Day 5: What 0-elixir card is BROKEN?

Cards can be from any season. However, it must be in its current state, or if it was removed, its state at the time of removal. So a card that was previously broken but is now trash does not belong in the "broken" category. You must consider all stars of the card, so if a card is exclusively broken at 4-stars, they don't belong in the "broken" category.

Zero elixir cards are anything spawnable or part of a trait. Examples include skeletons, skeleton dragon clones, buildings, and echo sage. Trait dummy is a 0-elixir card, but you cannot specify which traits the dummy has.

Due to there only being 4 5-elixir cards, one box has been removed, however I will decide later which box will be removed based on community consensus.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for edits and improvements!

A Few Questions for the Devs Who Designed the Echo Sage Ruler

I have a few questions for the devs who designed the Echo Sage ruler.

Question 1:

How is it possible that almost every ruler has a clear advantage in exchange for a clear disadvantage, but Echo Sage doesn’t seem to follow that logic?

For example, the Builder ruler gets extra buildings alongside the troops, but in exchange, it has fewer troops. The Loon ruler gets more troops, but less elixir, and so on.

So how is Echo Sage allowed to have an extra ability that is so broken and overpowered, with an extra troop that can literally delete troops no matter their size, while having no real downside?

There is no downgrade in the number of troops, and no downgrade in the amount of elixir. It just gets a very strong extra unit for free.

Question 2:

Why does the Builder ruler’s building not count as a troop, but Echo Sage’s extra troop does?

With the Builder ruler, if all of the player’s troops are killed and only the building is left, that player is considered to have lost. The building does not count as a troop. You can also see this in the elixir loss, because losing only to buildings is treated differently.

But with Echo Sage, even though the extra Echo troop does not seem to count in the elixir loss, you still have to defeat it after defeating all the player’s normal troops.

That does not make sense. Why does the Builder’s extra building not count as a troop, but Echo Sage’s Echo still needs to be killed?

Question 3:

How did you design a ruler that is so broken that even players who admit that Loon is a brain-dead ruler still agree that Loon at least needs some thought with combinations and troop choices?

Loon can be strong, but it still depends on what troops you get and how you build around them. Echo Sage feels like it does not matter. Just put a few tanks, and you are good.

In a game that is supposed to be about merging and strategy, it makes no sense that Echo Sage can win with barely any real setup. You can see screenshots where Echo Sage players win with something like three tanks, and that is basically it.

Final note:

Since the beginning of this season, when I started seeing this ruler, and since it still has not been nerfed, I now just quit every time I face it. I sell all my troops so the Echo Sage player does not get any upgrades to the ruler.

Even if they still win because they get free wins without any real struggle, fine. At least maybe the developers will see that people are retiring the moment they see this ruler.

Echo sage ruler is cancer and needs a hot fix

I can’t anymore. All games it is echo sage. I even picked up little less cancer long but even he gets bodied from this cancer sage meta. Look at this shit. Full undead plus summoner can’t win.

There was no baby dragon is rotation…

Surly they need to do a nerf on Loong? It’s getting boring now you either play Loong or Sage and become a brain dead labotomite or Play SE and lose before you can make a team

Merge tactics worst state ever

The game is actually in the worst state he has ever been in other ruler than echo and loong are barely playable unless you have insane rng its really sickening to see how much people cant play the game right and just play broken ruler because they suck im considering waiting till next season or just stop playing

Stick your nobles people

I saw a post talking about how people dont know what adjacent means and I literally just saw this in a top 1k game at 3600. Blows my mind he made it to this high and not knowing this important piece of information.

What tf am I doing wrong

Top 1000 king main, ever since I’ve gotten here I’m getting these a lot: I lose the first three rounds on purpose perfectly so that I get dealt two damage every time, then on round four I have three crowns two goblins or four crowns assassin, usually like 16 elixir gained in total cause the rng for king lose elixir is a curve istg.

I get fully wiped from six health by a four star echo or a long with three star executioner and two star monk.

like I’m playing everything perfectly and just can’t win. is it my comp? I run full crown minus prince or knight with goblin and dart to then transition to with bandit and exec or monk, but I just lose on round four to anything but empress (I don’t see much builders or queens, never seen duchess or mage guy). somehow with 12 more elixir than long has I still have worse stars than him and he has one more troop

loong epidemic

why the fuck are there 2-3 loongs in every fucking game, it’s so annoying, every time i start a new game i already know there are gonna be at least 2 loongs waiting for me in the lobby

this shit definitely needs a nerf/rework, just fewer people start using it

maybe the situation changes after reaching 3k elo idk but starting from 1k loongs are literally everywhere

MergeGam(BL)ING Domination

Our clan is dominating the Merge Tactics leaderboard 🔥

We got 8/8 players on the podium. I honestly wasn’t expecting it, but everyone in the clan started to lock in.

Coolboy2000 always carries the clan too unfortunately, he was busy, so he couldn’t make it into this screenshot. He was still in the top 10 though.

Also, fj21 joined us, but isn’t in this screenshot.

And thnx to Diego he is in a different clan but joined us for the ss

This is our Discord server if you want to watch some of our players stream, play tournaments ,discuss Merge Tactics, or join the clan:

The reason why SE is luck based ruler

The old pic is the reason why I think Spirit Empress is a lucked based ruler, not skill based.

Never underestimate the power of titans

Normal Giant buffs all but demolisher giant skeleton because those two need to die to deal damage

Royal giant buffs all but giant skeleton because more firepower is better
