrayal and an assassination by one of his followers who betrayed him to gain power and control 💪💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, Zero also challenged and defeated Copy X's most elite soldier units and complements the four guardians🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪 !<

There's no way Prince of Persia the lost crown works as a standalone game, the story needs additional two sequels at least, Sargon's rebellion against Thomyris needs a standalone sequel at least.

MegaMan Zero series is available on steam on MegaMan Zero/ZX Legacy collection for those who want to try it.

The story of Megaman Zero is pure glory and legend.

Vote for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within & The Two Thrones on Xbox!🙏

Not too long ago, I was happily ready to play WW on my newly acquired xbox360 under the impression that it would run well.

Well… it doesn’t💀

I was confused because I thought the 360 had hardware from the OG xbox and would run it just fine. This is not the case, and the fact that it’s been as such is so worrisome.

Warrior Within and Two Thrones need to be preserved on xbox consoles, it can’t just be Sands of Time😭

Where am I?

Hi all. Playing through FS and I’m stuck in this room. But because there’s no map or anything I don’t have a clue how to look up the solution.
The forced contextual camera is not helping me either.

Edit: solves it. (Solution below)

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on developing realistic environmental scenes using the High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) in Unity, and I would greatly appreciate insights from experienced developers and artists.

Could you please share your recommendations, workflows, or best practices for achieving high-quality, realistic environmental design in HDRP? I am particularly interested in areas such as lighting techniques, material setup, terrain detailing, asset optimization, and post-processing.

Additionally, any advice on common pitfalls to avoid or resources (tutorials, tools, or references) would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.
