So TLDR there's a girl I like and she doesn't just like pickles, she's pickle crazy and I am not a pickles guy so it's hard for me to pick.
So I need help picking some ideas of pickles I can get her for her birthday. I looked at a few posts and it seems Grillos and Claussens tend to be recommended often, but I'm open to others too!
I know she likes savory foods more than sweet, but I just don't know enough about pickles to know that I'm picking well. I also don't know if just grocery store pickles are the best, or if there are some designer pickles that are much better?
Any of you been to Tommy's Joynt in San Francisco, CA? Excellent food and best of all they have a giant barrel of free self service sliced pickles that really goes well with their corned beef, etc. Wondering if there are any other spots with similar pickle barrels?
Is this not literally a bite??? I bought a container from costco (unopened) but i couldn’t find a smaller piece in the entire thing that matched this one. Should I throw the container out or is that a little dramatic?

I can’t stop drinking the brine - it hits different than any other pickle juice I’ve had.
I love pickles and everything pickle adjacent but after seeing ppl say how gross the pickle moonshine is, I’m legit scared to try this.
I always see these as the most popular favorites and I’ve never tried Bubbies and rarely Claussen. I grew up on vlassic or any shelf stable kosher dill, but recently (past 4-5 months) switched to Grillo’s. I wanted to give them all a shot to see if I’m missing out!

My notes:
Bubbies: the texture was snappy but they smell like sea water and have a… sewage taste. It’s seriously lacking in tang but the ~fecal~ aroma just overpowered everything. Something feels wrong and off about them after the initial smack in the face with salt.
Claussen: the skin is way too tough and the flesh is snappy. Insane salt. So so salty.
Grillo’s: crunchy and dilly. Sour but mild enough to snack on like 32 of them at a time.
