Sophie Bouteiller, also known under her pseudonym Heneriette Browne (1829 -1901) was a French painter. She was born in a wealthy family to father, amateur musician, and mother, singer and music teacher. Renowned internationally during her lifetime for her unconventional approach to Orientalism, Henriette specialized in genre scenes that represented the Near East in a less sensationalized, albeit still exotic, manner than her contemporaries. She is considered as one of the pioneers in orientalist painting.

The painting is at Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum in Bournemouth, England.
