Mhrise Sunbreak best Element GS

It's as simple as the title is saying, what are the best Element GS? I usually use hammer and CB but my brother uses GS and I just wanna know what are the best options.

I just recently catch up with Wilds content, AT Arkveld and stuff. My main weapon is mainly Long Sword & Great Sword back in World and now Wilds.

I remember back when I played Wilds LS, for the first dozens of hours, I loved it.
- You have so many flexible choices in moveset, with less punishment compared to World.
- Staying in red gauge with the new crimson moves was kinda fun too.
- Successful ISS raise Spirit Level and can be chained into another ISS or Spirit Blade 3, so getting back to red gauge after using Spirit Release Slash was so easy.
- Now you can cancel Helm Breaker from mid-air.

In short, it was much easier to perform cool and flashy stuff without being punished too much for making mistakes.

But then, quickly after that initial period, I started to feel... bored???
Back in World there were a lot more suffering and frustration when learning LS, but never even once I felt bored. I always want to jump right into another hunt again, trying to utilize the weapon better than the last hunt.

I didn't have a clear idea why back then, so now I decided to jump back to World.

All the time getting too used to having focus mode and flexibility in Wilds ended up coming back biting me in the butt. All the struggle returned, as if I was playing World for the first time again.

Suddenly, everything became crystal clear why: Less is more. Something too easy to obtain will also quickly lose its value.

- Wilds LS no longer requires Spirit Gauge management: each normal slash generates more Spirit, you can spam Thrust & Rising Slash forever between each Spirit Blade move, Spirit Charge let you skip or go through all Spirit Combo even with no Spirit Gauge.
- World LS, although far from perfect, has a good balance system where you need to use all of your moveset and both counters for different purpose.
Meanwhile, Wilds LS ISS is simply too powerful, "spam-able", without any drawbacks, to the point of no reason to use Foresight (and other moves) 99% of the time.
- New Crimson moves in Red Gauge led to a meta where you just spam Crimson Slash I + Spirit Blade I to deal even more damage than using Helm Breaker + Spirit Release.
- Focus mode overall eliminates the need for positioning (which was one of the core aspects of Monster Hunter combat to me) and controlling how & which direction your Foresight/ISS should go to be effective.

TLDR: In my opinion, all the risky, commitment-heavy, vulnerable point in World LS have their "risky, commitment, vulnerable" part completely removed by devs in Wilds.
The result: I had a big, short early burst of satisfaction when I easily overpowered monsters with style. But that joy was "all glitter, no substance". I quickly felt empty and bored after a while.

I tried to find Youtube videos discussing this matter, but to my surprise, there was only one video from Ratatoskr, and nothing else, no other simillar videos.

So, I want to create this post, to share my honest thoughts, and create a healthy, non-toxic, constructive conversation (this sounds almost impossible in 2026 LOL, but let's have some hope xD).
We can discuss deeper and further about LS in the comment, since I don't want the post to be too long and boring.

Note 1: I'm not a Wilds hater. Overall, I had a good 350hrs with the game. But personally, I much prefer World's combat (except tenderizing) and weapon moveset. I don't like Focus Mode as well.
I believe more healthy conversations about Wilds is needed.
Note 2: I'm still new to the franchise. My first MH game was World so I only have 1 game to compare, so few free to tell me all the great things about LS in the past, I want to see the viewpoint of veterans too.
I do plan to go back and play older gens, after I defeat Alatreon and Fatalis solo again for this "return to World" of mine.

Is there a way to find meta sets from previous TU or just an older version of google docs?

I've been using Demon flurry rush and ground spiral slash. So far, while I still can hunt comfortably, I feel like my play are very far from optimal, especially because of DMF. So I'm seeking advices from DB mains to improve. Here are my issues from my most recent hunts:

  1. DMF moves me from the particular weakspots I was aiming at, even with roundslash to re-direction. Most of the time it moves me from forelegs (normal hitzone) to the chest (poor hitzone). This really hurts my dps and sharpness. Should I use bladedance or sixfold instead in this situation?? The beyblade combo seems to spread my dmg all over the place with a lot of white number.

  2. In majority of my match ups, the legs have very poor hitzones. Risen kushala is an easy example. Even Zignogre, which I thought is low enough, still gives me trouble to target its head with Demon flurry rush. While I do know Flurry rush has better dps, shouldn't demon flight yield me better result if I can target better hitzones like the head??

  3. This also relate to the previous question: I miss half of my spiral slashes when aim for the weakspot. Half of the time, the spiral goes into poor hitzone instead and I just send myself accross the field. Should I switch to demon flight and use aerial spiral for better aim?? So that even if I miss, I dont have to spend the entire opening to run back to the monster?

To me, DB is a weapon that is very hard to measure. With GS, it's very simple: bigger TCS = better. But given the chaotic nature of DB and the numbers are all over the place, it's very hard to know which options have the better result. Can DB mains share some knowledges for me?? It would be appreciated.

I just got over HR 105 with well over 100 hours at this point and I still have not gone any where near big gog. Basically all my hours are on charge blade and I heard we don’t get good rep so I’m scared to further perpetuate the stereotype. All this time spent on the game and I can count how many times I played with one other hunter on one hand😭🙏🏽. Sure the rewards are nice all to myself but I wanna know how I as a CB main can contribute to a team without using all the carts. Please help a fellow hunter out🙏🏽🙏🏽

Hey so I'm struggling pretty badly with builds ever since I started playing mh games. I'm looking for some kind of meta GS build. I have lot of gogma parts and glass aswell as rarity 8 omega GS. Im hoping that someone could help me with that. I'm currently using glass gs since I'm trying to get good rolls on gogma ones but I'm still kind of clueless of lot of stuff.

Also few things I'm curious about.

Is sleep GS or paralysis GS better?

Should I get full bale armor for the special omega GS move?

Affinity over attack? Or the other way?

I usually play co-op with friends instead of solo, so just in case.

Does anybody know hard numbers on the difference between how many hits/damage it takes to clear the frenzy virus for each level for longsword? I've looked all over and can't find anything definitive.

I have an AB 2 Crit draw 1 RNG charm for a longsword AT Arkveld build but it's 1-0-0 and I'd have to give up level 3 antivirus since I need quick sheathe and dragon resistance. I'm not worried about 7% affinity difference since I'm running 3 Attack 1 Affinity 1 sharpness instead of 4 attack on my weapon but wanted to know how much longer it's going to take to clear frenzy.

I've tried testing it myself in the training room but can't distinguish whether it's number of hits, cumulative motion value, or cumulative damage. It seems like it takes longer in general with level 1 vs level 3 antivirus but it doesn't seem consistent either.

Hi, I’m about to start my wilds journey after completing iceborne recently and I have found that I love playing weapons I don’t see too often alongside me in hunts. In world, that was the lance, gunlance and hunting horn usually. But here in wilds I understand there is a massive change in playstyle and popularity when it comes to these weapons. I haven’t been able to come across a weapon popularity list like in iceborne for wilds, so is there a list out there? Or do ya’ll have any info on which weapons u rarely see in hunts? Sorry if I come across as “trying to be different” but I just like having some uniqueness in hunts.

Artian Reroll Question

Can anyone help me out here please?

I am trying to make a dragon bow with decent stats and heard I should get as much attack as possible.

My rolls are as follows:

  1. 3 Thunder ATK

  2. 3 Ice ATK

  3. 3 Blast ATK

  4. Sleep Affinity, Blast Affinity, Blast ATK

  5. Poison ATK, Poison Affinity, Poison Affinity

Upgraded that poison bow is 5 x ATK, however when I reset and replace it with a dragon bow I get a different set of bonuses.

I checked out a several guides which said rolls were separated into two tables—Raw and elemental (which includes statuses), but something is going wrong here. Note I am making only rarity 8 as I understand tables differ on rarity too.

If anyone you point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I am looking to grind up my HR in between the regular 9/10 star quests. The 9 star optionals/Proof of a Hero yield a solid amount of rank but seem like they're probably not the most time efficient.

Is just spamming tempered Gravios with water HBG the move? Are there any other quests/loadouts you guys know to farm HR?

As the title says I am a returning GS player I played the entire game on launch but got bored as it didn’t have enough content for me so I went back to Sunbreak and Iceborne only really returning every now and again to play for an hour or two.

My main question is what am I supposed to be running? Can I still make a good build or did I miss out on some limited events? If I did what are the alternatives? Are Artian weapons still the best?

I am running four piece Gore with Udra Mirehelm B, Dragon Artian with 3 attack infusion and one element infusion, and Exploiter Charm 3.

For skills the main ones are Crit boost 5, Focus 3, Weakness Exploit 5, Counter Strike 3, Maximum Might 3, Antivirus 3.

Hi all, I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere else yet, but I found that the reinforcement bonuses seem to follow unique rolls per type of roll and per slot.

An example of this is having a weapon that rolls attack/attack/affinity/affinity/attack is doing something like checking

  • value for an attack roll in slot 1
  • value for an attack roll in slot 2
  • value for an affinity roll in slot 3

and so on.

Why the distinction matters is that it lets rerolling go a little farther than just finding the types you want then rolling until it finally hits max. You can roll all your mats in the same save scummy way, noting rolls that have the types you want, then on reroll pick out each of those as "checkpoints", then reroll for values on each one.

This wastes a little more time rerolling (which led me to set up a macro in steam), but lets you explore more of the rolls possible with a limited amount of materials.

An example that I just completed was with 2540 oricalcite, I rolled the reset all the way through and found desirable type rolls at 62, 85, and 93. I reset, rolled resets to 62, then finished out the supply while only rerolling values and got nothing. I did the same for the 85 breakpoint failed again, then after resetting and reaching the 93 type roll, I got a perfect roll for the values before the end of supply

Not perfectly convenient since it requires "wasted" rerolls getting back to the checkpoints (and a desire to reroll perfection vs mod, which says something about sanity), but I found farming oricalcite to take much longer relatively speaking and if someone is already rerolling in spreadsheets for the set/group skills, this is just a little more of the same.

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to theorycrafting, so bear with me if something doesn’t make perfect sense yet 😅
I’ve mostly been playing more “standard” setups so far, but I recently got lucky and rolled 3 LBGs with Gore Tyranny + Lord’s Soul, and that made me want to try putting together a more optimized build around them.

I’m trying to run a Gore / Lord’s Soul / Scorch setup:

Current Setup

Weapon

  • LBG with:
    • Gore Tyranny/Lord’s Soul
    • Crit Ele/Precise, Focus/Precise, ELEMENT/Precise)

Armor

  • Head: G.Rathalos B
  • Chest: Dahaad γ
  • Arms: G.Rathalos B
  • Waist: Dahaad γ
  • Legs: Gore A

Talisman

I think this is the best I have for LBG so far, any recommendations are really appreciated.

  • Rapid Fire Up
  • Peak Performance 1
  • Divine Blessing

Decorations I’m using right now

  • 3x Might
  • 4x Flawless (for Peak Performance)
  • 2x Sane

I feel like I might be wasting value on lvl 3 slots by putting things like Flawless/Might jewels in them.

So I’m wondering:

  • Should I reduce Flawless jewels and rely more on armor/talisman for Peak?
  • What’s the best way to balance lvl 2 vs lvl 3 slots in this kind of build?
  • There is a better armor setup to achive these without wasting Lvl 3 deco slot?

Any feedback is welcome 🙏.

Thanks!

i’ve looked through the glaive docs and i can’t find anything so i’m asking here.

what boosts does glaive want? i’m assuming elemental wants 8 element and 2 attack, but i have absolutely no idea what raw glaive wants (lucent narga wep)

In the google docs guide pinned here the HR41+ progression build has 3 ambush decos. Isn't it a very situational skill? I'm hardly an expert but I feel like you would generally benefit more often from something like earplugs, flawless, destroyer, etc. Especially when playing online.
