It's simultaneously a very chill and clever fight. Much like most MHFU monsters, he seems really tough at first but becomes a punching bag as you master the fight.

The positioning is interesting, the hip check is fun to evade or i-frame through and the dynamic of the fight gives you a lot of free windows to reapply buffs.

Also it is fun to get him out of the water with the Basarios HH by timing the sonic wave right.

Plesioth is cool, y'all should fight it more!

Just beat Yian Kut-Ku in ~3:54 on Elder ★3 (MHFU, early game gear – Iron Katana “Grace”).

Not trying to flex or anything, I’m just curious how this compares since I came back to the game after years. It felt fast, but maybe that’s just experience kicking in.

For those who’ve replayed Freedom Unite recently (or remember their runs):
How long did it take you to bring down Kut-Ku around this point in the game?

Also curious if you noticed hunts feeling faster overall when coming back after a long break.

do i get to keep battle training monster carves

when you defeat a monster in the arena during battle training you can carve it, and the carve items are always suiko jewels, do i get to keep those? if i cant keep them i dont know what purpose they'd serve, if i do get to keep them they arent in my inventory so do they just go straight to storage without telling me?

Hello everyone,

I unburied my old psp and did try to replay Freedom Unit. When I leaved the game years before, I was barely into the game since I was stuck after beating the giaprey.

This time I'm a bit better at the game, I did go with the hunting horn but since the start I decided to not buy armors and to not upgrade my starting weapons until necessary. But I'm starting to feel the limits of my way, so I'm asking how realistic it is to keep myself from upgrading my stuff.

I'm now into the level 3 village quest. Congalala was already hard, the fifth hunt did it, but Khezu was almost impossible with my basic hunting horn, since there's so many times where I cannot inflict damage while it was in electric mode. I still did beat the worm with some time to spare by changing to heavy bowgun, but I don't know if I will be damage efficient enough to continue to beat the monsters to come soon with my base stuff: plesioth, gypceros, blangonga and with next rank, Tigrex.

I'll still try, I give myself a minimum of 5 tries for each new monsters, perhaps I will give an update to the sub if I succeed to beat the majority of rank 3 monsters. Did anyone tried some similar chalenge ?? I head about naked run but it is mostly about armor I think.
