I wasn't able to find anything nearby. Please please tell me exactly where are you guys staying. So fking Hot in Mumbai mannn!!! 😭😭😭

Career Advice (JBIMS)

23F here, a little confused about JBIMS options and wanted some honest advice from people who know the ecosystem well.

I gave my first MAH MBA CET attempt literally just for fun 😭 I hadn’t prepared, didn’t even properly know the sections/pattern, just wanted to see what the paper feels like. After the answer key, I realized I had scored around 120.

Then before my second attempt, I had around a week, so I gave a few mocks mainly to understand strategy/time management and now I’m expecting somewhere around 140–160.

Profile:
10th: 92.8% (ICSE)
12th: 88.4% (ISC)
BTech CS: 97% equivalent CGPA
2 years work ex at a fintech company as an Associate Technical Consultant (current package ~8-10 LPA)

The thing is — I’m not super passionate about any one domain specifically. My primary goal honestly is maximizing career growth/package.

So I’m confused between:
- Trying for JBIMS MMS
- Considering the JBIMS MSc Finance program instead
- Or just continuing my job and trying again next year for MMS if needed

I know MMS is obviously harder to get, so I wanted realistic opinions:
- How good is MSc Finance actually in terms of placements/opportunities?
- Does it significantly differ from MMS in outcomes/reputation?
- Would my tech + fintech background help there?
- If my end goal is highest possible compensation trajectory, what would you do in my place?

Not desperate to do an MBA immediately since I already have a stable job, so I’m trying to think long-term and rationally instead of just chasing a tag.

Would genuinely appreciate honest advice from current students/alumni 🙏

Help out guys!!!

I want to seriously start prep for mba cet 2027 right from June. Ofc I only want to target 2 top best colleges JB and simshree. But also I have my college placements starting from next month. So should I fully focus on the cet exam prep or placements (also I am not interested in my engg course) . I want suggestions that should I prepare for an exam with a job after being placed or fully prepare for cet in my 4th year. Also this year I got 118 marks in 1st attempt without actually preparing for the exam.

Plzz suggest something...

Need Advice/Insights

25M here. Academics: 10th - 95%, 12th - 81%, Engineering CGPA - 9.6, CFA Level 3 Candidate

Work ex: ~1.5 years at a finance firm working in private valuations.

I gave CET this year without much prep and somehow expecting around 165 based on the answer key. There’s a decent chance I may convert JBIMS.

The original plan, however, was to properly prepare for CAT this year and target BLACKI, FMS Delhi and SPJIMR.

Now I’m confused about what makes more sense if I do get a JB admit this year.

I’ve read a few posts recently saying JBIMS placement quality has gone down a bit in recent years, especially for front-end finance and consulting opportunities which i want to get into.

Wanted some insights regarding should i go for CAT this year and how the are placements in JB currently

JBIMS- Girls Hostel?

Hello everyone,

I am expecting to join JB this year and wanted to understand the hostel situation for girls.

Would really appreciate insights from current students/alumni on a few things:

  • Do all girls usually get hostel accommodation, or is it limited?
  • What is the allocation process like?
  • Are the rooms single occupancy or shared/double occupancy?
  • How clean and well-maintained are the rooms and washrooms?
  • How far is the hostel from college, and what is the daily commute like?
  • Are there curfew timings or major restrictions?
  • How is the safety/security situation around the hostel?
  • Is WiFi, laundry, mess, etc. available and decent?
  • What are the approximate hostel/mess charges?
  • Would you recommend staying in the hostel or taking a PG/flat nearby instead?
  • If PGs/flats are better, which nearby areas are preferred by JBIMS students?
  • Your experience as a girl in campus?

Would love to hear honest experiences, pros/cons, and anything else I should know before joining.

Thanks in advance!
