Companion parties donating all their troops to towns while in my army?

Is this a bug? Is this happening to anyone else? Hard to get a decent army together when they give my best troops to an already well stocked town every time I go to trade. 😩

I'm on PS5.

So rn i’m an emperor and i’d say i’m late game after 170 hours, my bigggg problem is that i forgot to make children😭 and my whole clan’s family is just 3 people rn, one is 45 ( me ) one is 38 ( husband ) one is 40, so the changes of making kids are VERY low, is this save-able?

Anyone having issues with not being able to position archers?

I have wildings and archers

I have an infantry formation and an archer formation. However, I only have one archer in formation - the commander

Everyone is being considered infantry, so I can’t separate. Normally, it considers archers archers, which makes it easy to manage.

Anyone else face this issue?

asgotha gets every fief

i understand the coding. i get the equation.

i run high charm high trade style where i recruit 2-3 clans of every other faction along the conquest. i always avoid orthling bc i hate asgotha, as she ruins every nord run i do with her dumb face. why does the orthling clan get first dibs and a thousand votes for every fief?

in my current battanian run they started with a castle, and my man calaDAWG has now given her 4 (wants to give a 5th and im savescumming to not allow it) including multiple with high prosperity. we have 5 tier 6 clans , of which 2 of those clans have 2 fiefs each, and arent even able to be voted for.

I discovered a cool feature in Bannerlord

Recently, after several hours of grinding, I was able to assemble a strong army to lay siege to the first city in my game.

I managed to defeat the enemy lords in the area who were threatening me and starve out the garrison. I launched the siege, and the enemy was so overwhelmed that they quickly fled.

They retreated into the fort for a last stand. I was too injured to participate directly, so I sent ~20 of my best elite soldiers out of the hundreds I had. The auto-resolve caused them to lose. This had never happened to me before, and it gave me the chance to find out what happens in that case.

The game treated it as a total defeat: my entire army was destroyed, my inventory emptied, and I was sent to prison.

I saw that old threads mentioned this, so it’s not new. But I find it fascinating that after hundreds of hours of gameplay, you can still discover new things like this. :)

Anyway, I uninstalled the game.

Bannerlord wont start after downloading mods

https://preview.redd.it/b3qsyymui7wg1.png?width=1697&format=png&auto=webp&s=41a40e5929795f16d1edd2115f7e441f044d552e

Hello, as the title says, my bannerlord game won't start after I downloaded mods.

For the full story of how I came to this, I was playing a vanilla game and wanted more companions and subscribed to a steam workshop mod. I used that for a bit, but then wanted more mods and downloaded vortex again to do a couple more that I wouldn't find in the workshop. I completely deleted the game and reinstalled bannerlord and downloaded the mods with vortex to have a clean slate. Now when I go to play the game, I always get a result of the game crashing as soon as I get to the starting loading screen.

I used to play a modded playthrough with realm of thrones, but I can't even get the game working without mods now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else gets this much enjoyment from Bannerlord by treating it like a real medieval drama? My wild prisoner story

I was once a great warlord in Calradia. I defeated enemy lords even when they had a clear numerical advantage. During the wars I captured the Queen of the Southern Empire — Queen Rhagaea — not once, but twice.

Eventually I joined her as a loyal vassal. She helped me win the hand of the beautiful Lady Casiarea from her own clan. I married her, received a castle that I had helped capture, and built a formidable force of 150 elite warriors.

Then the tide turned.

Our castle came under siege. I managed to repel the first assault, but a second one followed almost immediately. We fought bravely — we killed nearly two-thirds of the attacking army — but in the end we were overwhelmed. My wife, my closest companions and I were all taken prisoner.

While I was rotting in the dungeon, Queen Rhagaea chose to make a humiliating peace with our enemies and agreed to pay tribute. By all accounts, the enemy had suffered heavier losses, but she couldn't bear the thought of her friend and valuable vassal remaining in chains. She essentially bought our freedom at the cost of her kingdom's pride.

When I was finally released, I learned that my wife Casiarea had given birth to our child… while both of us were still prisoners.

It’s just game mechanics, sure — sieges, captures, childbirth in captivity, political decisions. But damn… the way it all came together felt like a real medieval tragedy. Betrayal born of friendship, a child conceived in chains, the fall from glory, and a queen sacrificing her realm’s honor for one man.

Who else plays Bannerlord like this? Not just optimizing numbers and conquest, but letting the janky mechanics accidentally write better personal stories than most RPGs? Am I the only one who gets genuine emotional investment from these random events, or do you also turn your campaigns into little medieval dramas?

Looking forward to hearing your stories too!

(This text was translated and polished with the help of AI, so I apologize for any awkwardness or mistakes.)

"Oh yeah...totally forgot this was a trader playthrough."

After conquering Battania, Strugia, and the Empire; I probably should've gone back to work.

I'm struggling to make money without it being a very slow grind of me running about killing groups of looters/bandits

As the title says, I'm struggling to make money to sustain even just my group of 20 soldiers as I feel too weak to get hired as a mercenary for a country and trade stat is too low to make money buying and selling goods. I feel stupid for not understanding what I should be doing haha travelling the map doing quests for village notables and selling loot from looters/bandits and profits from tournaments is how I'm very slowly gaining money right now, but it gets stale after doing it for about an hour.

Anyone got some tips for a returning player who feels like they have no idea what they are doing and need to earn money in early game without being connected to a faction?

Tl:dr: Got tips on how to earn money in the early game?

Edit: gettings lots of awesome advice, you guys are awesome!! Sorry if I'm not replying to all the comments

Do they pay more ransom money if I keep my prisoners with me for a long time?

If I keep rejecting the ransom offers, will the ransome money go higher over time?

I ran into my old self!

Years ago, I created a character named “Hikhara” from the Khuzait civilization. I had carefully researched the name to ensure it was etymologically accurate. There was definitely no NPC with that name in the game. I played through Hikhara’s story for quite some time and formed a strong bond with her.

Getting back to the topic, I’ve been playing a character from the Imperial civilization for a while now. The Khuzait had besieged a city that belonged to me. When I went to defend it, I saw Hikhara among the attackers. Yes, I saw Hikhara. I was completely stunned, thinking, “How is this possible?!” I got lost in my memories for a long time.

Has anyone else experienced a moment like this?

Favorite Troop?

As the title says, what's your favorite troop?I'm curious on what y'all say. I am torn between Nord Huscarl, Sturgian Heroic Linebreaker, and Battanian Fian Champion.

Edit: I'm not asking for y'all to choose between my 3. I genuinely want to know YOUR favorite.

Fiefs

I’m never up for consideration for fiefs when I’m involved in the siege or lead the siege. Why am I not being considered?

Parties not filling

I’m quite new to bannerlord and have started to make parties so I can have a big army without using influence, but I make a party and fill it with troops and the party suddenly loses like 30 people out of 110. I heard it could be morale but don’t know how to fix that/where to see it. Thank you
