A Few Questions for the Devs Who Designed the Echo Sage Ruler
I have a few questions for the devs who designed the Echo Sage ruler.
Question 1:
How is it possible that almost every ruler has a clear advantage in exchange for a clear disadvantage, but Echo Sage doesn’t seem to follow that logic?
For example, the Builder ruler gets extra buildings alongside the troops, but in exchange, it has fewer troops. The Loon ruler gets more troops, but less elixir, and so on.
So how is Echo Sage allowed to have an extra ability that is so broken and overpowered, with an extra troop that can literally delete troops no matter their size, while having no real downside?
There is no downgrade in the number of troops, and no downgrade in the amount of elixir. It just gets a very strong extra unit for free.
Question 2:
Why does the Builder ruler’s building not count as a troop, but Echo Sage’s extra troop does?
With the Builder ruler, if all of the player’s troops are killed and only the building is left, that player is considered to have lost. The building does not count as a troop. You can also see this in the elixir loss, because losing only to buildings is treated differently.
But with Echo Sage, even though the extra Echo troop does not seem to count in the elixir loss, you still have to defeat it after defeating all the player’s normal troops.
That does not make sense. Why does the Builder’s extra building not count as a troop, but Echo Sage’s Echo still needs to be killed?
Question 3:
How did you design a ruler that is so broken that even players who admit that Loon is a brain-dead ruler still agree that Loon at least needs some thought with combinations and troop choices?
Loon can be strong, but it still depends on what troops you get and how you build around them. Echo Sage feels like it does not matter. Just put a few tanks, and you are good.
In a game that is supposed to be about merging and strategy, it makes no sense that Echo Sage can win with barely any real setup. You can see screenshots where Echo Sage players win with something like three tanks, and that is basically it.
Final note:
Since the beginning of this season, when I started seeing this ruler, and since it still has not been nerfed, I now just quit every time I face it. I sell all my troops so the Echo Sage player does not get any upgrades to the ruler.
Even if they still win because they get free wins without any real struggle, fine. At least maybe the developers will see that people are retiring the moment they see this ruler.
