This is absolute bullshit it compeletely destroys the story of the game. I remember me as a kid seeing gametoons animations after poppy playtime 3 came out and actually I thought everything I saw was in the game.
In the Biodiversity Labs, you'll eventually find this plant monster thing and have to destroy all the yellow growths on the plant. I was waiting for something to happen, but nothing ever does. No chase sequence, no jumpscare, it feels like Mob Entertainment was going to do something with it, but didn't have enough time to finish this part of the game. What do you guys think?
Like the only good part is the horror. It is the most scary poppy playtime game. The nightmare scene is amazing, and the designs for catnap and ms delight are great. Plus the atmosphere is really good. But besides that it kinda is mid.
The gameplay is boring. It’s way worse than 5. At least in 5 all the puzzles are different. Here so many puzzles are so repetitive. And there are way more puzzles then in 5 and no they aren’t spaced better. Home sweet home and the councilor office are just puzzles. Ms delights section while having an enemy is still just a puzzle. And then there’s all the cave puzzles. Plus the catnap boss fight is awful.
Like besides the boss fights it’s really boring, the mini critter section is not fun. There’s also a lot of walking.
Also while I did like catnap being more of a threat behind your back, there was so little of him.
And while the story it added was good, the characters were all flat.
Also I don’t know why people think the animation is better than 5, there are tons of glitches and errors. The only error I’ve seen in 5 was huggy holding a non existent wall.
Like I have my issues with 5, the first third is really boring, though fixed lilys chase is still bad, and there isn’t much horror, it’s still better. At least unlike 4 it had an unsettling factor again, being ms Gracie. It also was fun besides the first third with characters who weren’t one dimensional. And the prototype boss fight (yeah it’s not a chase it’s a boss fight) was actually fun to do.
To be clear I’m not saying chapter 3 is bad. If I were to rank chapters it’s my second favorite, with 5 in front (total ranking would be 5 3 4 2 1 project playtime Roblox games). I’m just saying it’s not as good as people said. People are like “this was the best mascot horror game ever and all the other chapters are horrible” and that’s really not true. It’s good but not that good.
I would have loved to see Doey transform into the other monsters we've encountered to scare us. I'm not the biggest fan of these drawings but they sum up my ideas pretty well. I think this would have made the game even scarier and also funner. The Huggy design is definitely my least favourite and I went to over the top on the drooping dough which just makes it look like scribbling lines and the camera makes them worse.
Bellow is my idea of how chapter 4 would have played out if Doey was like this but I wouldn't blame you for not reading it.
After the rubble falls on him. Doey pokes his head out with his mouth drooping down but the rest of him is fine though. You run past him and go up the elevator. The music stops and you feel safe. You go across the zip line and end up on the other side. There are two doors but one of them is shut. You walk up to the other one then Doey, who is taken on the form of Huggy however he has many holes as he's not used to this form, reaches its head around the corner. He climbs out in his large body and starts chasing you down on all fours. The other door opens and you run through, entering the caves. It's the same as the one in game but more condensed to be like Huggy's chase in chapter 1. At the end you climb through a small hole. He grabs your leg but the rubble falls on his arm chopping off part of his hand, allowing you to escape. You can see the dough melt as if he lost control of it so you know how to damage him.
You drop down into a sewer and all you can hear is the water dripping. Get to a shut metal door and when you turn around you see a sewer grate fall from the roof. Then Doey, taking the form of Mommy Long Legs reaches down with her hands and pulls herself out. The door opens and you continue the chase scene, going through very tight sewer tunnels similar to Chapter 2. You run to a conveyor belt and go down while Mommy waves at you and walks off. You get to the main Doey boss arena but in this layout it's just a straight line. Mommy crawls down from the roof and starts chasing you again. She corners you so she stops right underneath a saw blade to yell at you. We pull down the saw and chop off her head and it falls to the ground, lifeless, and the rest of her body panics and crawls away. Her head melts as we dropped down the fence, which Mommy broke. Instead of going down to the Doey boss, we enter a panic room.
Doey has taken on the form of Catnap. We scan our hand and a door opens but down at the end of the hall, where we see Catnap's really long and extended tail with a sharp point at the end, quickly move past our vision. We walk down the hall but Catnap charges at us and knocks us through a door. We quickly get up and run into a grid-like room. We would have a hunting/roaming sequence with Catnap. At the end of the hunting sequence we would open a door and Catnap would chase us through. We would pull out a freezing canister and it would attach to Catnap. We freeze him and do a hand scan which drops a door on Catnap crushing him. We run away but he would morph back into Doey and start crawling up.
We would go for a small gap though and enter the boss arena. This would work very similarly to how it does in game, however Doey would be in the form on the drawing, with holes throughout all of him since he's lost lots of dough but also missing his legs so he would slime around if you get what I mean. After you beat Doey and you're walking through the door, into where the crushing room would be but its just a long hallway, you enter a cutscene where you turn around and see Doey shifting into his form again. He looks up at you and screams.
You run through the room but the door at the end opens and you see the prototype's hand reach around the corner and his leg appear so you hide in a little crack in the wall. You see Doey run in and realize the prototype's there. He charges at him but you hear Doey scream and the prototype laugh. You hear Doey run away and the prototype says "You can run but you can't hide. You've lost all your companions and I'll find you another time but for now I have someone else to deal with" then the prototype reaches his hand through the crack but we escape into another hallway. You can faintly hear a very small jingle from his bells to hint he was a jester. We walk through the hallway for a little while then enter the crushing room and Doey (bleeding heavily and you can see organs deep inside of his body) grabs us and does his speech but this time mentions how we ruined our chances of killing the prototype and we're all going to die. We kill him like normal and the rest of the game finishes like normal.
I know this is a little over the top and I think the one in game is better since its more simple because Doey isn't the main enemy but instead a way to show the damage we have done to the toys in the factory by how turned on us. I just would have liked to see Doey turn into the other toys we have faced in a terrifying way. Also I would have liked it if we saw the prototype fight and win against Doey to make him seem even more threatening to hype up chapter 5 and end the debate on who would win since obviously the prototype would since in lore he's the strongest in the factory and no one can compete with him so this ending would show that even more. This would have also hinted at his jester design since fans who don't keep up with all the latest theories and photos mob posts had no clue he would be a jester and where a little confused at launch. Also this would have extended the game too much since people already say it's too long but what do you guys think?
For me, the biggest problem has alaways been the puzzles, most of them feel really filler, most lack any kind of horror aspect to them, even in chapter 3, which had the best puzzles in my opinion, still kinda suffered from the too many puzzles aspect, like alot of the puzzles have cool scary atmosphere around them, but sometimes its not there, like the concilers offices which was JUST puzzles.
I would say chapter 5 is the guiltiest of this, while there are less puzzles then in chapter 3 (Good job on that mob!) its the one with the worst puzzles because there is almost never any horror aspect to them, the labs are too bright and lit up that its not a scary place at all to solve puzzles, and some of the puzzles just frankly suck, like in some point in chapter 5 you gotta pull these 2 battries somewhere while having the grey hand keep pressusre up and that was not fun at all. (And for some of the optional puzzles, its not clear they are optional at all)
But in saying all of this, the huggy part in chapter 5 was the best use of puzzles, there is a horror aspect (In huggy hunting you, even if his AI kinda sucked and was too easy) you had to stealth around him while doing puzzles. And the yarnaby part, miss delight, and the mini critters all are great examples of what puzzles should mostly be like in poppy to me. I hope for chapter 6 mob will listen to the outcry of puzzles being too tedious/lacking horror and add horror, like scary atmosphere or threats. I think the best move is to make more huggy/yarnaby/miss delight/mini critter parts in future games, but more fleshed out in mechanics and longer in length.
(No Prototype) I’d Chose Catnap, With Huggy In Close Second
my personal opinion is that is that kissy died and huggy survived huggy will return with vengeance in the next chapter. also, due to chum’s association with him, I think it’s possible he might’ve saved huggy.
if both of them did die, though I can accept that huggy was really well utilize in chapter 5 and his return was definitely worth it, tho it would hurt a little to not to have him in the final chapter.(if 6 is the final chapter) this would make for a pretty tragic end for both of them.
Let me know what you think of this.
I don’t even think he’s scared of it though. This damn second grader knows all about the fnaf lore too
please tell me, I’m uncomfortable around him now.
kinda look like a undertale boss fight
