Tankmates for platys?

I am (finally!) down to my 3 ladies, and some fry I'm letting live until they get a bit bigger to separate. Looking for something to compliment my 20G tank, ideally for some population control since it's a smaller tank but not a deal breaker since I take larger babies to the LFS. I had a koi betta that lived over a year or so and was my centerpiece fish until he passed unexpectedly.. Would like something that goes with their color (orange, black, white, calico). I have 2 albino corys in there too, and some skrimpys. Tried a gold dwarf ram but he suddenly passed after 2 weeks(water tested fine...) Not sure if I should try another, get a pair, or what my other options are. Thank you for your input! Still newer but learning and want my tank to thrive.

10 gallon, planted (1 plastic plant also), cycled (0ammonia, 0nitrite, 5nitrate) aquarium. Temp is at 74 Fahrenheit with heater. Three boy platies are the only inhabitants. One is significantly bigger than the others (and the only non-hifin, if that matters).

Two fish went in on Saturday evening, one this morning. The biggest platy is NOT a good roommate.

I’m seeing unprovoked chasing and nipping almost nonstop. The big guy just switches between two victims.

I love these little guys already, and I’m worried that stress will make it much harder for the two smaller fish to adjust to their new tank, much less thrive. I have an empty 5 gallon spare hospital tank, but another tank is a LAST resort. Any and all advice appreciated!

Variatus Hybrids

Need advice from anyone who’s bred variatus hybrids. So my female variatus is pregnant by a blue wag male. So far she’s aborted 3 of the hybrid fry. They seem premature. Is this normal or should I be concerned? She still appears to be pregnant. Should I move her to a quarantine tank? I’m not sure if any other fry survived.

My girl here keeps her fin clamped, now I see that it's beginning to get a greenish tint to it. Is it fin rot?

Is that a female Platy?

It’s been sold to us as one, but not sure. Also she (assuming) is super aggressive towards everyone in the tank.

So we got her in december and she has always looked like this, none of the other fish we got from there look like that. Is she deformed or something.

It she swims, behaves, poops and eats normally so whatever it is it does not seam to effect her.

I'm not sure if this exists or has been done before, but my plan is to hopefully get solid 'white'/clear platies. Got this idea after I got tiger platies and realized how transparent the females were, with the eggs and fully developed larvae being clearly visible, as well as very clear gills and organs. (Although can be difficult to see in photos but in person is super obvious.)

Currently I'm on my first generation and already got some good candidates, I was worried that it would be hard to get a mostly white male as colors are usually more prominent in males, however one of the juveniles I caught seems to be a male and is now chasing the female (Who unfortunately male of been fertilized before I moved to a seperate tank, but still has the clear appearance I'm looking for)

I kinda want to be able to breed them without the black tails, unless people think that's more desirable. Here's some photos of my current stock and the tiger stock to show the transparency.

I actually am not sure if there are any solid white (established) platy morphs, the closest I could think of is the coffee morph, when you search white platy most examples are solid white molly, with a few exceptions. So if there is an existing glass belly or even high quality white breed I'd love to know.

I have a 72l tank with a few fish including 3 platies (initially - got them mid February)

It was 2 females and a male and they had babies - we currently have 5 of various sizes some of which I have moved to a different tank

The male platy suddenly started acting unwell, not swimming, lethargic and so on. We moved him to a different tank to try and treat but it was too late ☹️

Now one of the female platies is acting similar way, hiding a lot, not very interested in food. The other female platy is very energetic and still eating (possibly a bit frantic - appears to be surfing up and down the side of tank as in photo)

Have tested the water and it's within normal levels, the ph a bit high. The other fish (minnows, rasboras, barbs) and shrimp appear fine

Not sure what the issue is and am fairly new to this - any advice?

Looking after my friends fish temporarily. I’ve kept fish before but never livebearers, so I’m not sure what to look for.
One of the females is quite plump, and I’m wondering if she might be pregnant. She spends a lot of time hiding near the substrate and decorations, and the only male in the tank follows her constantly.
I’ve also noticed her vent area looks way more prominent than usual.
Does this sound like pregnancy, or could she just be overweight which is my friends opinion? If it is pregnant how do I maximise the ammount of babies that survive/ don’t get eaten by the other fish?

I’ve had this platy a couple months now and she’s always looked terrible clamped fins very thin not as hungry constantly fighting with every other fish in the tank I’ve treated her for parasites and done my best to make her happy but nothing helps anyone have any insights? Or potential treatments?

She hides behind driftwood and plants. She just came up to the surface and open her mouth. The ammonia, nitrite are 0 and nitrate 10.

She lives alone with shrimps

I’ve been gently moving them into a breeder box as I spot them, but so far we are up to six. Fry weren’t the plan, but I am still new to Platy fish and didn’t realize how easily they reproduce. (I only had the one female)

Concern for my blue wag

I noticed her acting a little off on Monday so a week ago, she slowly just got worse.. I thought she was dead this morning but she is still alive.. what do I do? I don’t think she has had any babies for a few months, she has been thin, but normally after she gives birth she is thin until she’s pregnant again.. all the parameters are good, the ammonia was 0, the nitrite is 0, the ph is 7, the nitrite was 0 and the temperature is 78-79. The water and tank has been cleaned and there is a pleco living in the tank with aome bladder snails that I’ve been slowly removing.. I did a full water change at the first of April, because the water hadn’t been changed just added to over the winter. So far since the snails are in the tank there are some dark spots on the side of the glass.. I cleaned them off last week but there are some more.. and I’ve noticed some babies recently I’m not sure which fish had them.

What is wrong with this fry

She was born 4.5 months ago and while her siblings are near adult size, she is a lot smaller and weirdly long. She does also struggle as she will swim to the top of the tank and then after a few moments fall back down again, she also seams to get tired more easily than the other fish. She mostly slides / swims around the bottom.

None of her siblings or any other fry have had this problem so I presume it is not and infection and she is able to eat and poop normally and does fight other fish if they are on a rock that she likes to lie on.
