Headlight knob stolen from 2020 Chevy Colorado attempted theft?
Over the weekend I was traveling through San Jose, Los Gatos and Los Banos, visiting family for my grandmother’s memorial. It was a pretty chaotic trip — long drive, just getting over a stomach bug, traveling with my teenage daughter so in honestly I may have slipped once or twice on locking my truck. I wouldn’t put it past me.
I didn’t notice anything until Monday morning when I was back home and heading to work. The headlight control knob on my dash (2020 Chevy Colorado) had been completely popped off and was missing. Couldn’t find the knobs anywhere.
Nothing else appears to be taken, and there’s no obvious damage besides that. It seems really strange. I can’t think of a reason someone would specifically steal just that piece unless they were trying to access wiring behind it.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this something people do when attempting to steal a vehicle, or could it just be random vandalism?
Appreciate any insight — just trying to figure out what I’m dealing with here.

Kango-rex
This one still makes me laugh. Found it on the way to Exmouth.
Curious if that's a popular practise or if I was lucky to come across this little monster?
Trail of poop nuggets
This is a trail of poop nuggets I found in an apartment complex hallway once. I was doing work in the building and I went into a unit, came out a couple minutes later, and found this. It wasn’t there when I went in.
