Shey Phoksundo Lake

A breathtaking high-altitude lake in Dolpa, famous for its deep turquoise water and untouched, remote landscapes.

Last October, I guided a group of 6 trekkers from Bangladesh to this region. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, handling permits, logistics, and safety throughout the trek.

If anyone is planning to visit Shey Phoksundo, needs a licensed trekking guide, or wants any information about the region, feel free to DM me.

ABC guided trek

Hi, I’m looking at doing ABC in November however don’t yet have dates. I was hoping to book the tour when I arrive in Nepal as this seems to be cheaper than what western companies offer online. Would it be better to book this in Pokhara or Kathmandu?

Thanks everyone!

Looking for travel buddy for Annapurna Base Camp trek, Nepal

Hey, I’m Shreyansh, 19M from India. I’m planning a budget trip to Nepal for the Annapurna Base Camp trek and looking for a travel buddy or small group.

I’ll probably start from Pokhara and keep it simple with tea houses, local food, and buses/jeeps. Dates are flexible.

Here’s my site so I’m not totally anonymous: shreyanshs.xyz

Happy to talk/video call first.

DM or comment if you’re planning ABC too.

Planning Our First Trek (Ama Yangri) – Travel & Stay Advice?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are planning to do the Ama Yangri trek as our first trek together, and we’re both pretty new to traveling and trekking in general. I’m a bit more flexible, but my partner would prefer something comfortable and not too intense.

We’re thinking of going in early May—would that be a good time?

We’d really appreciate any advice on:

  • How to get there from Kathmandu
  • Whether we should go independently or with a guide
  • Accommodation options (something a bit comfortable if possible)
  • What to expect in terms of difficulty

Any beginner-friendly tips would mean a lot. Thanks in advance!

Guide for Mardi Himal trek

Is guide mandatory for Mardi Himal trek or it can be done solo without an accompanied licensed guide or porter.

Moreover, NTB at KTM didn't provide a TIMS card, said it isn't required. Can we do Annapurna region just with the ACAP permit and without the TIMS card. And what about TIMS for Mardi Himal trek?

Thanks in advance.

Trekkin' Mates - Annapurna Region

Trekking through

Australian Camp - Kliew/Kimche - Ghandruk - Tadapani - Ghorepani/Poon Hill - Tadapani - Ghandruk/Low Camp - High Camp - Mardi Himal Base Camp (lower) - Low Camp - Dudh Kharka - Dhampus

From Pokhara/Kande

I am trekking solo, starting 29th April 2026, my pace slow/moderate, enjoying nature and the relaxed vibes, would be covering 3-5 hours (at most) per day.

If anyone is going the way, and would love to connect. Leave a comment/DM.

P.s. Not looking for guides. My nature reserved/quiet mostly.

Any recent report much appreciated.

Ama Yangri or Sailung for early May? Need honest opinions

Hey guys,

Planning a quick 1N/2D trip from Kathmandu in early May and I’m stuck between Ama Yangri and Sailung.

Ama Yangri looks super tempting because of the sunrise views and the whole Langtang/Ganesh Himal panorama. But I’ve also heard Sailung has really nice green hills and a more chill vibe.

I don’t mind a bit of a climb, but I also don’t want something too hectic since it’s just a short trip. Mainly going for good views, some peace, and a break from the city.

Need help - planning nepal trip in may

Planning a Nepal trip in the first week of May for about 5 to 10 days. I’ll spend 1 to 2 days in Kathmandu and most of the time around Pokhara and Ghandruk.

I’m not very interested in city sightseeing. I’ll visit a few temples, but briefly. My main focus is nature, greenery, and especially clear mountain views, along with good sunrises and sunsets.

I’ll be traveling with my parents (around 50), so no hardcore trekking. Short treks of 3 to 4 hours on some days are fine if the views are worth it.

My main concern is visibility. I’ve heard that May can have heavy smog and fog, leading to almost no mountain views. I’ve even seen videos showing Ghandruk completely covered in haze.

Is this true? What should I plan or change to avoid this? Any suggestions would really help.
