I bought this pretty much as is from a coworker. I put a 2” lift and fixed a few issues and have been absolutely thrilled with this vehicle so far!

My 1996 Isuzu trooper with the 3.2L engine is getting 9 MPG. Recently replaced the fuel pump and valve cover gasket. Everything seems to be in good order. Anyone know why I’m getting such low MPG?? It’s not the tires because I was getting low mpg even before putting them on. I even tried changing my driving habits, still nothing.

My 89 2.6 is in need of a new or reman engine. Does anyone have a good source for one? Thanks in advance.

Hi all! (From the uk) i found what appears to be a solid little opportunity here and i’m hella tempted.

I’d be commuting a good 180 miles a week tho which is what worries me.

Pic below, description also in pics. Is this solid or am i just getting too into it, on the outside and MOT history seems pretty damn good etc, advice welcome :)

I think im gonna buy another.

Id love to get another 1st gen, must be a manual and a diesel or the 2.6 or be engine swapped, not interested in the v6. Clean body is a must. Let me know of youre selling.

I have a 1999 trooper and I was wondering if the valves from any other engine like the 3.2 would have compatible valves or if there are any things I can do to remedy a bent valve.

There's an Isuzu for sale, but I'm uncertain about the price, mileage, and year at this moment. However, I want to know (besides the price for parts and how difficult it can be to find them in the US) if there are any real issues I should be concerned about when it comes to repairs and maintenance. I'm trying to find a good reliable car. I've seen gas mileage can be a little rough, but I'm willing to make that if it's a good, reliable, sturdy car.

1999 unable to enter key fob programming... Missing theft/locking module?

Basically the title. Had my 1999 for a bit over 3 years and finally decided to get around getting some new fobs since I didn't have any. Got the correct HYQ1512R and tried every manner of instructions to enter programming. No luck

Now that I think of it, I've never seen the anti-theft light ever come on for any duration, blinks, etc. Makes me wonder if there is even a module installed. Where would it be on a '99? Checked under driver side dash and behind glove box, no dice.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Bell housing to engine drop issues.

92 LS 5 MUA5 and 6VD1-W

Alright yall. Trying to remove the bell housing from the engine and we got a few issues.

#1) No problems
#2) Unsure if bolt belongs.
#3) Looks like a broken bolt shaft remains. Can see the old, circular imprint of the bolt head.
#4) No bolt belongs.
#5) Unsure if bolt belongs.
#6) Is seized/cant turn. Heated with torch. Breaker bar twists the extensions, but cant turn enough to break it free. No rust od corrosion visible. I'm concerned about breaking the bolt head off of the shaft, potentially leaving two or more broken shafts in the engine block.
#7) Bolt exists. Haven't tried to loosen yet.
#8) Bolt exists. Haven't tried to loosen yet.
#9) Unsure if bolt should exist. There is significant engine block material behind it, indicating that a bolt could exist, but should it?
#10) Bolt exists. No problems.

  1. You can see some uncertainty here on how many bolts there should be.

  2. seized number 6 is really seized. Tried heat and pneumatic (with a small compressor, don’t want to snap it, also used jack to relieve downward force)

New clutch and flywheel and bearings etc to go in once I get this thing dropped.

What insight might yall have? Currently stuck here.

Appreciate ya.
