aggressive driver warning!

this incident happened today, Saturday, may 9th at around 11 am. Trying to get to my appointment but this guy comes around like a bat out of hell, illegally passing me going south on N 400 E, my guess he was going about 80mph. Caught up to him on the corner of LDS church building since it’s a four way stop and took this picture at the light on 1400 N.

I have his license plate but not going to post, just wanted to warn folks about this angry, micro penis manlet driving recklessly in a white Ram. :)

Stray Cats Looking for Home

Hey everyone,

There are so many sweet stray cats that wander around near my apartment complex. I occasionally leave cat food out for them, and I am moving soon. I feel so bad leaving them. A few of them are so sweet and I know would warm right up to a good home. There is even a mom who recently birthed 3 kittens. They can’t be more than a few weeks old.

Is anyone looking for a cat/cats to take in? Or know anyone that is interested? There is one in particular that loves humans so much and asks for pets almost everyday!! Please let me know!!

Btw animal control has been contacted before to spay/neuter and release. As far as I know they were able to do that to a few of them, but not them all. There is about 6-8 of them. Not including the kittens

Any Data Analysts?

Anyone in the valley that currently has a career in the data analytics field that can assure me that I’m not wasting my time with school? I’ve changed my major about 4 times at USU and finally think data analytics fits me, but the rise in AI just scares me. I don’t want to be stuck at my blue collar college job forever lol. Also are there even many places up here to get a career in that field?

Have any young adults moved to Salt Lake from Logan and regretted it?

Background: 27M feeling like I should be in the busy city for career growth and dating. That's mainly it. I love Logan and know there are drawbacks to Salt Lake. Non LDS

My husband and I are considering opening a small independent record store in Logan. Seems odd NOT to have one in a University town. I worked in the NYC music industry for a long time back in the day (at MTV and with bands.) Thoughts on this possibility?

Im sure everyone has already heard that commissioners in Box Elder have approved to keep moving forward with the disgustingly huge data center. Aside from the obvious water depletion, how will this affect its neighboring county of Cache Valley?

Forming a Group to Fight the Data Center!

Forming a Group to Fight the Data Center!

Hey guys! Fellow Utahn here! Like so many of you, I am deeply concerned about the Stratos Data Center development in Box Elder County and how it will impact Cache Valley. As I’ve spoken with family, friends, and co-workers about the issue, it seems we keep returning back to three primary concerns: (1) lack of information about the project (e.g. how much water will it actually use?) (2) lack of information about how to get involved/fight it, and (3) no unified place for us to mobilize/communicate. I’ve spent the last week researching the project and contacting local organizations/experts to get more information, both about the potential impacts of the development and our realistic avenues to stop it. So far, I have received some replies with very helpful information!

Throughout this process, I have been amazed by the collective action that has already begun to take place! However, I have searched for a unified place where I could find and share information, but haven’t been able to find one, so I decided to start one! As of today, I will be running the Stratos Watch newsletter and Instagram page! I will send out/post information that I gather, and you can also reply to the newsletter or DM me with any important info that you might have, so that we can keep spreading the news!

(I considered a discord server but I worry that would get too chaotic/confusing)

If you would like to receive information, updates, and action items in either of those formats, you can sign up/follow at these links:
Follow the Stratos Watch Instagram Page: https://www.instagram.com/stratoswatch/
Join the Stratos Watch Newsletter: https://stratos-watch-utah.kit.com/f160c6a88c

If we keep working together, I really think we can stop this thing!

ISO hunting friends!

(M22) This is kinda a stretch but im a new hunter here in the valley. Ive mostly harvested rabbits but Ive got a tag for the spring general turkey this year with no luck so I figured I would reach out and see if any other hunters on here want to join me! As an incentive im willing to give you the bird if we get it, and I have a truck too so you don’t gotta spend on gas. No idea if this kind of post is allowed but I figured its worth a try

They make you play games by “clipping” coupons when they could just have that be normally applied to your account.

They only have 1 lane open and encourage self checkout which ALWAYS thinks I’m stealing, needing a clerk to help me with my damn transaction.

They’re understaffed, with nobody on the floor if I have any questions.

Overall the prices suck. Very expensive grocery store pound for pound on a lot of items.

Their reward program creates an illusion of a deal.

I will give them credit that their produce options and deli counter is solid.

trail running?

I’ve been exploring for a while now and have not turned up much, are there any trails in the range that aren’t too steep to run for a casual day (not the bst)? most all of the trails i’ve been on are just brutally steep and good for training but not just a go out for a run type of trail. looking for stuff in the 8-15 mile range.

The Gardeners' Market starts tomorrow (5/9)

Hello all.

One on CV's best events starts up again tomorrow. The Cache Valley Gardeners' Market will be from 9a to 1p every Saturday through mid-October.

Here is the link:

https://gardenersmarket.org/

Here is the skinny in bullet points:

* It is held next to the Old Courthouse at the intersection of 200 North and Main Street.

* Tons of free parking. Enter from 100 West. You can also park free across the street next to Logan City Hall.

* The city Route 7 bus does stop next to the Market, but the Saturday schedule is limited to hourly.

* Bathrooms are available in the county offices building.

* Live music is scheduled every week. Usually 10a to noon. It can vary based on the act. The music lineup is on the webpage. CV has a magnificent array of great musical acts. You will enjoy what you hear.

* There are some benches near the music tent to get off your feet. They are under the shade of trees. It is not uncommon for people to bring their own folding chairs to hang out for a time. You can also sit on the Courthouse steps, front and back.

Please show up to socialize and support our local businesses. And stroll through downtown, too. Make a day of it. Cafes, bars, restaurants and other great businesses usually do very well on Market Saturdays. Your $ boosts our economy.

Logan is as good or bad as we make it. The CVGM is one those events that makes our home a wonderful place to live.

See you there!

Best nursery

What’s everyone’s favorite nursery in town for flowers? I wanna plant something in a pot outside my door (gets sun maybe 1/4-1/2 the day) for my cat. She loves flowers but she goes down to the neighbors a few apartments down and chews on their flowers which I don’t mind her chewing, just not on someone else’s flowers. So getting her, her own lol.

Anyways just wondering which nursery everyone prefers for flowers. I’d rather by local than a store like Home Depot, UNLESS a store like that has really good flowers lol

Has anyone noticed the door to door sales shysters are starting to knock doors in the logan/Providence area? Had a kid from Vivint stop by on Friday I told him I wasn't interested and was annoyed he ignored the "no soliciting" sign on my door. He wasn't taking no for an answer i finally told him to get off my property or the next person he would be speaking with would be a sheriff's deputy. I swear these d2d sales guys really get my goat!
