Perfect order ain’t that bad

Not top tier, but not bottom either. Based on several objective findings, including total set value, top chase card value and number of cards valued at greater than $80, it puts it in the mid tier range. When you see Journey together and Temporal Forces ETB’s over $100, getting perfect order ETB‘s at widely available MSRP is looking pretty genius here, the equivalent of waiting for Ascended Heroes to go from $140 to $280 or prismatic to go from $175 to $350. I am doubtful they will be printing Perfect Order into the ground.

If card shops are selling their products above MSRP, why don’t we call them “scalping shops”?

Isn’t this just a professionalized / upscaled version of standing outside a Best Buy machine to resell at a higher price later? Why do card shops avoid the vitriol reserved for the unsophisticated scalpers?

Ran into actual scalpers for the 1st time today.

Are they really all working together and just mean spirited towards chasers or people trying to get cards on purpose or is it just a greed type of thing?

I thought tins were suppose to be 9.99 did target raise their prices? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad I was able to get some but I just noticed this and maybe it’s more cause it’s a special set? Does anybody know if that’s the case?

Good Time to Sell?

Bought 2 of these from Costco when they came out a few years back. I know the value has gone up quite a bit in the last 18 months, opinions on if its time to sell, or if people think the value is going to continue to climb. thanks!

PKC ETBS long term

Have a few PKC ETBS and with the recent run up is it smart to sell them and get other items or are these still top tier. Been thinking of getting some slabs but sealed is usually the best choice?

Does prismatic tins have “made in” or “printed in” on the back?

Had this buyer say these were fake tins when I bought them from Barnes and nobles. He claimed it didn’t have the “made in” on the back after checking with a card shop but every picture and even the tins I have on hand (from Costco 8 pack) all say “assembled in.” Is there something I’m missing or is the buyer just making excuses to return the tins?

Second pic is our tins and third pic is a known ebay sellers tins.

Obscure Hide and Seek Promo in Japan Buyback Radar for 900000 Yen

For those who dont know, this is a Japan exclusive promo that was released through a campaign in 2001 and given to passengers on domestic ANA flights between July and September.

The set has two cards, Larvitar and Pikachu, where they are basically playing hide and seek, with each card showing the silhouette of the other Pokemon in the artwork.

The current PSA 10 population for Pikachu alone is only around 300+ so seeing sequential PSA 10 copies going for around 900000 yen (roughly 5600 USD) is honestly not that surprising.

Still really cool to suddenly see the rising interest in these more obscure promos and learn about the history behind them!

Is there any point investing in modern singles?

Hopefully not a basic question. Just getting back into it all. Stopped playing after Pearl. Have a binder full of base set in some box somewhere.

My logic is clear in terms of sealed - buy at mrsp if I can and save some open some.

My logic is less clear for singles/slabs. Why buy most singles/slabs post ~2017 when the psa9 or 10 populations are so high? Is it not wiser going for earlier cards, especially when considering ungraded, psa, and populations. Or am I missing something.

Raw Pokemon singles

Hey all, newbie to Pokemon, but very familiar with Magic the Gathering and Sports cards

How well do Pokemon singles (non graded) cards sell? Specifically NON-NM cards. Is tcgplayer still the best online pricing?

For background, I run a partnership business selling/vending Magic the Gathering. While there certainly is a graded scene in magic, values and collectibility are largely based on playability, particularly in commander formats as well as "Reserve list" cards. Condition obvious matters but isnt the main focus due to a large proportion of players looking to just obtain a cheap copy at the expense of lesser condition.

My understanding of Pokemon is that its largely given by graded PSA 10 MINT popularity "PSA 10 or bust." More similar to Sports cards than Magic.

I plan to expand our business to include Pokemon sealed but singles scare me because I feel like if they aren't MINT they wont move. Since playing the game is less common compared to Magic (at least where I live) so playability is not much of a factor.

Let me know your thoughts. Much appreciated

I ordered this on eBay about a month ago for $99 US dollars since being shipped and receiving now it seems to have doubled in value.

do you think world promos like this will continue to grow. or is this just part of the current hype train?
