Need help, want to travel in first week of may
Planning a Nepal trip in the first week of May for about 5 to 10 days. I’ll spend 1 to 2 days in Kathmandu and most of the time around Pokhara and Ghandruk.
I’m not very interested in city sightseeing. I’ll visit a few temples, but briefly. My main focus is nature, greenery, and especially clear mountain views, along with good sunrises and sunsets.
I’ll be traveling with my parents (around 50), so no hardcore trekking. Short treks of 3 to 4 hours on some days are fine if the views are worth it.
My main concern is visibility. I’ve heard that May can have heavy smog and fog, leading to almost no mountain views. I’ve even seen videos showing Ghandruk completely covered in haze.
Is this true? What should I plan or change to avoid this? Any suggestions would really help.
