Is Mafia 3 worth it?

I just finished Mafia Old Country. I absolutely LOVED mafia 2 as a kid on the xbox and completed it an absurd amount of times. I played mafia 3 a little bit but got very bored very quickly since it kinda strayed away from the whole vibe i was used to.

Now i think i would understand it more and am wondering if its worth a playthrough? I know it has probably the most mixed reviews from all the games so not sure. Is it really any good?

I curse whichever dev came up with racing to step on a Lego every day for eternity

This is the most god awful racing I've ever seen. I've had so many pedestrians dive in front of my car, traffic becoming roadblocks by just stopping for no reason, and the AI cars mysteriously have better acceleration even if I have a better car.

And this is BEFORE the type requirement.

Who the hell thought this was a good idea?????

Mafia Needs a Modern Setting to Evolve

Title: Mafia Needs a Modern Setting to Evolve

Hello,

I’m a big fan of the Snowfall-style storytelling and the Mafia series, but I feel like the historical settings in Mafia are becoming predictable. The storytelling is always strong, but the overall formula needs a fresh direction.

My main suggestion: make the next Mafia game set in the modern world.

Today’s organized crime is global and much more complex — involving different groups (American, Russian, Albanian, Turkish, etc.), each with their own identity, style, and way of doing business.

What could make it stand out:

- Player choice with real consequences (who to trust, who to kill, branching story)

- Business control (casinos, clubs, hotels, illegal operations)

- Territory system (expand, negotiate, or go to war)

- Crew management (give orders, build your own organization)

- Modern atmosphere (luxury lifestyle, power, influence)

- Dynamic and cinematic background music that adapts to the situation and intensifies during extreme or high-tension moments

Story direction (inspired by realistic character progression):

Instead of starting as a powerful criminal, the character should begin as a young person from a poor background, involved in small street-level crime. Step by step, through opportunities, pressure, and choices, the character rises in the criminal world.

Over time, the character changes — not because they were always ruthless, but because the environment, power, and survival shape them into something darker.

The key theme should be:

power is addictive, and once you have it, you can’t walk away.

I believe this direction could refresh the series and make it stand out again by offering a more realistic and immersive criminal experience.

Thank you for your work — I’d love to see the series evolve in this direction.

I would appreciate it if you could evaluate this idea and share your thoughts.

Where did these images come from?

After killing Ritchie Doucet, the game plays one of the documentary cutscenes where it talks about how doucet's death was to scare the mob or whatever, but where do these images come from? We're they made for the game?

Vito didn’t even flinch 😄 — apparently he knew the story in which Burke had to fire 10 shots just to hit a pork knuckle on the counter 🍖

Mafia 2 Dlcs worth playing?

Connie D'marco

You see, Connie, you're popular because you developed early and started giving handjobs when you were twelve, but now you can't stand to look at yourself in a mirror because all you see is a whore. So you pick on Grecco to avoid the inevitable realization that once your body's used up by age 19, you could be a worn-out, chalky-skinned burlap sack that even Vito Scaletta won't want. How's that, am I in the ball park?"
