Anyone in internal audit need advice

Hey everyone,

Need some honest advice from people in KPMG / audit / risk roles.

I’m currently working as a Transfer Pricing Analyst at a KPMG, but my background is actually more aligned with audit and taxation. I have ~4 years of experience overall — most of it in CA firms where I’ve handled statutory audits, tax audits, ITR filings, and worked on internal controls and compliance-related areas.

Right now, I’ve come across an Internal Audit (Executive) opening within KPMG Assurance & Consulting Services, and the role involves process consulting, risk advisory, and internal audit work — which is more in line with where I want to build my career long-term.

A couple of things I’m thinking about:

- I’m currently pursuing MSc in International Accounting & Finance and ACCA (6/13 cleared, more exemptions expected soon)

- My current role is in Transfer Pricing, so I’m worried about how strongly my profile will be considered for IA internally

- I’ve heard switching early is easier vs getting stuck in TP longer

My question is:

👉 Should I apply right away for this IA role, or wait until I complete more ACCA papers / get formal exemptions to strengthen my profile?

Also:

👉 From a hiring perspective, would my prior audit + tax experience be considered relevant enough for Internal Audit / Risk roles, despite my current TP role?

Would really appreciate insights from anyone in IA / Risk / KPMG hiring side.

Happy to share more details if needed. Thanks in advance!

What is it really like to work in Big4 (PwC/KPMG/EY) as a Senior Associate in Data Privacy / Risk Consulting?

Hey guys,

I need some honest advice.

I’ve got an offer for a Senior Associate role in Big4 (risk/data privacy side) and I’m a bit confused after reading mixed reviews everywhere.

Some people say it’s great for learning and growth, others say it’s too hectic, long hours, multiple clients, burnout etc.

I come from a more stable background and don’t have hardcore consulting experience yet, so I'm just trying to understand the reality before joining.

A few things I wanted to know from people

actually working there:

What does your typical day look like?

Is the work mostly documentation (like audits, assessments etc.) or more client-heavy?

How bad are the working hours really?

Do you get any work-life balance at all?

How much travel or client-side work is involved?

Is it manageable for someone new to consulting?

Not looking for sugarcoated answers — just want the real picture so I don’t regret the decision later.

Thanks!

KPMG India HR Discussion → 1 Week Silence After Compensation Mismatch. Normal or Move On?

Hey all,

Looking for some real insights from people who’ve been through KPMG India hiring.

Context:

- **Cleared all rounds for a Consulting (**Data Privacy) role at KPMG India

- HR discussion happened last week (Tuesday)

- I quoted ~14L fixed based on existing offers (shared with HR)

- HR mentioned i need to check on this compensation and she said she’ll get back in 1-2 days

Since then:

- It’s been ~1 week

- Sent multiple follow-ups → no response at all

- No rejection / no update / complete silence

Now I’m trying to understand what this typically means:

  1. Is this kind of delay normal at KPMG when approvals are involved?

  2. Does silence usually mean “on hold / backup candidate” or “rejected but not communicated”?

  3. Do they come back after a week+ in such cases or should I stop expecting?

  4. At what point do you consider this effectively closed?

I do have other offers in hand and need to decide soon, so trying to gauge whether to wait or move on.

Would appreciate honest inputs—especially from folks in consulting / Big 4.

Thanks!

Last mile in your selection journey

I got this email from KPMG asking me to submit a few documents and CAF form. Just trying to understand what this means for my candidature; does it usually indicate I’m close to the final stage and selection?

Also, what should I expect next? Is it typically just an HR round (salary, role, joining date), or are there more interview rounds after this?

And how long does this stage usually take? If everything goes well, how much time does it generally take for the final offer to come through?

KPMG India offer delay after HR discussion – normal or red flag?

Hey,

Cleared all rounds for a Consulting role at KPMG India.

Had HR discussion ~2 days back, quoted ~14L fixed (based on another offer). HR said let me check with business and Since then, no update.

Just wanted to check:

- Is 2–4 days delay normal for internal approvals at KPMG?

- Do they usually come back with a counter, or go silent if budget doesn’t match?

- Should I wait or move ahead with other offer?

Would appreciate honest inputs from anyone who’s been through KPMG hiring.

Anyone in KGS/KPMG Mumbai? I am a recently qualified ACCA and looking to get in there but having no luck

Its been 3 months since I qualified and the job market is so bad and hr ghosting is so normalised its crazy. I have been told I will get offer after multiple interviews and gotten ghosted (at other companies). I really really am set on KPMG/KGS and don't know how to get in. Can anyone here help out from the inside? I am looking for M&A/FDD/FAAS/TAS/Financial Reporting roles and would really appreciate any help. I am great with picking things up and learning on the job and my previous employers have been pleasantly surprised with my deliveries of surprise/out of my scope assignments.

No update after final round

Had a partner interview about two weeks ago for a advisory role, had applied via a referral. Interview was decent.

Haven't heard from kpmg since. Have tried calling the HR,but no response. Have emailed them too.

Is this normal? Or is it safe to assume I have been rejected?
