Full level 5 weapons/armour still in the first biome and I’m trying to find a reason to fight the enemies at POIs instead of just running past them.

When there are 5+ enemies that are all damage sponges despite my weapons being as strong as I can get them right now and me still dying in 3-4 hits what’s the point?

What kind of weapons are you guys loving right now? For me, the Halberd and Greatsword have been awesome to use.

Okay so let me preface by saying I love the game, I’m like 70 hours in and am in the swamp now. I am just a little confused about why the scaling is so severe once you get here, my character is level 12 but all the enemies in any poi are all level 15. I’ve played the game solo the whole way through and have had a decent bit of trouble out of enemies but once you get to the swamp you have to just run around and kite the enemies for 15 minutes just to not die. The plagued hunters in specific areas awful to play against since you can only challenge one at a time while the other one(or more) just sit back and volley spears at you (which by the way do posture damage even if you aren’t blocking) so I was just curious if any other solo players have thought that the swamps seem quite over tuned or if it’s just me

I'm developing a software to allow users to share their save file autonomously. This means when the host is offline you can still play their world without them being online. I need two friends that play together to send me a message if they are comfortable moving save files between PCs.

Here's the scenario, if I buy a plan for building blocks from a rep vendor in Tortuga, my coop players can't build them. Is this intended?

Hey all. I know this is the Windrose sub, so usually I’d expect the answer to be windrose. But in this case I’m not sure:

Solely on steamdeck (it’s all I have): I was about to buy valheim but then saw this game and it seems awesome and I like the theme better. Like always i checked SD compatibility and it seems iffy. I don’t care if graphics aren’t super sharp, I just want a game that runs well and controls aren’t too wacky.

Would you suggest giving this game a go or just trying out Valheim?

After the latest update, some players are experiencing corrupted save files. Here’s a working fix using a clean save from another player.

Person A (Corrupted Save Files)

Person B (Non-Corrupted Save Files)

⚠️ Warning

This method copies the character of Person B. Your original progress will be completely lost.

This fix is mainly intended for players who were playing duos or similar setups with roughly the same progress, so the transferred save still matches your progression.

Steps for Person B (the one with a working save)

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. Type: %appdata%
3. Navigate to: AppData → Local → R5 → Saved → SaveProfiles → YourSteamID
4. Copy the entire folder
5. Compress it into a .zip file
6. Send the .zip file to Person A

Steps for Person A (the one with corrupted saves)

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. Type: %appdata%
3. Navigate to: AppData → Local → R5 → Saved → SaveProfiles
4. Find your own SteamID folder
5. Delete it
6. Extract the folder you received from Person B into this location
7. Rename the folder to match your own SteamID

Final Steps

1. Launch the game
2. Edit your character name (if needed)
3. You're good to go!

💡 Important: This replaces your corrupted save with a clean one so you can keep playing.

With how limited inventory space can be, there’s often times things I find in chests that I just don’t want to take, but the chest won’t count as looted until you take everything out, so you have to do some silly shuffle of dropping items, clearing the chest, dropping those, picking up the items you do do. It’s just a waste of time, and serves no function or theme. Inevitably there is going to be 20 comments telling me I’m just complaining, but little things like this add up and make the game more frustrating and tedious than it needs to be.

Hey guys, just unlocked the brig and I wanted to know what was your opinions of that ship.

I currently haven't done much with her yet, but I felt the upgrade over the ketch pretty underwhelming. So far with the basic ketch I was able to take on 3 lvl 5 ships so I hoped getting the brig would allow me to take on lvl 8 ships with ease. Unfortunately my only encounter with those kind of ships was rather disappointing. The upgrade in power isn't that high (and yes I even went with the version that carries 24 pounders) and the level 8 ships completely destroyed me.

I would recommend skipping her altogether and straight up going for the frigate, but maybe some of you have different opinions about this ship ?

I've been playing a lot since the release a few days ago and thought a few of my little discoveries might help someone.

1. Resources in caves, animals, clay etc reset after 6 real life hours irregardless of whether you play on a server or solo (I play solo)

2. Upgrading weapons, armor, cannons, and especially boarding all make a lot more of a difference than you might think. It's worth it.

3. Dodge is OP, but is tied to stamina so prioritize stamina points/food/etc

4. Buyers for the various factions items are located at their specific bases. Each faction has a provisioner (not the same as a buyer!) and bounty buyer at Tortuga

5. Combat fairness is questionable especially with regard to groups of baddies - you can use the building options to fence yourself or groups of enemies together. I've stood on a ruins wall with dogs attacking and just fenced them in by building a fence around them.

6)You can change the options for your world at any point by clicking on "edit" when your world is highlighted after the main menu... you can change immersion settings, difficulty etc

7. You can actually take your character and start a new world and collect supplies and take them back to your world. It's cheesy but it works

8. If you want to skip to the next sea shanty hit B to tell em to shut it, then hit B again and they'll start singing a different song

9. Caves have bizzarely hidden exits once you're inside. Build a torch at the entrance to find it quickly when you're done mining.

I was just working my way through the "Blackbeard Ruins Excavation Site" mission (where you have to battle something like 2 dozen high-level opponents), and wanted to take a break after killing off about 75% of them, but when I restarted the game they were ALL BACK! Every single one I had killed before was alive again.
My respawn tent was within the premises, and when I left I was right there as well (actually, I had just finished looting one of the locations, and was looking for the next one), but none of that helped. I had to start all over...

So if anyone dies they are locked out of the fight entirely. If the survivor kills the boss only they get credit for it and everyone else is just screwed out of the completion on it. The boss chamber is locked as completed. Unless there is a hidden timer my roommate is just not able to do it now.
