What is the best branch among these to get a placement in consulting/finance . Or should i see other nit options .

I just want to know whether it's possible to take chemical engineering and still get into the IT sector. Moreover, do enough companies come there and take students irrespective of the students' branch? In short, will I be able to get a decent package in any tech company as a chemical engineer? (I am sure I'll study hard enough to learn cs) Please help!🙏

yea i am getting those branches in nit warangal and nit rourkela any current students pls help.

i am planning to go in semiconductor field by taking ece as minor is that happing or not. is that impossible to achive or possible

thapar cse,pes cse,nit rkl food processing/biotech/life science /lnmit mech/eee probably ,iiit bbsr ece /(cse sayad )

what would be better? my home state is odisha

At my rank I will be getting nit rourkela ee should I take it or go with other options. For other options I have nit warangal and surathkal mech , ece in nit nagpur and ai in svnit surat and less chances of nit trichy ice

Hi everyone, I got selected for the Summer Internship 2026 at NIT Rourkela (EE department ). I’ll be staying on campus from May–July. I had a few questions and i need some doubts regarding campus

1.How are hostel rooms for interns and how they are shared

2.How is the mess food and are there good canteens available all night like 24/7?

3.Can we move around campus freely in the evenings/night? Any restrictions?

4 .How is the internship workload usually? Strict or flexible?

5 .what about transport inside campus

6. how is the Rourkela as city and i dont know hindi too so how too commute there is it easy and how to reach there ? and any other info for a southern guy coming there

I am getting mech at rkl and chemical at NITK/NITW. Which is better if i want psu?

I am pretty confused between these two, I would like to tend more towards software side during the years and even would like to prepare for exams for foreign universities for mtech or Ms during the years ( need to give time to learn their basic language) , I saw the placements of 2025 and nit s looking good and even better the EE in nit r, and I saw so many reviews of hectic academic plan of nit r with strict lecture and unnecessary attitude but being one of the top nit, I am really confused either NITR EE or NITS EIE

Is there discrimination against south people in nit rourkela ?

Could you please share your honest views about the branch—its merits, demerits, scope, and career opportunities? So I am getting Nit K eee,Nit W eee,Mnnit A ece, Nit C ece, IIIT A ece, IIIT D ece, DTU ece,NSUT ece. Can anyone please give me an idea which option is the best from their experience in particular for Core Electronics Domain (like embedded,Vlsi etc) in terms of opportunities not for IT and software oriented only. Like how is NIT K and W EEE for electronics core domain or ece at a bit lower nit like allahabad or calicut would be better? I am also getting NIT rourkela electronics and instrumentation(EIE). How is that and should I consider it over above options for ece core.(I have heard it's good in rourkela for core ece aswell).

And if anyone knows more about ece core opportunities can they please help me and confirm if I am right in below given things.

Things I have heard by exploring- 1) IIITD ece is better than IIIT A ece in terms of ece core opportunities.

2. DTU,NSUT are not that good for core ece opportunities in comparison to nits and iiits

3. NIT calicut is better than MNNIT allahabad for ece core opportunities.

And God wth is that.

It is based on pure opinion so please.

It may be just one room or the ground floor effect I don't know but c-block is hella depressing.

And so congested room.

Didn't get to see the B block but is there any way to A or B.

I got to know that GDB is closest that's the only pro to its side but SD is way better in terms of facilities but far. These are not my words but GD's residents.

So I was pretty worried.

Please is there any way to get A or B?

I really hoped to stay at GD but I think so called perfect or even good hostels does not exist.
