I'm curious if anyone has been ticketed lately for parking in the road during the day. For years, I have been parking on the street with no issue. I just noticed recently on the website to register your car for overnight parking that you can be ticketed for parking in the road during the day for more than 5 hours at a time. 3 times in the past 2 weeks, parking enforcement has come by around 8am and chalked my tires. I find it strange that suddenly they have been checking my car so often. I looked around the road and saw no other cars with marked tires.
I get home from work at 6 am and usually park in the road, so I'm wondering if one of my neighbors is calling and complaining to parking enforcement about it always being there because they probably see it there right when street parking becomes available at 6am every morning. To anyone else that parks in the road during the day be careful about the 5 hour limit because apparently they're out checking.
⚠️ Be Aware of This Thief ⚠️
An optical store in Milton just had a break-in this past February, and now this happened again — in broad daylight.
A thief came into a optical store and stole handful of expensive sunglasses within moments. It’s extremely frustrating and disappointing to see local businesses being targeted like this repeatedly.
Please stay alert, especially other local business owners. Keep an eye on suspicious activity and secure high-value items as much as possible.
If anyone comes across someone suddenly trying to sell multiple high-end sunglasses, please report it to the authorities.
Someone reported our driveway extension, that was put in many years before we purchased our house. Has this happened to anyone?
Hi, I’m looking for a discrete mathematics tutor for the next 4 months or so (until end of August). Preferably in Milton. Could anyone provide any contact information, or some other online space I could go searching?
Finally a sunny day! Thought I’d play around with my Fujifilm X100VI in downtown Milton.
I’m a beginner photographer. If you have any tips on improvement or suggestions, please share! I’d like to learn.
Terrible experience with Service Ontario at the Milton Mall. The staff there is hugely incompetent in my experience and many customers I have seen literally crash out in the times I visited there thanks to the staff's incompetent and rude behaviour.
In my experience, I went in to renew my license and they got my address wrong, not once, but three times. Atleast, they got it wrong the first time and weren't able to fully fix it the other two times. I don't know what rocket science they need to learn in order to input the correct address.
I had to eventually go to another Service Ontario, outside of Milton, to finally get my renewed documents a month later - but a WHOLE 9 MONTHS LATER AFTER MY FIRST VISIT AT MILTON.
The funny thing is, on my 2nd return to renew my temporary documents, they were giving me a hard time for not having the expired physical license (even though I had the paper one) and were demanding the renewal fee again lol. Luckily, I went back and found it, but it honestly is bullshit.
I guess, this is an Ontario problem as a whole. This entire process should be done online instead of having these useless centers with incompetent staff all across Ontario. This province is decades behind the rest of the world and it's not even funny, embrace the future, because if we don't we will be left behind - which we already are. The rudeness and lack of human empathy I experience at Milton's service center, make me wish we can automate these jobs and shut these service centers down - because atleast AI won't be rude and have the same amount of empathy (infact ChatGPT is kinder to me than the staff).
I was wondering if others had any similar experiences with this Service Ontario? As I saw multiple people crashing out right infront of them lol.
Edit: The cherry on top of the sh1t cake is the ridiculous wait times on a weekday, I went to the other place outside of Milton and it took half the time to see the service rep. Either way, this entire process should be done online anyways - we don't need these service centers and taxpayers can save money instead of having to talk to a bunch of "human" drones at these service centers.
Hi everyone,
I own an end-unit freehold townhome in Milton, Ontario, and I ran into a really uncomfortable situation today that I’d like some advice on.
Our row of townhomes has those interconnecting backyard gates between each unit. I never really thought much about them before since we’ve never had any issues.
Today around 7:30 pm, a random man entered our backyard through our main backyard gate (the one that opens to the outside). He then opened the interconnecting gate to the next yard. When we asked what he was doing, he said he’s a new neighbor and was trying to get to his backyard—which is about 4 houses down.
We were honestly shocked. He didn’t knock, didn’t ask permission, just walked into our backyard with a lawnmower and started going through. When we questioned him, he argued that it’s “the law” that he can access the interconnecting gates through our backyard and that there is public access through it.
That didn’t sit right with us at all.
From what I understand after checking our land registry, there is an easement for the Town of Milton for stormwater/sewage maintenance—but nothing about public access or neighbors having the right to pass through for convenience. I completely understand emergency situations, but this was not one—it just felt like a total lack of basic courtesy and respect for privacy.
Now I’m wondering:
To be clear, I wouldn’t have had an issue if he had just asked first. But walking in unannounced and insisting it’s his legal right felt completely wrong.
Would really appreciate any insight, especially from others in Milton or Ontario who have dealt with similar setups.
Thanks!
Looking for behavioural therapy for kiddos on the spectrum. We’ve been to a few places over the last 4-5 years. One was ridiculously expensive, one abused my kiddo (review ongoing), and one is charging me ridiculous fees on top of their hourly price.
Would love to find some place nearby (doesn’t have to be Milton but that’s a plus).
Thanks so much!! 😘
For those of us who live in a middle townhouse, with a single car garage and a single car driveway (no extension - we kept the grass and front law ), with no backyard access from the garage, and as a family who actually uses their garage for parking their vehicle - where should I keep my garbage bin? Serious question as this new bin is massive (bigger than the standard garbage pails we all have).
Am I the only one who hates this new bin? I’m so concerned that Milton will look like Brampton where these bins are thrown out on the front lawns and driveways and an eyesore.
Hi everyone,
We are planning to move to Milton and are thinking of putting an offer on a house on Duncan Lane, near Scott Blvd and Derry Rd, in the 1036 - SC Scott community.
We really liked the house, but our main concern is the train tracks that run parallel to Duncan Lane. We wanted to ask how the area feels during the evening and nighttime, especially regarding noise and overall safety.
Is this area generally safe for families, elderly parents, and kids? We are planning to start a family, and our parents will also be visiting and staying with us from time to time, so safety and the community environment are very important to us.
Does anyone live nearby or have experience with this area or the train tracks?
Thank you!
Is it free entrance? I won’t be parking. Also, is it safe to go alone?
Did any else experience a gas pump malfunction at the Tremaine & Derry Esso today/recently? Specifically, where the pump didn’t automatically stop/pop when the tank was full, causing gas to overflow out of the tank?
I was at pump 4 around 7PM today and the man at pump 3 also seemed to have experienced it. There was sand/absorbent material already on the ground at my pump prior to my incident. The clerk at the station mentioned that something similar happened this morning as well. Just wanted to see if others also experienced it (if it’s a widespread issue) and to warn others that this is a possibility as I didn’t even think twice to just use the hold/toggle.
I will be keeping an eye out for any gas evap canister related issues that might arise in the next couple days (fingers crossed that one incident doesn’t do too much harm). Will also be informing the Esso station experience team come Monday just to ensure it’s documented.
Hiya! I've come across some medals with nothing more than the name "Jim Cooperwhite" on the bag. It was given by someone's aunt who found it in her home. She says that it belonged to her late husband who had purchased it, possibly before they were married, and doesn't want it. I did some digging and found a Cooperwhite family in Milton and an obituary for a James "Jim" who passed in 2006.
Would anyone in or around Milton know the Cooperwhite family and can verify if these are his? We'd like to return these to the family of the service member.
Not 100% sure where he served but there is a Volunteer Service Medal. We think he was RCOC in the Articifer trade.
Thanks!
If you were to have friends or family come to Milton for the first time what are some “must go to” places including any particular restaurants.
Any good breweries close by.
I've lived in this neighborhood for over 40 years and have never seen anything like this. I think it's a type of weasels? Sorry for the quality of video. Appreciate any info.
