My PS recently overheated a couple of times in a row. After the first time it happened I cleaned out the fan (it was very dusty) and everything else I could reach.

Now it’s overheated again and this time it won’t turn on anymore at all. When plugged in with the power cord it makes the sound that I sent with the video.

Any idea what the problem is here? How can I fix it? I don’t have warranty anymore so how much would repairs be?

Is the appearance of the HDMI connector normal? The bottom isn't straight. The picture works perfectly.

Pessoal meu ps5 está fazendo esse zumbido apenas em jogos na versão de ps5, quando volto para o menu do console o zumbido para imediatamente, mas quando retorno para o jogo, volta também imediatamente a fazer o ruído. Já em jogos de ps4 ele não faz zumbido nenhum, daí fico sem saber oq fazer pq pergunto pra algumas pessoas e dizem que o deles é 100% silencioso, aí acaba que eu fico sem saber se o meu está com defeito ou se posso ficar em paz e usar ele assim mesmo, não está tendo problema nenhum no funcionamento dele, é apenas o ruído mesmo, ele chegou tem cerca de 2 semanas, ou seja ainda está novo, porém não sei oq fazer

My PS5 keeps overheating regularly to the point where it's interrupting my gaming because it'll randomly just shutdown, and the only way for me to get it to turn back on is to unplug the AC power cord and plug it back in. It's happening so much to the point where I've actually gone and bought an external fan to plug into the back of the console. (I've added a picture of the one I bought) I've asked Google the best ways to keep it cool and it says to have the playstation horizontally, which I do, to have it at least 10cm away from any wall which I also do, and to take it apart and clean it every 2-3 months which I do aswell so I don't know why it keeps overheating so often. Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong, or have any tips or advice on how I can keep it cooler?

Basically when you disassemble the PS5, there is a small heat sink that is glued with thermal putty.

When I was disassembling it, it was firmly glued to the metal covering, and after I assembled it back I just pressed it on the metal covering with existing thermal putty.

Disassembling it second time, It came off way too easy, and so I am curious if I need to replace it and put new thermal putty.

I was playing on the ps5 when it just turned off by itself and static flickered on the screen for 5 seconds before turning black. Everyone in my house said that some things turned off for them so I’m suspecting a power surge occurred, but when I turned everything off and on again it fixed everyone else’s problem but not mine 😒. My ps5 is plugged into an extension cable and my pc which is also plugged into it works fine but the ps5 is still doing as shown in the video. I searched up and it could be the power cable, so I swapped the power cable with my old ps4 and that didn’t solve the problem.

Is my ps5 knackered? Please help! I don’t want to have to buy a new ps5 literally 2 weeks after they rose prices up £100 🤯.

So, i’ve had my PS5 for a couple of months now and i barely use it, my partner is usually the one using it, but 2 nights ago I was gaming and had just finished a round of DBD, left my controller to charge after entering rest mode. I came back to the game after letting my controller charge for a bit, it got to the halfway point in charging, then i pressed my PS home button, and it completely shut off on me. It won’t light up, even for a moment, so I decided to leave it alone for the night being.

I came back the following morning after leaving the controller to charge, and it appears it wasn’t even charging. The lights will not even turn on for a split second or anything then die like it usually would. I tried like 3/4 different charging / data cords for 30 minutes at a time each, and still nothing. Is it hopeless? Should i just buy a new one or can i savage this remote before spending almost $80 on a new controller?

I have no clue about things like this so was wondering if anyone know?

Hey everyone, need some advice on my PS5 situation.

I bought my PS5 on 28th March, started facing issues almost immediately — random crashes and the console shutting off after 2–3 hour sessions — so I submitted it to the Sony service center on 1st April. Since then, it’s been with them, so it’s been around 17+ days now.

After about 7 days of testing, Sony confirmed there is an issue with the disc drive, and they approved a replacement unit. However, the replacement stock hasn’t arrived yet, and Sony has told me their timeline is minimum till 25th April. What’s frustrating is that new PS5 units are available in the market within 2–3 days, but I’m still waiting.

Right now, my job sheet is still open, and the service center is offering that I can take my old PS5 back temporarily and use it. Once the new stock arrives, they’ll do a hand-to-hand exchange, and they’ve clearly said the job sheet will not be closed.

I’m confused whether I should take the old unit for now or just wait, because I’m worried it might affect my replacement later or cause delays/issues.

What would you do in this situation?
