[Hiring] $100-$200 Looking for an artist who specializes in physical manga art

Hi! I am looking for artists who can create physical media that looks like the above and of Reze. I’m fine with drawings or paintings or watercolor and would like it on a larger canvas/sheet around 24x36 or larger! This is not for commercial purposes at all and is just for me. If I really like your work, I would love to regularly commission more work from you because I want to support artists :) I don’t have a hard deadline on this although a couple weeks seems reasonable. Please reach out!

Hey Everyone,

Let’s start by saying that this is not a “I have an amazing manga idea and I need a free artist to draw my whole series” post.  This is a “I want one free page from a lot of different artists for our mutual benefits!” post.

I would love to create a high quality anthology book that showcases and promotes everyone’s work inside of it. I want to get all of us officially published and get physical copies of your art directly in people’s hands. The challenge is to create a series of one pager stories. I want every flip of the page to launch the reader into a different world with new beautiful art and be awe stricken by one single masterly crafted page.

How I am envisioning it…

Page 1  - The title, a short excerpt about the story, and all your socials/contact info so readers know exactly where to find more of your work. (for both writers and artists, if two people are working together)

Page 2  - Your art. The glorious page that convinces them to go look you up.

Okay, brass tacks. FAQs I can think about at the moment of writing this:

Is this Paid?
NO, not initially. I am asking for one page “donations” to this project. This will be a physical advertisement that will break you out of the typical digital marketing avenues. It's a level of guerilla marketing that will get your work in people's hands, physically.

How would this work logistically?
I am trying to drum up interest right now…  but here is how I see this best working. (subject to change)

  • Discord as a central hub for communication.
  • I will match Artists and Writers if one person isn’t doing both.
  • I will create a standardized template to keep the book looking professional.
  • Create a Kickstarter for the printing/shipping costs. Anything beyond that will go to the profit share pool.(any extras donated will get a larger portion)
  • I will handle the printing and logistics. You get the credit and exposure.

What do I (OP) get out of it?
I’m a writer, not an artist. My selfish goal is to get my scripts out there too. I’ll be writing a ton of one pager scripts that will be up for grabs for any artist who just wants to draw without worrying about a story to insert. I want to be paired with as many of you that will have me! (I’ve attached an example of a page I recently commissioned for the exact project)

How are you(OP) qualified to handle this?
I love collaborations! I have a history of working with people on a variety of creative projects, larger and smaller. I have successfully started a kickstarter before(linked below for proof), so I have a rough idea of how to make it happen.

Hit me with any questions you may have.. I am sure I didn’t cover everything.

I hope you can see that I am not simply looking for free labor for my own gain. I am looking for a collective effort that can benefit all of us. And it honestly would be super dope.

If you are interested. Comment interested. I’ll be sure to send you a message on reddit. If I get enough people, I’ll get working on this pronto. If not, it was fun to dream…

Cheers!

P.S. i had examples of the pages, but the AI mod bot wouldn't let me post it... I thought this server didn't allow AI. haha

I'm writing a book and looking to maybe turn it into a manga, is there anyone interested in drawing it, you would be credited as the artist for the book. It would awesome if you would do it for free but id be willing to pay depending on art quality and price and other details. I plan to publish the book online to an audience of 3k followers on tiktok. Could be an opportunity to put your art on the map

Hi, I’m looking for an artist to collaborate on a one-shot. The story is already fully structured with the NAME + detailed pagination.

Just to introduce the main idea:

A boy survives an attack by a “Mountain God” but in the process awakens an ancient ability. As a knight tries to save him, different forces begin to move: a military organization, a “lineage” trying to capture him, and natural entities (Mountain Gods).

And similarly to what they publish in LinkedIn (just kidding):

What I’m looking for

  • Someone who wants to FINISH a one-shot.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills (we can work on it together)
  • Mid/long-term commitment

What I can offer you (great artist reading this)

  • 100% of the prize to the artist (you) in case we win any contest.
  • A fully structured story not just the one-shot in case of serialization
  • Clear direction for scenes, pacing, and paneling
  • Flexibility to adapt things to the artist’s style. I’d like someone proactive.
  • A project intended for contests or digital publication.

DM me. I can share the first pages of the NAME, some key scenes, and full structure of the one-shot

I prefer to do a small test of 1 page/couple panels/a character before committing to the full project.

Looking for any artists willing to collaborate (unpaid for now) I have an exciting project

Hello guys, I’m creating my own anime world “Batra the Savior” I have a full Volume 1 completed and I believe it’s pretty decent. It centers around 3 main protagonists (Batra, Raxion, and Chex) they have powers but in my world they are called forces. Batra has Astra Force, Raxion has Umbra force, and Chex has Zoul force. Well Astra, Umbra, and Zoul were primordial brothers who created all but disagreed at the end on the final outcome of everything. Umbra kills off Zoul sending his essence and powers to find a vessel(unknowingly) and as Umbra is about to deliver the finishing blow on Astra he completes this spell that kills both of them off sending their powers and essence to find new vessels. Well long story short the vessels will eventually unite under 1 team creating the first anomaly.. Beings are watching and they are not pleased, so they are making preparations and adjusting! If you’re interested in more just DM me! I also have a discord with a small team that I’m currently building. Message me if you’re WILLING to join. Thank you all🤝

I am looking for an artist for my manga I am building, I cant draw all that much but I am a good writer (in my opinion).

It will be a manga with 12 chapters and 18-20 pages for each of them.

6 main characters & about 8 background characters for scenes walking on the street or any scene in the school unless the background characters are not needed.

I can't pay for now but I can offer you 40% of what we earn from the manga, if the manga doesn't go well, I will just be in your debt and pay you forward when I do get the money.

The manga is a BL romance story.

What are the roles of both the artist and author of a shared manga project?

I'm an artist who is currently collaborating with a writer and it's my first working with someone else so I am not sure how it's supposed to go.

I know my role is the art but what I am referring to are designs of the characters and such, the writer already has a vision for how the characters should look like but they are not... dynamic enough (I think that's the word I'm looking for) and the characters seem to have no personality (I think that is mostly due to the writing which we are working on but even the character that seems complete doesn't have that cool of a design), like the character seems flat, like even with simple designs like Luffy you have the signature straw-hat to identify him but the MC of the manga just looks plain, so I'm wondering how much of the design can I change or how to work with my writer partner on this.

how much control do i have over the designs and what is the limit?

also about the art-style, is that entirely up to me or what?

I seriously don't know so please help >_<

For manga/comic page or Illustration:

Black and white - $80

Color - $120

I'm malleable, style-wise, and don't nickel and dime on character designs (rough sketch, not full design sheet), number of panels or revisions, provided they're within reason (e.g. keep the panel number per page generally under 10).

For anything not included above, hit me up, so we can discuss details and price.

Contact me here or in DMs, whichever you prefer.

Hi! My pen name is UniPandaHamster (UPH) and I’m offering manga pages commissions. I have experience working for private clients and I also worked for a spanish publisher for almost three years too; now I’m looking to expand my portfolio and my network.

My comfort zone is making josei, bl, slice of life, some seinen and shoujo type of manga based on everything I ever made, but I’m not opposed to work on other demographics/genres if you’re willing to have patience with me. I’m totally open to learn!

Here you can check my portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/unipandahamster

My rates are currently $30 per page via Paypal or Payoneer, and I’m available to start working now. I have no limit pages, but I would prefer to work on short projects, contests projects, one-shots, or pilot chapters.

For any further information you may need, contact me here or on my Instagram (unipandahamster) or Artstation.

Thanks for reading!
