Ran aground the other day and the trolling motor did this - am I screwed?
Fishing and got shallow. Motor hit muddy bottom and the little motor that raises and lowers it popped off.
I got the boat free and that motor section seemed to just pop back in place. Used the motor again the next day with the only problem being that it would get stuck almost fully deployed and need a nudge to get it completely vertical.
Any idea if anything might be damaged? Or is that part supposed to pop off as a safety mechanism?
