Well done Sig!
Wow.
8lb spring with 124 Blazer went super smooth with incredible action from the pistol. It’s crazy how free the slide sits on these, upgrading from a P320 XFive Legion.
They made this just for me, so far so good!

Held off on getting a p211 gto for a while because I wanted something to compete in uspsa limited with but after shooting one as a range rental and doing more research and learning about the sight block I finally pulled the trigger no regrets so far beside why I didn’t do it sooner
the purpose of this thread is to get all of the best upgrades in 1 location.
This falls into 2 categories: 1) custom work like coatings, ports / slide cuts, trigger jobs and 2) aftermarket parts like magwells, guide rods, etc etc.
goals: increased reliability, softer / faster shooting, smoother slide and making it beautiful. with an end product that could compete with guns going for twice to 3x the price. Also to describe certain types of works for people wanting to do it themselves like trigger jobs.
my personal take on the gun is that it is great as is, when I dive into things I would like to refine:
-Trigger: it has that up and down play and a slight take up that equates to a 3 stage trigger
Sig Armorer - is highly recommend as someone who can do the job
-Slide: it can be even smoother, guide rod/spring and marvel disconnector cut
I am going to list some of the things I have seen that seem to be improvements.
- aftermarket parts -
•guide rod/recoil springs - Fdez Werx
•Magwell - Fdez Werx
•grips - Lok
•magazine base pads - Herrington Arms?
•Sight block - Fdez, others?
•optics plates ?
- custom work -
• trigger job to take out the up and down movement and the 3rd stage take up, some people have mentioned a set screw in the open area for one inside SIG ARMORER
• slide work - marvel disconnector cut to make it even smoother - MERCIER gun smith
• porting / slide windows/cuts - Trenton @ TDS gun works Wyoming is one I have seen with V8 ports cut into the slide serrations looks like an XC/Staccato cuts and user on youtube claims 20-25% reduction in recoil
• coating work - I would like to DLC my hammer, trigger shoe and magwell that are silver, vulcan??
Local guy had a couple brand new GTO's posted so for shits and giggles I offered $2100 for it. When he said yeah I couldn't back out...... I didn't think it would hold its own with some of my other pistols. I was wrong!
I genuinely didn't want to like it as much as I do. Figured I would keep it around for when a friend who doesn't shoot much wanted to go shooting.
Shooting freedom munitions 124/135 flat nose and hollow point/ and 147. Have only used the 8lbs spring.... direct mounted defender XL.
Had a couple failures to return to battery (could have been riding the slide) within the first 50-60 rounds and it had nasty thick black oil/grease in it. So I just broke it all the way down and gave it a good cleaning and re-lube like I usually would with a new gun. While I was in there I adjusted the sear spring a little and tightened some of the trigger slack up. Trigger might be around 2.5lbs now? And damn this thing shoots!!! Not the most crisp trigger but it shoots so fast you almost don't notice it. Went through about 600 more rounds of mixed ammo from above trying to figure out what it likes the most. The thing just shoots. I need to dry fire more so I can find my dot a little faster since the ergonomics are slightly different than what I'm used to. But I genuinely like the gun.
I see all these people asking about what to do to their new GTO.... Just clean the nasty grease they ship with and give it a good lubing then let it rip.
You don't need a light, If anything it will throw off the natural return to zero this thing has. Grips do their job. The 80 series isn't going to make you suck. Newer ones already have the metal spring keeper. Its already heavy. Why add a heavier guide rod? The only money I can justify putting into this thing is if I need to lighten it up to make weight for a competition. And maybe spending money to make the trigger really crisp (but definitely not needed)....
Anyone on the fence about buying should definitely buy!
Sorry for the obstructed video. New hat has a slightly more bent brim and I didn't realize it was blocking the view.
Tried taking my comp off to clean it but removing the wedge pin was a pain, so had my gunsmith take it out. Wasn’t until he got it out when I learned it was a completely different part. Anyone recognize it? It’s round on all sides.
How does one go about dialing out some of the take up on the trigger. I did the series 70 conversion and it lightened the trigger up and made the break super crisp but there is still more take up than I would prefer. And tips would be greatly appreciated.
Super Vel 147gr Hush Puppy "Certified Select" and bitch wrists.
Hi all,
Is anyone else having issues with light primer strikes that are off center? I can’t get through more than 3 or 4 rounds without a failure to fire.
All stock.
I just picked up my GT5. Looks great and I'm excited to break it in! Still trying to decide between the SRO and Sig-Loc romeoX for my dot.
Any other left-handed people in here? Have you made any mods to your P211?
Finally getting around to playing with my GT 5. Are the slide springs interchangeable with the GTO? They are green and yellow. Green being 8# yellow being 10#. The GT5 has a red... I'm guessing that is 13#? I wanted to lower my slide spring just a bit. It is a little bit heavier than I like.
