I’ve noticed that this fandom doesn’t quite understand the source material and seem to treat Charlotte like the spawn of hell when she was just a complex character in a show full of flat characters. People often give reasons why they dislike her and those reasons just aren’t true or didn’t happen in the show lol;

So please give me reasons why you or others would hate or dislike Charlotte Wattsford!! I’m going to turn this into a list and make a video about how misunderstood Charlotte is due to the fact that most people in this fandom only really watched the show once when they were very young and haven’t really rewatched since, or weren’t fully paying attention when they DID watch it lol.

Please note this is NOT me saying you HAVE to like Charlotte. I really REALLY don’t like Emma and don’t really like Rikki either lol, but I understand why people love them! I’m just trying to make a point that as a whole, Charlotte is misunderstood.

Please share your thoughts on not only my version here, but also the other two versions lol. Also should I do more with this?? I have no plans this summer and I might be able to make it like a super long animatic lmfao

ACT 1

Sue is speaking in front of the white commission, explaining she never really spoke to Carrie before her period.

PLUG IT UP - Everyone’s doing their own thing after gym while they’re walking to the showers. Chris is talking about her social media, asking everyone to plug her socials, Sue’s talking about how she’s having sex with Tommy and they’re telling her she’s plugging it up, etc. etc. Then Carrie gets her period and everyone harasses her.

Miss Gardner comes in and tries to settle everyone down, a light explodes. She takes Carrie to the office and Carrie is dismissed. She walks out of the office and everyone is snickering and laughing at her.

CARRIE - “That’s not my name!” Carrie yearns to get revenge and have a better life, this all takes place in a split second like a fantasy thing, she’s dancing with people, getting revenge, etc. etc.

Carrie stops singing and time goes back to normal, everyone laughs and people start fizzling out, but not without bullying Carrie a bit more. She exits.

SHOULDN’T SHE KNOW - Miss Gardner and Principal Stephens are discussing Carrie. He asks “Shouldn’t she know about her period?” and Miss Gardner explains Carrie has an incredibly troubled life.

DEAR LORD - Carrie is walking home. She’s praying and hoping that Chris gets what she deserves. She then remembers a time when she was a kid, she saw her neighbor sunbathing and acknowledged her breasts, calling them “dirty pillows” and how her mom beat her up after.

OPEN YOUR HEART - Carrie walks up onto her porch, she can hear her mothers music playing from outside. A guy rides by on a skateboard calling her Dirty Carrie. She focuses, the music swells, and he flies off his skateboard. She quickly runs into the house, her mother is folding laundry and singing to the radio. Margaret tells Carrie to join and she does.

The song ends and a different song comes on. Margaret switches it off quickly, saying “damn that methodist music.” She asks Carrie how her day was and before Carrie can answer she says Misses Snell came by with an order for Sue’s graduation photos, and said she took it because they need the extra money. Carrie tries to talk but the phone rings and Margaret answers it, her demeanor changes quickly. She slowly places the phone down and they sit in silence. Margaret says “You’re a woman now.” She picks up a bible lying beside the phone, turns around, and hits Carrie with it.

AND EVE WAS WEAK - Margaret begins reciting a fake scripture to Carrie about how menstrual cycles are a sin and sins should be punished and as such Margaret must punish Carrie. Carrie pleads, saying she thought she was dying and she was being bullied. Margaret beats her and harasses her with more scripture, and throws Carrie into her closet to pray.

YOU STUPID SHIT - Chris and Billy pull into a drive in movie. Everyone in their vehicles around them are flirting, making out, etc. Chris is doing her makeup and Billy is trying to kiss her, she pushes him and calls him a Stupid Shit. They argue, Chris talks about Carrie, and they begin making out.

EVENING PRAYERS - Carrie prays in her closet and discovers her powers. Margaret prays from the other room, and the two duet. Margaret lets Carrie out of her closet and sends her to bed.

Sue, in front of the white commission, explains that the first time she tried to talk to Carrie was in literature class.

The teacher tells everyone to sit down. He asks if anyone would present their homework poem and immediately picks tommy.

DREAMER IN DISGUISE - Tommy sings his poem.

Everyone laughs but Carrie says it’s beautiful. People start throwing things at her then the bell rings. Sue approaches Carrie and says she thought Tommy’s poem was good, as well. Carrie looks at her and remains silent. Sue says she’s sorry but Carrie interrupts. She says that she isn’t. If she was really sorry, she wouldn’t have done that. And she would’ve stood up for her when everyone was just now throwing things at her. Carrie says Sue isn’t sorry, she says she’s a coward. And then Carrie walks away.

SHE SAW WHAT I DIDN’T SEE - Sue is perplexed and realizes Carrie is right. She thinks to herself about how she always took the easy route, and never did what was right when it was the harder choice. She realizes Carrie saw she was a coward before she even saw it herself.

Miss Gardner gathers up the girls and tells them they’ve got detention. She explains that they’ll have to do it or they aren’t going to prom. Chris freaks out and tries to fight Miss Gardner, she stops Chris and slaps her across the face. She tells Chris she’s out of the prom and Chris storms off.

DO ME A FAVOR - Carrie begins practicing her telekinesis. Sue asks Tommy to take Carrie to Prom, Chris asks Billy for a favor.

I CAN’T GO - Carrie is cleaning her closet when the doorbell rings. She goes to answer it and Tommy is there. He asks her to go to prom with him and she rejects him, and begins to close the door. He pushes it back open and asks why. She asks if this is a prank, he explains it's not. She says she can’t go because her mom wouldn’t let her, he says it doesn’t matter and explains he won’t leave until she agrees, so she does.

Margret asks Carrie who was at the door. Carrie says it was nobody and she sits down in her chair at the dining room table. Margaret asks if she’s already done cleaning her closet and Carrie says she isn’t, she’s just taking a break because the pie is finished. Carrie asks Margaret what she thinks of prom.

SIN NEVER DIES - Margaret throws her tea on Carrie saying prom is sinful and thinking about sin is just as bad as sin itself. Carrie asks why prom is sinful. Margaret says after the blood comes the boys and they’ll sniff her out like fresh meat and draw her into their sinful lust. Carrie says she was invited to the prom. Margaret says decline. Carrie says no, she’s going. Margaret stands up, yelling SIN NEVER DIES! And saying Carrie’s sin will catch up to her. Carrie says to sit down and talk but Margaret begins to storm off. Carrie yells to just sit down and talk to her, and the dining room table flies across the room. Margaret calls Carrie a witch and Carrie says no, she’s not a witch. Margaret says this is Carrie’s sin, and Carrie drags Margaret across the floor and throws her into her chair. Carrie says she’s going to the prom, and she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore, and exits.

ACT 2

Sue explains to the white commission that she had nothing to do with the prank.

A BUCKET FULL - Chris and Billy are at a pig farm, they’re talking about their prank. Carrie is at a drug store trying lipstick samples, and Sue enters. She explains to Carrie how to use lipstick and the two bond. Chris says she wants a bucket full of pigs blood for that ugly fat pig. Sue invites Carrie to her house to get to know Tommy, and to decide what they’ll wear for the prom.

Carrie goes to Sue’s house and formally meets Tommy. Tommy and Sue were being really nice to Carrie and she accidentally moves the couch with her mind due to nerves. She explains she’s not a witch and she’s not sinful, but Tommy and Sue comfort her and tell her it’s okay, and that it’s actually pretty cool.

YOU SHINE - Carrie’s smiles and the three of them suddenly know everything about eachother. Sue says it’s because Carrie’s smile shined so bright it connected the three of them. Carrie says their kindness shined so bright it opened her mind to brand new possibilities. Tommy says the two of them had beauty that shined so bright he just wanted to be there, in that moment. They all began to tell eachother why they shine to eachother, and they all hug.

There’s a short sequence of Chris and Billy hanging the bucket.

Carrie is at home, making her dress. Sue is there helping her, and the two are having a great time. Sue asks Carrie if she’s nervous. Carrie puts the last stitch in the dress and puts it on the mannequin.

WHY NOT ME - Carrie sits down and looks at Sue. She begins explaining that she was never invited to things like this, and when she was it was always a prank or a way to bully her. But with these newfound powers and friends, she feels like she can do anything. She feels that if other girls can do it then why can’t she? She says that no matter what, her night will be great. Because if it is for the other girls, why can’t it be for her, as well.

Sue helps Carrie into her dress and gets choked up. She says Carrie looks beautiful. Carrie smiles and nods, saying thank you. The phone rings downstairs and after a moment, Margaret enters the room. “Miss Snell, it’s for you.” Sue and Carrie look at each other and giggle. She tells Carrie good luck and Carrie hugs her, saying thank you. Sue exits and Margaret fully enters the room.

I KNEW IT’D BE RED - Margaret tells Carrie she knew her dress would be red. Carrie says it’s pink, and to stop trying to ruin her night. Margaret says they’ll make fun of her and laugh at her. She tells Carrie that she can see the sin on her flesh and Carrie’s time is coming. Margaret continues to ramble as Carrie walks, pushing her out of the house and saying sorry. The song ends with Carrie standing on the front porch, Margaret walking away and Tommy walking up.

Sue tells the white commission that she had never seen someone so happy before.

Carrie and Tommy enter the gym. Carrie is in awe at the place, and says she’s trying to take it in. People begin crowding Carrie and complimenting her. Miss Gardner pushes through and grabs Carrie. She takes her to a table and sits her down. Tommy follows. Miss Gardner tells Carrie she’s beautiful and explains her senior prom, and the three laugh together.

EXODUS 22:18 - Margaret re-enters the house. She talks to herself, about bible verses. Then tells herself “thou shall not suffer a witch to live.” And she begins planning to kill Carrie.

IN - Carrie and Tommy slow dance. She explains that she’s finally starting to fit in. Tommy says he’ll make sure she does from now on. He says he loves her, and kisses her head. She says not to, because he’s dating Sue. Tommy says he knows that all three of them want to date each other. Carrie says it’s wrong. Tommy says we’ll make it work, that it doesn’t matter if people think it’s wrong. Carrie says he’s right. They both agree that after tonight, they don’t have to fit in.

Someone announces to the prom that it’s time to vote for King and Queen. Carrie and Tommy sit down, and Carrie is shocked, explaining they’re on the ballots. Tommy and Miss Gardner explain it’s fine and it doesn’t really mean too much if they win.

TO HELL - Miss Gardner and Tommy say they should vote for themselves, to hell with false modesty! And Carrie agrees. They vote for themselves.

Tommy and Carrie win prom king and Queen

DREAMER IN DISGUISE (REPRISE) Carrie and Tommy duet about how they never thought they’d get to do stuff like this, and are very happy. They go to the dance floor and dance.

THIS AIN’T NO GAME - Chris and Billy are in the rafters, explaining the prank. Billy says this ain't no game, and they’ll get into big trouble if this gets out. Chris tells him to shut up.

Sue shows up and stands outside the door, looking into the windows.

YOU SHINE (REPRISE) Carrie and Tommy step onto the stage. The three of them feel each other and Tommy and Carrie look out to the door, seeing Sue. The three of them sing about how they’re all shining in that moment, while Tommy and Carrie are crowned king and queen. As the music swells and their voices get louder, the bucket spills and the lights go out.

THE DESTRUCTION - The sound of the bucket hitting Tommy's head is heard, and the lights come on. We see him dead on the stage and Carrie is covered in blood. She begins to panic, reprising tons of lyrics she sang throughout the show as she spirals into insanity. The doors slam shut and she reprises And Eve was Weak. Explosions begin, people are screaming and dying. The lights flicker and flash, revealing Carrie killing people with her powers in different ways with each flash. We hear the sprinklers set off. Then we see the giant score board fall into the water on the floor. The flashing stops, we see Carrie standing and smiling as everyone around her is being electrocuted. The lights go out quickly again and while it’s dark, a giant wall lowers on the stage, representing the outside of the gym. We see fire rise from behind the windows. The lights slowly fade back in, onto the gym wall. The doors swing open and the fire parts, Carrie walks out of the building and turns to walk down the road. The doors slam shut behind her and as she exits the stage. the lights cut out again, the music fades, and the screams slowly get quieter and quieter.

Sue is talking at the White Commission, about how that was the last time she had ever seen Carrie White. She is dismissed.

The bathroom is empty, we can hear explosions in the distance and lights are flashing outside the window. The bathtub turns on by itself, then Carrie walks in. She's glowing red at this point. She climbs into the bath and rests. Margaret walks in

THY WILL BE DONE - Margaret rests beside the tub, looking at Carrie. She begins singing about Carrie’s sin, and how she should’ve killed Carrie when she was born. Then, Margaret began to recite the lord's prayer and she shoves Carrie’s head under the water, drowning her. Carrie begins thrashing around. The bathtub scoots across the floor and the wall splits open, then Carrie goes limp. Margaret turns away, but keeps her hand on the edge of the bath. Suddenly, Carrie’s hand grabs Margaret’s wrist and she yanks her close. She puts her other arm on Margaret’s chest. Margaret begins to whimper and scream, the red glow around Carrie engulfs the both of them. Then, the red light closes in on Carrie’s hand, and Margaret freezes up and dies, Carrie had stopped her heart. Margaret’s body falls backward, and Carrie’s arm falls as well.

There’s silence. We hear a car pull into the driveway, doors open, running, and we hear Sue calling for Carrie, saying they’re dead, they’re all dead. She enters the bathroom and sees Margaret and Carrie dead. Sue shrieks. She pulls Carrie out of the tub and begins rescue breaths. Water bubbles out of Carrie’s mouth and she wakes up. She asks Sue what happened. Sue tells her that she killed almost everyone in Chamberlain, and that they need to go. Carrie started crying and Sue held her.

THE WEIGHT OF BLOOD - Sue earnestly apologizes, Carrie apologizes as well. They reminisce on the life they could’ve had together with Tommy after prom, but realize they need to move on. Sue explains that the weight of blood isn't heavier than love.

Sue tells Carrie they need to leave, to a place where nobody knows them so that they can live different lives, but stay together. The scene cuts to Carrie and Sue sleeping in a bed. (The set is upright, like the opening of hairspray.) Carrie looks completely different. The phone on Sue’s bedside table rings, and she answers it. It’s the White Commission, asking if she’ll come in for an interview. Then, the show ends.
