Hello! I’m new to the brand and just starting to explore it a bit. The Speedy, in various forms, has been on my radar for a few years on and off. I just find it to look so effortless and practical. I’ve recently found one from 1996 and would like opinions on the cost for condition, etc. I personally think it’s beautiful. It’s listed for $950 cad including shipping, so about $910 cad. In usd that’s about $655 currently, plus the cost of shipping.
My other question is about a strap—my understanding is that if I want to use a shoulder strap, I’d have to either get D rings installed or attach them to the existing rings. Is that right? Does attaching it to the existing rings make it sit weird on the body?
And as for age, I’ve read that the 90s were a great year for quality. But if I want this to last for years, and don’t “baby” my bags (I’m an active mom of 3, etc., always on the go), is a bag this old still a good choice for me?

Trying to decide between the Eden nano speedy vs the new blue Jean speedy 20; both are something different and unique vs my current collection. Besides the obvious size difference what is your guy’s thoughts? Which one looks classier yet stylish? Which one would go better with outfits, as I do wear various prints and colors?

Can a neverfull really handle the weight of a heavy chunky dell laptop and lots of other folders and notebooks and papers? I currently use a Vera Bradley backpack. Sick of carrying a stupid backpack. Love the idea of a beautiful classy bag. But worried it just can’t handle the weight like the Vera Bradley backpack can. Size wise, I think a neverfull MM could definitely fit the stuff. But just thinking in terms of the heavy weight being too hard on the straps and the bag itself? Is it a dumb idea to use a neverfull to carry very heavy stuff? I worry the black empreinte would stretch out and lose the imprints and look saggy haha. I worry monogram canvas would maybe crack? And then the thin straps of course could be an issue with either color/material? Anyone use a neverfull as a heavy laptop bag???
