Time to say goodbye
2018 STi. Let her go at 127k miles. Put almost 50k daily driving miles on her. She was mechanically perfect. Stock motor, stock clutch. Moved to a M440i. I will miss her.

As they say in Baltimore when they come to Ocean City, MD. This pic is of my 2025 by the inlet in Ocean City, MD. It was such a lovely day yesterday I had to take a pic.
I just recently got my m440i (I love her she’s the best) but I’m looking to some mods, nothing crazy because it is my daily.
I obviously want to make it sound good and look good too, I’m planning on replacing the front grill with the horizontal slots one, but other than that what do you all think would be the best first mods on it — cosmetic & engine/interior wise?
Also, for a budget I would want to stay under $3k-$4k for total mods.
EDIT: I plan on adding tints as well I’ve made an appointment to get that done!
Found this bad Larry while I’ve been looking for an m340i. I love the kidney bean grill on these, obviously not a hot take here. Just wondering why you GC guys chose 440 over 340?
I used Adam's Graphene Ceramic Coating Advanced and a full vacation day. :)
Post up pics and specs of your most aggressive wheel and tire fitments. (post if you are awd or rwd).
I'm currently used market hunting a rwd 440i gran coupe, in any non black/white/base gray color. (Brooklyn and Dravit grays are sorta ok). I'm looking at 45k and down OOTD, with 40k miles or less. It seems like rwd GCs are already rare on the used market, and many of those are ex-fleet white. I can wait and search for a while (and my price range loosens as I save), but am I searching for an actual myth?
Also, what are y'alls monthly maintenance costs looking like? I'm coming from an frs where I diy anything that isn't engine/trans out, (or tire mounting/alignment), and am planning to do my own oil and general upkeep, but I'm still prepared to be sticker shocked. What does it look like for models in mid milage.
M440iX Gran Coupe
Here’s to it lasting slightly longer than the last lip 🥂 (not holding out too much hope though on these pothole fiesta Aussie roads)
My first coupe , always drive SUV before, after wash i found my left velg screwed dont remember how it happen then today when i want to park i accidentally hit my right velg, not too hard but ding gong my right velg also screwed, before when i hit sidewalk with SUV , my wheels always going up sidewalk but now instead of going up i hear brag!
Hello everyone! After debating, we've decided to keep our M440i as a third car and mostly daily driver instead of trading it in. On that note, I want to make sure that I've checked all the boxes on important service and any "upgrades" that can be done to belts, hoses, etc.
I've had the following done since buying it new (currently 57,xxx miles).
6 oil changes and a 7th scheduled next month (about every 8k miles).
Brand new set of tires at 39,000 miles (currently at 6/32 all the way around - probably replacement in the next 6 months
3 Brake Fluid exchanges - every 2 years, roughly every 20k miles
Full front differential service
Full rear differential service (these were both done at 50k).
Climate Control EVAP service (had a coupon, at 50k)
New air and cabin filters regularly
Transfer Case service at 50k
Transfer Case and Transmission Mount replacement (55k miles)
Complete rear brake replacement (Pads, wear sensors, disks, bolts)
Based on some of my reading, what I think is up at 60k:
New Plugs (are their better plugs, other things to be done during this service)
Transmission service (can the plastic pan be improved/replaced)
Serpentine Belt
Are there any other things that I can do to ensure (the best we can) the long term reliability and safety of the vehicle. My plan is to move to every 6k or twice annual oil changes after the 60k service as well.
It's been a great car, want to keep it as such.
Thanks!
Went and test drove a new 2026 M440i at a dealership nearby that we’ve given our business to in the past. After the test drive, I asked for some out the door numbers so I could sleep on it.
$72,500 MSRP, I was expecting after taxes and such to put me in the high 70s out of the door.
The rep comes back 10 minutes later from his sales manager, no negotiations, offering me $7000 off MSPR. Out the door at $69,900. Said that they want to get this deal done soon so he wanted to come at me with an aggressive offer. Basically 0 dealer add ons.
I know I could negotiate it further, but is this a pretty fair price for an M440i with pretty much all the bells and whistles? I loved the car and it is absolutely at the top of my list.
Went to dealer after 1.5 months of ownership cause I noticed a weird wearing rear brake thing. Had another issue looked at fixed while I was there too for a wind whistle.
What I didn’t expect to get today was a new water pump under warranty. My new to me 45k mile apparently had a leak I did not know about.
Oh well. That’s done for now at least.
Wanting to get new wheels soon, what color combo works silver vs bronze on tanzite blue
