These girls sucked ass and ruined the show.

These girls sucked ass and ruined the show.

The reason people shit on mako mermaids bc Lyla and nixie left for other projects giving us two boring ass characters. Ondina has no spunk and Absolutely Zero charisma unlike Lyla and Mimi had Zero Swag or toughness like nixie. Weilan was a ICONIC ASS QUEEN but came in too late for 16 episodes. Also their acting was sooo bad it just ruined the show for me. The most iconic trio on mako mermaids will forever be Lyla , nixie , and Sirena , and to be honesty I feel like Ondina and Mimi were too one noted/one dimensional they had absolutely nothing to show besides being a straight up bitch ( Ondina ) or being too naive and sweet ( Mimi)

I absolutely adore Rikki's wardrobe.

Rikki is my most fav character I absolutely love her wardrobe out of all 3. These cute tops with baggy jeans and converse with a ponytail or bun and a smart watch. Simple yet beautiful.

Love Rikki sm her character is my fav and her wardrobe too.

Just moved into heavy h20 territory 😂

About a year ago finally moved to the Gold Coast which was a life long dream. Initially was further south which i really enjoyed and funny enough my local beach was Miami/North-Burleigh beach which has those big rocks from the beach cut scene (only recently found out this).

Fast forward to a few months ago and i moved down to biggera waters/ Runaway Bay area and i decided to rewatch the whole series again. Just started season 2 and i was really starting to catch the vibe that alot of the scenes were around my new local area. Did some digging and turns out it is super local to where i am now 😂had literally no idea I’m currently living in the immediate vicinity to alot of scene locations. Juicenet cafe location is like 6 mins down the road, Cleo’s house film location and Emma’s house film location are very close to where I’m at. Runaway bay Marina is just down the road which looks like a-lot of the marina scenes were filmed at.

All this feels super cool as I’ve always loved the show but never really knew much about this northern side of the Gold Coast. I’d barely even heard of areas like Hollywell, Runaway Bay and Biggera waters didn’t really know they even existed, next minute I’m actually living here and in such close proximity to some of the most iconic H20 locations 🌊🧜‍♀️

How would a spin-off 20 years after the finale go?

Some of my headcanons:

• Cleo and Lewis would both be biologists who had a successful career abroad, but their daughter is going through mermaid-related changes so they moved back home so she could be closer to Mako.

• Rikki stays running Rikki’s café, and “dives” on the side (as seen in Mako Mermaids).

• Zane becomes a finance bro who lives in the city, but will still always have a soft spot for Rikki.

• Emma is married and has a son; although her husband knows her secret, she hasn’t gone near the water in years. Being with the girls again reignites her love of the water.

• Bella and Will broke up shortly after graduation. Bella is a high school music teacher, who tries to write her own music but it always falls flat and she struggles to find inspiration. Being with the girls and being one with the water with them again gives her the inspiration to write beautiful music.

I designed this on Canva and got it printed as a t-shirt and I'm obsessed!! I didn't know where else to share it 🤣 What do you guys think? 😇🧜🏻‍♀️🎣🐠

UPDATE: This got a lot of attention so I decided to sell it on Redbubble. The link is in the comments!

This has always bothered me sm😭

Its just a notice of detail that has annoyed me everytime i watch this episode (which is my fave) and i can never miss this. You can see the girls laying normally on Emmas bed but then the laws of physics and time change and we have this monstrosity. YOU CAN EVEN SEE LEWIS EXITING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED. Am I making sense or no?

Beautifully Shot Scene

Mako Mermaids gets a lot of hate but you guys cannot lie and say the tails in this scene don’t look beautiful

u/Consistent-Cod676 — 6 days ago

There was no reason to not explore Bella's backstory, since we also saw her as a child, this plot had a lot of potential

They literally focused everything on Will's figure (but honestly no one cared) when we all wanted to know more about Bella's life before coming in S3. She would've brought more secrets, stories, support to the girls and maybe someone trying to out her in the past... we got nothing about it

Cleo is OP

I’m thinking about making a YouTube video about how op Cleo’s power’s actually are (but I’m thinking without limitations) like if using her powers took little to no energy and she could harness it all at once. Or the technicals. Like she can technically make water spawn out of seemingly nowhere because there’s water everywhere. She could pull water out of her tail and transform back but for some reason she doesn’t in the show?

Hear me out on this one: she could “fly”. It’s her ability to either use water as a jet pack, or her ability to control wind. I mean the three mermaids did make Lewis fly out of the volcano.

Another one: she could control the body movement of others (based on her ability to move liquids and we know it’s not just water because she moved Miriam’s blood) so if you think about it, maybe she could control others.

Tell me if I’m just being silly or if that’s actually something you’d watch on yt 😅 I’ll get fully into it and everything dw. And if you have any out of the box ideas for the 3 mermaids, lmk!

I'm looking for shops that sell a h20 just add water locket that is more circular and accurate to the show. Every online shop I find seems to make them awkwardly long and oval shaped so it feels too much like something an old woman would wear. The actual circular lockets are so cute and I don't understand why no one is making them in this shape and then listing them as 'exactly like the show'

There must be a seller somewhere that sells the correct circular shape with the dome shaped front. Please recommend some good shops or sellers below. Looking for a sterling silver one if possible

The Untold Story of Rita: What are your theories?

When they revised the story after season 1 due to absence of Nixie and Lyla, a lot of plot points ended up going nowhere. One of these is Rita's mysterious past. What actually happened with Harry? How did he die? Character description in now-defunct website states that when they found out that Rita is seeing a landboy, she became a pariah. She then ran away to the land. In season 1, the pod council was definitely planned to be a much more strict and remorseless entity, compared to more approachable and reasonable portrayal of Veridia. What if pod council killed Harry? What if Veridia herself killed Harry to keep the secret? Season 1 workdbuilding definitely had higher stakes, so I can see dark things being planned for the initial plot. There also was an implied parallel between Rita and Sirena, they both fell in love with a land boy. David's character description sounds like he would question things and maybe even find out. Maybe Sirena would have to make a choice to protect David from Harry's destiny. I see also a parallel between Nixie-Sirena and Veridia-Rita. Rita left her best friend to live on land with her loved one. I can see Nixie also being upset tp find out that Sirena wants to stay on land.

In season 2, they carried that conflict to Mimmi-Ondina-Eric instead. However, it doesn't really go anywhere. Rita just counsels Ondina once. Then Ondina doesn't have to make a choice anymore because Eric turns out to be an insufferable idiot who almost genocides his loved one's race just because of his curiosity. In the same epsiode where Rita counsels Oninda (S2 Ep22, Last Dance) they never talk about Sirena's future with or without David. Sirena would also have to make a choice between her pod and David, but the whole episode she acts like an emotional support for others, without her own problems instead. Maybe they wanted to make sure that the audience doesn't recall/expect abandoned plot points from season 1.

What are your theories?

Where was the Mako Mermaids pod in Just Add Water?

I've watched both shows a few times but I could never figure out why the pod of mermaids from the Mako Mermaids series had never made themselves known in the og show. Obviously the real reason is that the Mako Mermaids show came out after, but did the show ever give a canon explanation for their absence in the previous years?
My theory would just be that they're a migrating/nomadic species so they could've just left for a few years and then came back, but obviously Mako island and the moon pool are pretty important to them, so idk.

MM Theory: Were Nixie and Evie supposed to be sisters?

It is obvious that after actresses of Nixie and Lyla left the show, they rewrote the story in many ways and rellaced a lot of planned plots. I was thinking what could be the original plans for season 2. Then it occured to me, a lot of people here seem to think that Evie was originally going to be a lot more Charlotte-esque than she ended up being. Had Lyla and Zac eventually ended up falling for each other Evie could get a lot uglier and do threatening things, just remember how invasive she was interviewing Rita in that S1 episode. What if she would later end up turning herself into a mermaid to compete with them? And just like how Charlotte turned out to have mermaid ancestry, Evie could turn out to be a sea-born mermaid to mirror that! Think about it, Zac and Mimmi do not look anything alike. That plot seems to be a retcon for season 2. Zac does actually look like his land-person parents, so s1 casting was done without that plot in mind. Nixie and Evie however, do look alike somewhat. (In fact Mimmi and Evie also look alike somewhat, maybe they planned to go with that before deciding on keeping the focus on Zac. Without a romance with Lyla, he would be fall out of spotlight if Evie was the "special one"). Evie could turn out to be the sibling of Nixie who got adopted to a land-family instead. Think about Nixie-Evie interactions. The scene where they fight over a shoe and get evie banned from the shop. Wouldn't it make more narrative sense to have Evie fight with Lyla, as they would later fight with Zac? Then in the episode where Sirena makes seashell accesories, Nixie negotiates price to sell them with Evie. Narrative just seems to want to have Evie and Nixie interact, dare I say, in a sibling-rivalry manner. Nixie was also said to be interested in/studying land people for a long time. It would have satisfied the plot point if she turned out to have a land person as her sibling. Was she unconsciously looking for her sister all that time? What do you think? Am I reading too much into it?

What some people don't understand is Charlotte's role in her first part of the season and they exchange fake cordiality with real politeness from Charlotte.

It's very obvious how she had to be "good" towards Lewis bc she had a proper goal since her first episode and she saw how much Cleo was vulnerable, working subtly on her weaknesses (trying to get close to Lewis and complimenting him in front of Cleo on purpose in 02x03, forcing Lewis to have a picnic together and challenging Cleo at the end of 02x06, giving Lewis's hoodie to Cleo in order to make her jealous and drive a deeper wedge in 02x08, inviting herself at Lewis's cerimony in 02x09, tutoring Cleo to get her away from Lewis and manipulating him in the whole 02x10, etc.).

She also displayed such entitlement and arrogance towards JuiceNet workers (Emma and Wilfred) in 02x05, wanting that juice at all costs, while interfering between Lewis and Cleo snitching on them.

That is definitely not good person behavior. Cleo, even if she didn't have to read her diary, wasn't so wrong being suspicious about Charlotte.

I’ve noticed that this fandom doesn’t quite understand the source material and seem to treat Charlotte like the spawn of hell when she was just a complex character in a show full of flat characters. People often give reasons why they dislike her and those reasons just aren’t true or didn’t happen in the show lol;

So please give me reasons why you or others would hate or dislike Charlotte Wattsford!! I’m going to turn this into a list and make a video about how misunderstood Charlotte is due to the fact that most people in this fandom only really watched the show once when they were very young and haven’t really rewatched since, or weren’t fully paying attention when they DID watch it lol.

Please note this is NOT me saying you HAVE to like Charlotte. I really REALLY don’t like Emma and don’t really like Rikki either lol, but I understand why people love them! I’m just trying to make a point that as a whole, Charlotte is misunderstood.

Every single H2O, Mako & other Jonathan M. Shiff actor that appeared in Reef Doctors!

Yes I did finally watch all 13 EPs of Reef Doctors in it's entirely on Internet Archive found and yeah I didn't expect all of these actors mainly the one offs that appeared in Jonathan M. Shiff's only tv show that has a M Rating most of which are from H2O & Mako Mermaids and also filmed in Queensland, Port Douglas the same place that Ocean Girl was filmed at back in the 90s.

The one off actors appeared in EP 2, 3, 5, 9 & 12 respectively.

Richard Brancatisano, Tasneem Roc who both play main characters while the rest only appeared in one EP.

Trying to turn into mermaids/merman

I wonder why noone except Charlotte tried to become a mermaid/merman when they discovered their secret. Especially Will from season 3. I thought that since he loved diving so much and gave up competitive diving in the end, he would want to become a merman to explore the sea together with Bella. And since the girls told him everything about mermaids and how it happened, one could think that he would try to become a merman himself.
