Ramen at the Public Library
Public library has a small pavilion with outlets, so why not cook ramen outside on a nice day

does anyone else like these? paldo jjajangmyeon it’s literally so good but i feel like maybe the taste is not for everyone 😆
every bite feels like heaven 🙏
The first time I had this, several years ago, I was sorely disappointed. Perhaps I couldn't get the cheese/dairy + ramen-preconception out of my head OR I had it without toppings. Now people really seem to enjoy carbonara instant ramen so I thought I wouldn't give it another go this time with toppings. The egg and schnitzel made a huge difference IMO and I am now glad to say that I am fully onboard with carbonara ramen HOWEVER I now think the Buldak hot chicken flavour kind of lets the whole experience down (I love classic buldak dw). Anyone out there that can recommend a solid alternative carbonara that might be the one?
Seems to be a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it so far with a 25% approval rating on Nock-a-Noodle:

Samyang - Buldak spicy ramen hot chicken carbonara
Toppings:
Took a punt and bought 40 packs of Indomie Mi Goreng on Amazon and they're the Indonesian variant, they have the hot sauce AND they have a use by of October 26.
This must be what lottery winners feel like.
I've been eating instant noodles pretty much my whole life and recently got really into the idea of what they could be versus what they are.
The thing that gets me is that the format is perfect - quick, comforting, endlessly adaptable - but the actual product doesn't always deliver. Too salty, not filling enough, ingredients you'd rather not think about, and almost always brothy when sometimes you just want something saucy and coating.
I've been thinking a lot about what a genuinely upgraded instant noodle would look like. High protein, clean ingredients, plant-based, but still craveable.. Saucy rather than brothy. Flavours that feel current - things like hot honey, gochujang butter, sesame garlic.
A few questions I'm genuinely curious about:
What's your biggest frustration with the instant noodles you currently eat?
Do you find yourself adding things to make them better (mayo, butter, extra chilli) and if so what?
Would you pay more for something genuinely better, and what does "better" mean to you specifically?
Is protein content something you care about in this category or is it irrelevant to how you choose?
Not selling anything, genuinely trying to understand what's missing. Appreciate any honest thoughts.
It’s my first time trying it that too instant so idk any one who’s tried this ?
