[Rydunleavy] Sonny Styles out of consideration for #Giants at 5? Thats the late buzz shared by @McShay13 and @richeisen My texts calls believe it’s between Caleb Downs/Jordyn Tyson/Jeremiyah Love with the hope to get 2 of the 3
x.com[Green] Todd McShay: "I thought it was Sonny Styles at #5 for the Giants, apparently it may not be". Rich Eisen: "That's all I'm hearing, is that the Giants don't want Sonny Styles. That word is on the street"
Full four minute clip in the link.
[Schefter] Sources say [Francis Mauigoa] has a herniated disc in his back... Teams say that if it worsens at all, Mauigoa would then need surgery that could sideline him roughly three months. Some teams think he'll eventually need the surgery at some point either way.

Thoughts on Dex’s comments?
Someone talk me into Sonny Styles
I just cannot get myself on board for him at #5.
I get it, freak athlete, high ceiling. Sure. Fine. But where the hell do we slot him into our defense?
We already have more edge rushers than we know what to do with so now we’re also going to stack up in the middle? We just invested in Edmunds, we have McFadden coming back who was damn solid before the injury - why devote a top 5 pick to a position where we aren’t desperately in need?
To me our two first round picks need to be some combination of Downs, Mauigoa, Ioane, Delane, McCoy, Tate, or Tyson. All these guys are stud prospects at positions we desperately need.
With all that being said, talk me into Sonny Styles so I can be happy no matter what.
[DrJesseMorse] Jordyn Tyson will be a high-risk for injuries, especially to his left knee/leg, due to this reason ⬇️ 🚩
Manning lobs it... Burress alone... Touchdown New York!
Managed to find a couple "game issue" SuperBowl 42 jerseys in my area. Picked up Burress today off Facebook Marketplace. I think 7 year old me (how old I was for SB 42) would've found these pretty cool so I'm happy to have them now.
Jordyn Tyson Injury History
With the rumors swirling regarding the Giants interest in Jordyn Tyson (presumably with the 10th pick), I wanted to address the somewhat agreed upon idea that his injury history is too large of a red flag to ignore and that we should be passing on this talent and looking elsewhere. I believe this would be a mistake.
Jordyn Tyson’s injury history reads bigger than it actually is. When you break down each event, the pattern isn’t chronic or predictive, it’s a series of isolated, unrelated setbacks that he consistently returned from at a high level.
Here are the injuries broken down:
1. Multi‑Ligament Knee Tear (2022 — Colorado)
This was a one‑time, but absolutely high‑impact injury. It was a horrible incident for the kid, but it wasn’t due to anything degenerative, it wasn’t a repeat issue, and it didn’t linger. Tyson returned from it with 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first full season back. That’s the strongest indicator of long‑term knee stability you can ask for.
2. Broken Collarbone (2024 — Arizona State)
A classic and unlucky football injury but not something that predicts future availability. It was a clean break, healed cleanly, and didn’t affect his explosiveness or contact balance the following year. This injury forced him to miss two games.
3. Hamstring Strains (2025 — Arizona State)
This is the one where I can agree with some hesitation on the medical evaluation, because you simply cannot 100% rule out these issues weren’t related to the knee injury, however, the hamstring strains came up about 3 years later, so that being the cause is unlikely. This was also Tyson’s first soft‑tissue issue in college, and it came late in the season after a heavy workload. He even played through it in a critical game and produced. Hamstrings are manageable, treatable, and not indicative of long‑term breakdown.
A knee ligament tear, a clavicle break, and a hamstring strain don’t form a pattern. They’re isolated events with no shared mechanism.
On top of that, he’s shown full recovery every time.
The best predictor of future durability is how a player returns from injury.
As stated earlier:
Tyson returned with 1,101 yards and 10 TDs after the knee, and then 711 yards and 8 TDs in nine games after the collarbone
We did not get the opportunity to see on field production after the hamstrings, but he displayed easy and explosive movement at his private workout after the hamstring. Players with chronic issues don’t typically bounce back like that.
On top of all of this, His game is built on traits that age well. Tyson wins with great athleticism but more importantly nuance and elite instincts. He is top 1 or 2 in this class with:
- Route pacing
- Leverage manipulation
- Ball tracking (Tate also elite at this)
- Spatial awareness
- Body control
The whole reason I’m writing this is to offer a different narrative to what I see a lot of in the player discussions. Tyson is the top WR in this class if you remove the injury concerns, and one of the better WR prospects in the past few years. He should be a top 10 pick in most classes, and we should be lucky to have him fall to us at 10.
An offense consisting of Malik Nabers and Jordyn Tyson would give us a Chase/ Higgins level duo and would allow our main boy Jaxson Dart to elevate his play and become the elite QB we need him to be for any of this to matter.
ProFootballDoc - “Jordyn Tyson Is Fine Medically”
There’s been a lot of discussion about Jordyn Tyson’s health recently. Well a medical professional and former NFL team doctor seems to give Jordyn Tyson a full bill of health. Thoughts?

x.com[Rapaport] The #Giants, who had gotten trade calls centered around edge Kayvon Thibodeaux for the last few months, are now considered less likely to trade him following the blockbuster deal sending Dexter Lawrence to the #Bengals, sources say. No one is ruling anything out. But unlikely.
x.comDoes drafting Caleb Downs or Jeremiyah Love basically admit that letting Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney walk for nothing was a mistake?
Two offseasons ago, the Giants made the controversial decision to let Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney walk in free agency for nothing. At the time, the justification from many fans (and likely the front office) centered around positional value and contract cost—RB and safety aren’t considered premium positions, and both players were due big paydays.
Since then, both players have absolutely thrived.
Saquon went on to have one of the best RB seasons ever—rushing for over 2,000 yards, winning Offensive Player of the Year, and winning a Super Bowl with the hated Philadelphia Eagles.
McKinney became a two-time All-Pro with the Green Bay Packers, including an 8-interception season in 2024.
A lot of Giants fans have defended the decision by saying the contracts weren’t worth it, that running back and safety aren’t premium positions, and that the team wouldn’t have been significantly better with them anyway.
But now I’m seeing a lot of those same fans pushing for the Giants to draft Caleb Downs or Jeremiyah Love.
And that’s where I’m confused.
It feels like there’s a contradiction here.
If the logic was “don’t pay elite players at non-premium positions,” then why turn around and invest high draft capital into those exact same positions?
Realistically, Downs would have to become an All-Pro-level safety just to match what McKinney already is, and Love would basically need to become a Hall of Fame-caliber running back to match peak Saquon. Even then, we’re talking about replacing players we already had and let walk for nothing.
So I have a few questions for other fans:
If we draft Downs or Love and they become stars, what happens when it’s time to pay them? Do we just let them walk too?
Does drafting those positions signal that letting Saquon and McKinney go was a mistake?
Or is the idea that cheap rookie contracts at those positions are fine—but second contracts aren’t?
Because if that’s the case, then it feels less like roster building and more like a revolving door where we never actually retain elite talent at certain positions.

Draft for QB Development
Ok hear me out… what if we took Love at 5 and Tyson at 10 or swap one out for Mauioga. I know our defense just got way worse but the key to anything in the Giants future is Jaxson Dart development.
Playing in high scoring games with a bad defense and good offense would be a blast to watch and will hopefully build confidence in a strong offense for years to come. With cap space galore in the coming years if we solidify the offense now we can go defense heavy in coming years via FA and the draft.
