hi everyone! there’s this certain style (formatting?) in some songs that i’m a HUGE fan of, and was really looking forward to finding more!

i’ll provide some examples of what i’m looking for below, but it’s kind of when a track starts off normal/calming, but slowly escalates/builds up to something messier, rougher, & louder. i know lots of songs w/ big drops, but there’s some specific thing in some of the “main examples” that just hits kinda diff. maybe absence of heavy instrumentals at the start? if anyone knows stuff similar, please let me know! thanks so much :)

main examples:

- fairy song, beabadoobee

- blur, the marias

- killing time, magdalena bay

- vampire in the corner, magdalena bay

- watching tv, magdalena bay

some other examples:

- sorry, beabadoobee

- me and your mama, childish gambino

- 505, arctic monkeys

I am just writing this because I just religiously watch their cover of ashes to ashes and I feel like they would kick ass covering bizarre love triangle

Does anyone know if the Imaginal Disk movie will be streaming the same time or week of the premiere? I don’t know if they commented on it.

I’m not sure if anyone knows for sure but for the premiere at tribeca film fest, i see there’s 3 showings listed. I also read that magbay will be there for a performance and there will be a discussion with the director. Do we think that’s only for the first show or will that include the other 2 as well?

I have major FOMO from missing these early shows because I hadn’t discovered them yet 😭 Still great to watch on YT! So good! Hope you enjoy it too
