Should I put a new screen in ?

Hey, just got this for a damaged blue and black 2ds. Wondering if I should put a new screen in since this one is broken ? (I'll probably use a black and blue 2ds screen, and I just love this color)

2ds stuck on backlight screen

So I had this happen a couple days ago after dropping it accidentally and what I did was remove the Wi-Fi chip and put it back in, and it started turning on again just without Wi-Fi which I didn’t think was a big deal. This morning, I tried turning it back on again, and it was stuck on the backlight screen. I did the same thing again and took the Wi-Fi chip out and back in. I removed the SD card multiple times, I formatted the SD card fat 32 with 64 kB cluster sizes and moved all my files back on, and right now it’s still stuck on the backlight screen. My SD card is 64 gb and I know it’s recommended to have 32 or less but it was working just fine for like a week. So is there anything else I can do? Should I order a new Wi-Fi chip?

Just got all of this for free !

So, my local game store was normally gonna give me broken consoles pieces, but since I waited for over a month he gave me the 2 DSes in pieces. The white one doesn't work (except for the screen) and the blue one had one piece missing + the R button torn off. Am I lucky orrr...

Nintendo 2DS

Hallo. Mein Nintendo 2DS (siehe Foto) lässt sch nicht einschalten. Eine gelbe Leuchte leuchtet kurz auf und geht dann wieder aus, das ist alles.

Accidentally spilled a bit of salty Walter on that thing...

So I had a glass of salty water on my desk, and accidentally spilled some of it on my 2ds... Left it out charging (since I'm using it to charge my new battery) and I came back to this...it wasn't charging, so I took it apart and found this. What do I do in that situation?? EDIT : Don't have IPA sadly...

Am I screwed?

Tried to open up this 2ds and clean the inside because of how dirty and grimy it was and I broke the connector off this ribbon cable. It won’t turn on because it needs that connection to the main board so unless this can be fixed, I basically bricked my console. And tips or ideas on what to do? Thanks for any advice

Friend’s New 2DS XL doesn’t have it’s screens or sound activate

He gave it to me yesterday to fix it for him. Apparently a couple years ago, a younger sister of his absolutely bolted or thrown it onto the ground, causing the frame to form 2 major cracks near the hinge (image 2). My friend claims that the 2DS had its screen freeze more often than each of the previous times he would boot it up over the years, until the screens never activated. Upon taking the console apart myself, I didn’t see any initial problems, as all of the cables weren’t damaged and the battery wasn’t ballooned. I’ve heard multiple apparent fixes for this issue like “Hold the power button for 30 seconds” or “booting into safe mode.” I’ve tried both multiple times to no prevail, so I assume it’s an internal issue.

Next time I take it apart, what should I look for? Should I try re-attaching the ribbon cables? Should I try cleaning anything? Should I tell my friend to take it somewhere professional to get fixed? What should I do? Also: this console is not modded.

I bought this New 2DS in “working” condition - the bottom screen was cracked but digitized and top screen and buttons were all functional. The seller told me the back screws were missing so I could tell someone had been in there to try to repair.

When I opened it up to put in a new bottom screen there were two broken ribbon cable clamps, shown above. The second picture shows the rest of the cables and how they are seated.

After doing the repair and reconnecting all cables, I booted it up and both screens turned on, however the audio cables were detached so I had to plug those in before putting the body back together. After doing this, however, the console stopped turning on entirely.

I checked and rechecked all cables many times, but I can’t get it to boot, stuck with the blue light turning on for four seconds and then turning off. After some searching I found someone’s advice to insert a piece of extra ribbon cable or something similarly sized into the clamp along with the cable to press the cable into a contacting position. I tried this with some extra cable from the old screen and it seemed to press the cable down well, but the console is still not booting.

Can anyone offer any advice on what I should do here? I’ve been wracking my brain for hours on how I could have possibly went from a console that turned on to one that just will not. All ribbon cables look well seated from here but maybe I’m missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Nitendo game recommendation?

Hi! This summer vacation I just want to use my nintendo again and play chill games. A friend recommended to play Zelda because I have not yet played a single Zelda game :>> I really liked pokemon emerald as well. Can you recommend adventure games like those? I can probably play one or two games at most since I tend to hyperfixate on a single game.

Hi! I recently picked up a 2ds (the one that doesn’t fold) and I’ve never had one before, only a 3ds. The dpad seems really wobbly in comparison, is this normal?
