Panini UEFA Euro 2016 France Sticker Album – A modern classic from a historic tournament

The Panini UEFA Euro 2016 France sticker album is one of the cleanest and most visually polished collections Panini has ever released. With its sleek layout, vibrant national team pages, and updated player portraits, it perfectly captures the modern era of international football collecting.

This album marked an important shift, as UEFA expanded the tournament to 24 teams for the first time. That meant more squads, more players, and a deeper, more diverse collection—something collectors really appreciated. The sticker quality was solid, and the design felt premium compared to earlier editions.

As for the tournament itself, Euro 2016 delivered plenty of drama. Hosted in France, it ended with a surprising victory for Portugal, who won their first major international trophy. Despite losing Cristiano Ronaldo early in the final due to injury, Portugal managed to defeat the host nation France 1-0 after extra time, with Eder scoring the decisive goal—one of the most unexpected moments in European Championship history.

“Possible Panini Phoenix Sheet-Shift Error – Multiple Wrong-Back Cards Pulled in One Pack (Dončić / Tatum backs)”

Hello everyone,

About a year and a half ago, I opened a sealed Mega Box of 2023-2024 Panini Phoenix basketball cards, and from this box, I pulled several cards that appear to have a consistent printing error. The fronts of the cards are correct, but the backs belong to different players.

What makes this interesting is that the mismatches follow a very clear repeating pattern, which suggests the front sheet and back sheet were shifted by exactly one card position during printing before the cards were cut.

Here are the pairings I pulled: (see pictures)

- Patrick Ewing (front) / Onyeka Okongwu (back)

- John Collins (front) / Jayson Tatum (back)

- Precious Achiuwa (front) / Luka Dončić (back)

- Jonas Valančiūnas (front) / Keegan Murray (back)

- Jaren Jackson Jr. (front) / Patrick Beverley (back)

- Gary Harris (front) / Ayo Dosunmu (back)

- Kelly Olynyk (front) / Obi Toppin (back)

Each card’s back appears to belong to the next player in the checklist sequence, which is why I believe the front sheet and back sheet were offset by one position during production.

In simple terms, the sheet likely looked something like this before printing:

Fratont sheet row:

Ewing – Collins – Achiuwa – Valančiūnas – Jaren

Jackson Jr – Harris – Olynyk – Jokic

Back sheet row:

Okongwu – Tatum – Dončić – Murray – Beverley –

Dosunmu – Jokic – Toppin

When the sheets were combined, each front ended up attached to the next player’s back, creating a repeating “one-slot shift” across the strip.

All of these were pulled from the same box, which suggests they may have come from the same defective sheet strip rather than being random damaged cards.

Has anyone else seen Phoenix cards like this or pulled similar wrong-back errors?

European League of Football

Couple of years ago I got my hands on one of the regular boxes and never opened it - does anybody collect those cards even, especially since the league basically does not exist anymore?
