If only Knoxville had ambitious developers…

MHM Architecture was honored to participate in this year’s East Tennessee Community Design Center (ETCDC) Community Collaborative, reimagining two key North Knoxville sites as catalysts for connectivity, reinvestment, and long-term growth. Our proposal explored a more walkable, mixed-use future through adaptive reuse, new housing opportunities, activated public spaces, and stronger neighborhood connections — all rooted in community input and the existing character of North Knoxville.

Down The Road ➡️ $300 Million Amphitheater coming to The Bend in Chattanooga

It’s wild how vastly different Chattanooga cares about what the people want and utilizing natural geography effectively. Will Knoxville ever invest into riverfront redevelopment? Holston Gasses sight appears to be the last chance, it’s important to fight and let our voices be heard

Petroleum tanks on river in south knox

Anyone know what Marathon plans for this facility? I want to live in the area but the tanks come with a elevated cancer risk within 1 mile radius. Also they were built in 1965 so likely grandfathered into lower standards.

The land itself must be worth a fortune by now, wondering if they might sell at some point.

I get messages almost weekly about these two projects in particular. To be honest, I am just as interested and curious as the rest of you. What’s the updates? Truthfully, nothing. Both projects have been stuck in limbo. Unless anyone has new information, I will simply say they are both stalled. Particularly surprised the AJ hasn’t started construction yet. This would be the 3rd or 4th time the developers have significantly delayed their groundbreaking promises
