Been noticing something a lot lately across Akurdi, Chinchwad, Pimple Saudagar, Wakad, Baner etc.

There are quite a few elderly people on the streets who say they’re Varkaris and instead of asking for money, they specifically ask for food. Which honestly feels more genuine at first.

But I had an odd experience recently near Elpro Mall around 7:30 pm. I was with my dad getting juice, and an elderly woman in a navari saree with religious items approached us asking for juice. My dad wanted to help, so we agreed.

Right after that, she went to another person standing nearby and asked for the same thing again, and that person also ordered juice for her. So she basically got multiple drinks from different people at the same spot.

When we pointed it out, she said she has a big appetite and would have it with bhakri later. It felt a bit off tbh.

I usually don’t give, but this time I did because of my dad, and now I’m just confused.

Has anyone else noticed this pattern? Is this an organized thing or just coincidence?

(I don’t think they’re genuine Varkaris)

Hey guys, I’m moving to Pune soon for a new job and plan on bringing my TN-registered bike with me.

I’ve heard mixed things about the RTO and traffic police here. A few questions:

1. What’s the actual process for paying road tax/re-registration? Do I need an NOC from TN immediately?

2. How strict are the Pune cops with non-MH plates? Is it a "fine on sight" situation or do they give you a grace period?

3. If I carry my transport/movers receipt as proof of entry, will that help?

Would appreciate tips from anyone who has done this recently! Thanks in advance.

PCMC has a geographical advantage over Pune. Vast open lands and a proactive Municipality are its core strengths.

PCMC lies at the sweet spot of Pune-Mumbai economic corridor that will come up in the next 30 years.

Navi Mumbai airport is more or less a PCMC international airport. We have not yet realised NMIA’s impact. The time from NMIA to Wakad/Nigdi is not going to be more than 2 hours. Soon the missing link project will be commissioned, which will reduce the current travel time by 30 mins.

Government has already announced 10 lane expansion work of Mumbai Pune expressway and the work will begin post monsoon this year.

Effectively, PCMC is going to be a spillover of Mumbai. Just like Thane was, but on a mega scale.

PCMC lies on the natural Mumbai Pune bullet train corridor. Further attracting industries and causing creation of new business and industrial districts around Talegaon-Chakan-Khed belt. The dedicated east west freight corridor will end at JNPT will hasten development of these industrial districts to the north of PCMC.

The proposed Chakan to Hinjewadi metro expansion will more or less cover 75% of PCMC area perfecting internal mobility.

So on west, Hinjewadi will grow up to phase 7 and on the north, PCMC will grow up to Vadgaon-Maval to create a well planned megapolis that has Technology parks, Industrial parks, well designed highways and well planned townships.

Being optimistic doesn’t cost anything.

There are ifs and buts. Yet, we must appreciate that the Indian democracy is like an elephant, it moves slowly but when it moves, it’s for everyone to see.

The future is PCMC.

Has anyone recently gone through the name change process for a Pradhikaran plot that was originally allotted on a 99-year lease.

This is an inheritance case after both parents passed away—no disputes, just need to add my and my brother’s names.

Not sure if a succession certificate is required or just a legal heir certificate from the Tehsildar is enough.
