I made a post about it earlier. My fiancé picked it up knowing I'd be interested and happy lol. It had a spicy pillow battery attached to it. Looks to be intentionally thrown out with a bunch of other junk that's not working. I removed the battery and ordered a charger and it works! Now I'm browsing for a battery from AliExpress, everyone seems to agree OSTENT is the best brand. I'm so fricking happy. 

As of now, it has a 2GB Stick Pro Duo. It'll be enough till I get the adapter. The UMD drive makes noises but it works so well. I remember my childhood 1000 being extremely slow. Especially playing midnight club 3, loading would take about 5 -10 minutes sometimes. I've never owned a 2000 but it seems the UMD drive is such an upgrade in terms of speed.

As a child I’ve always wanted to have a PSP, as an adult I’ve started collecting and repairing PSPs and generally selling them dirt cheap to make sure people can enjoy them as I wish I could as a child. So far it’s been 4 1001s and a single 3001. I’ve kept a single 1001 and the 3001 for my own collection but the others have been updated with Ostent batteries and all leave with a new charger and OEM Sony memory cards on top of UMD drives I’ve purchased on eBay if they don’t work. Hardest one to fix needed a CMOS battery but it’s been fantastic learning how these work.

I bought my Go dirt cheap for around 40 dollars, it was missing almost all of its trims, and had porn on it.

I got this white shell and was expecting the fitment to be a nightmare since I didn’t have original trims to use. Surprisingly everything fit perfectly. I used almost all shell parts outside of the buttons. The only weird parts were the buttons on the top trim that feel great but look wonky (looks like some king of printing error)

All I need is a new screen, but I might try to use Polywatch to fix it. Not too bothered since this is a beater psp anyway (I’m planning to practice soldering on it for battery, sd card and usb c mods)

The buttons that came with the shell were unusable, the dpad would not even register. If I can source the white start and select stickers I might just go all in on the white but AliExpress doesn’t seem to have any.

Also I’ve noticed psp go shells in general are kinda disappearing slowly so you might wanna get one now.

Still cant believe how small it is in comparison with the Switch Lite

Managed to snag this mint condition Go, cradle, and some accessories for $200 on eBay. Gonna have a lot of fun.

Got a psp again after not having one for years! What are your top game recommendations?

My first PSP was the silver 2000 Dax bundle but when that drive broke, I bought the Star Wars 2000 bundle. It was one of the coolest systems ever you could listen to music, watch movies, and play games. It was my daughter’s first multimedia device as well long before the term tablet kids was phrased. Years later, I bought the Daxter a bundle again. I eventually sold it off when a spicy pillow cracked my screen lens. After getting a wild hair and playing with my daughter’s Hannah Montana system, I decided to start my collection over.

I still had some of my games but I bought a few more games and a ton of movies. I was somewhat shocked that the prices things are at now because I remember a decade ago you could still get a lot of blister packs for cheap prices. But, I bought my own Hannah Montana and replaced the lens, I bought the monster Hunter the 3rd system and replaced the lens. Last but not least I got the Gran Turismo edition in very good condition, but I did have to oil the gears and rails because it sounded like two hamsters fighting. Overall, I’m pretty happy and enjoying the PSP more than I thought I would. I played Daxter and Crisis Core for a few hours last night. What games are you guys playing?

I bought the PSP and the original battery casing was busted, so I thought it had swollen and opened it up to grab the PCB.

But when I opened it, the battery was actually fine, the problem was the supercapacitor that kept draining it.

So I patched it up and kept using it… until I finally got my act together and bought a new one lol
