PCSL: Fun, safe, apolitical

Hey y’all. I’m part of a group of people who runs the weekly Winona PCSL matches. PCSL is a practical shooting competition where people grow their skills and safe handling of pistols and pistol-caliber rifles.

I’m sure a lot of you are reading this and imagining it is a political dumpster fire, super intense, or you e got to be awesome to enjoy the event. I wouldn’t call it any of those.

I’m not who you might typically associate with firearm ownership personally. I’d fall under the pro-2A left-leaning kind of person and for what it’s worth, I’m generally very comfortable at these events. Here’s my take:

  1. It’s super fun
  2. You don’t have to be good, you just have to be safe
  3. Yes we keep score, but we don’t pressure people on that.
  4. It’s safe. Send me a DM or post comments and I’m happy to try to explain more.
  5. Political discussions are forbidden.
  6. It’s not tactical, it’s a game.
  7. It’s open to the public.

Our matches are Tuesdays at 6pm at the Winona Sportsman’s Club, a local 501(c)3 group. I’ll answer any questions that pop up in the comments when I can.
