PCSL: Fun, safe, apolitical
Hey y’all. I’m part of a group of people who runs the weekly Winona PCSL matches. PCSL is a practical shooting competition where people grow their skills and safe handling of pistols and pistol-caliber rifles.
I’m sure a lot of you are reading this and imagining it is a political dumpster fire, super intense, or you e got to be awesome to enjoy the event. I wouldn’t call it any of those.
I’m not who you might typically associate with firearm ownership personally. I’d fall under the pro-2A left-leaning kind of person and for what it’s worth, I’m generally very comfortable at these events. Here’s my take:
- It’s super fun
- You don’t have to be good, you just have to be safe
- Yes we keep score, but we don’t pressure people on that.
- It’s safe. Send me a DM or post comments and I’m happy to try to explain more.
- Political discussions are forbidden.
- It’s not tactical, it’s a game.
- It’s open to the public.
Our matches are Tuesdays at 6pm at the Winona Sportsman’s Club, a local 501(c)3 group. I’ll answer any questions that pop up in the comments when I can.
