[OC] Chinese EV Manufacturers Now Building Cars in Europe: Here Is the Full Picture

Chinese EV makers are starting to build more of their cars in Europe instead of just exporting them from China.

BYD, Xpeng, GAC Aion, Chery and Leapmotor already have or are setting up production in Hungary, Austria and Spain, mostly because of EU tariffs on Chinese-made EVs.

It’s still a mix at the moment. Some factories are mainly assembling imported parts from China, while others are starting to bring in local suppliers and production processes.

[OC] Leapmotor Prices in Germany: What Subsidies Really Mean for the Final Cost

Leapmotor is currently running a pretty aggressive leasing promotion in Germany. The T03 starts from €49/month, and the B10 is advertised from €149/month.

On paper, those prices look extremely low for brand new EVs, but there’s a catch. Those prices assume you qualify for the full German EV subsidy and that the leasing setup lines up exactly as advertised. If not, the real monthly cost can end up quite a bit higher.

My new B10 arrived yesterday, huge upgrade and change of style of car to what I’m used to. I’ve done quite a bit of research prior to getting the car and in the last day or so. If anyone has any top tips to prioritise that would be great 👍

Cant decide which option C10 - AWD or Long Range BEV

Cant decide which option C10 - AWD or Long Range BEV.
AWD would be nice for winter although in NZ the winters are not so bad.
Also get the 800v architecture with both I believe.

Later this year there is meant to be an even newer updated version so maybe better to wait?

Can I use Carlinkit and built in dashcam at the same time?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question, I got my Carlinkit yesterday for my c10 and work just fine. However I’m not able to use the built in dash cam anymore.
Anyone had the same problem and any advice please?

Best B10 deals

Looking for a B10 PCP or Lease deal.

Currently seen £295 a month with £295 deposit. Can anyone confirm if there is anything better out there?

Most are struggling with stock, but I know there is a competitive Tesla M3 deal atm and I need something bigger with 2 kids.

Thanks

Trying to decide between leasing a Leapmotor T03 for 92€ or a fully loaded B10 for 207€, both 3 years / 10k km.

It’ll mainly be a second car for city stuff only: school runs, gym, restaurants, shopping, etc. Almost no Autobahn.

What would you do?

Has anyone seen this message before on a Leapmotor?

“Extended range system failure”

It showed up on my screen (REEV version). The car still runs, but I’m not sure if it’s something serious or just a temporary software glitch.

Did it happen to anyone else? What was the fix?

I hope, there is a workaround because the dealer told me, the car needs to be locked when not in use. If unlocked, it's "ON" and will empty the battery, it's only "OFF" when locked.

The thing is, we park our cars inside our property, the gate is locked, the cars aren't. This way ee can always access it to get something out, or put something in (like empty bags for the next trip to the grocery, taking out food for our livestock we bought the other day, preparing for a longer roadtrip, etc)

Is there a way to leave the car unlocked without draining the battery? Will it go to sleep/standby/turn off after some time?

Thanks for your time!

hello! i have a newly purchased Leapmotor B10 and I am going to leave it home for holiday for about 2 months in the summer. I heard some people say I should use it every week or so or else the battery is going to be severely affected. Is this true? If so do I have any options except lending it to friends in hopes they will drive it?
Can you please help me?

Thank you!

I understand the vehicle platform was designed around 2022, so I’m curious whether advancements in battery energy density could allow for a higher capacity pack within a similar physical footprint.

That said, I assume there are constraints beyond just cell size as battery packaging, thermal management, structural integration, weight limits, and BMS/software compatibility.

Has anyone explored whether the platform could realistically support a larger battery, or would this require a complete redesign of the vehicle architecture?..
