Enjoy the blossoms in Greenwich Park this weekend
The famous Cherry Blossom Avenue in Greenwich Park is in full bloom and should stay that way for a few days (weather permitting) so this weekend and early next week will be good to see them. The park is open from 6am to 8pm. There's a Mobility Buggy Service running between St Mary's Gate (the one at the bottom of the park near Cutty Sark) and Vanbrugh Gate (near the Ignatius Sancho café (and loos), with another stop at the Pavilion Café (and loos) near the Observatory / General Wolfe statue.
Quickest access to the blossom avenue is Blackheath Gate.
The ones at Chesterfield Gate are also looking fantastic. The big one in the Flower Garden near Vanbrugh Gate has had some petal drop so looking a tiny bit depleted (but still lovely) and the carpet of petals on the grass beneath it will become very pretty.

"Play" as an adult in London
Hello, I’m curious about what play looks like for young adults in London, not just in the obvious sense, but all the weird, creative, social, or low-key ways people are having fun right now. Whether it’s niche hobbies, online communities or childhood throwbacks. Would love to hear about anything that feels playful, joyful, or a bit escapist in your day-to-day life in London.
Achey teeth on the tube
This is so strange I know, but does anyone have the same thing as me?
When I am on the tube at certain points my teeth really start to ache. I don’t know if it is to do with being very deep underground at points, but for example I get it at Paddington (on Bakerloo line) at Euston (on northern line).
Best Morley’s?
For me it’s West Norwood, the fried chicken is perfect, no notes.
"Spring break" "Daglanta" "Biami" can we just stop it man can we just stop it now

What are your favourite independent bookshops?
Done a similiar thing for food spots. I wonder what are some of your preferred bookshops all across the city.
Good wine bars in London?
I have a girl I want to take out.
Why does a quick trip in London always turn into a full mission?
Went out the other day thinking I’d just pop out quickly, grab one thing, and be back in under an hour. Somehow it turned into switching lines, waiting around, and walking way more than expected. Nothing even went wrong, it just adds up without you noticing. By the time I got back it felt like I’d done a whole day out instead of a quick errand. Now I automatically give myself extra time even for small plans because it never stays small. Feels like distance doesn’t mean much here, it’s all about how long it actually takes to get anywhere. Anyone else just assume everything will take longer than it should?

This Week in Harrow
Morning neighbours,
Pinner has a local brag this week: Mouse & Grape on Marsh Road has been named Best Cheesemongers 2026 by the Farm Shop & Deli Show, plus Highly Commended in the New Retailer category. That's a national award. Worth walking past and seeing what the fuss is about.
Also: voter registration closes tomorrow (Monday 20 April, 11:59pm) and postal vote applications close Tuesday 21 April at 5pm. If you're not registered or don't have photo ID sorted, five minutes today beats a regret on Thursday 7 May.
For the week ahead: Tube strikes Tuesday to Friday - check TfL status before you leave. If you're commuting, give yourself extra time.
On the lighter side: Sound Bath at Pinner Village Hall on Saturday evening is the pick this week if you want something different from the quiz circuit. Calms mind and body, apparently.
Full issue with quiz nights, kids activities, the new mum and baby circle, and the local networking brunch:

Pet of the Week this week is Nellie, a dog who stands on her hind legs and wiggles with excitement when she meets someone new. Exactly the energy we need on a Sunday morning.
Every month one subscriber wins a £10 M&S gift card. Two seconds to subscribe and you're in.
