DA/SA vs SAO, worthwhile to run a safety?

Good day 226 family, I'm having a hard to trying to find a reason to use a safety. I love the DA/SA system and can run it well enough to get high A class in USPSA LO (83%) and CO (84%) A class along with IDPA CO master via match bump.

I recently got an X-five Legion and the trigger, I'm sorry to say, is garbage. When I dialed in the overtravel, the firing pin safety wouldn't get defeated. To get the safety defeated, the overtravel and trigger feel was on par with a VP9, not as good as a Canik or Walther, but not as bad as a Glock. It also has a rolling break, which is trash, in my opinion. I tried an armory craft trigger shoe and nothing changed.

As for the DA/SA, the single action reset of my stock 226x and GG trigger 226 Legion have a single action reset that is 1/4 the distance of my x-five legion with 100% reliability. They both have a firm wall and a crispy break, which are attributes my x-five legion lacks.

So are there any reasons to try to pursue a decent SAO 226 platform, or just stick with DA/SA?

New p226 models: Nightmare & Extreme

I saw these back in January on a website listed as out of stock with no photos and finally today saw pictures of them. I haven’t see anything about them anywhere from Sig. Does anyone here know anything specific about these two new P226s other than aesthetics? I’m a sucker for the 226 so I’ll probably grab at least one of them. The nightmare seems to be catching my eye, but the extreme looks great too.

Got this surplus .40 S&w p226. But I have 2 questions!

1 can I find a stainless steel 9mm slide anywhere that’s OEM not a aftermarket one

  1. Does anyone make a threaded barrel for .40? Or would it be more cost effective to just get a 9mm threaded barrel and I can experience this platform suppressed.

Found a deal I couldn’t resist. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without one.

Amazing firearm. After just 150 rounds at the range I can see why the military used this one for so long

1992 called. They want their gun back

saw this at my local shop and nabbed it. it's my 4th P226 and the oldest. i checked the markings and it appears to be made in 1992.

it shoots great but the double action is significantly less forgiving than my other examples

Mk25 grip on Elite

probably a dumb question but I have never seen a mk25 grip on a P226 elite, is that even possible or is the more ergonomic shape of the elite not suitable for the polymer mk25 grip? I've only seen the tacops one with the magwell.
